Dine on tasty American cuisine at Nicksons Eatery. Its casual setting makes it a great place for enjoying a meal with friends or family. Owners Rich Baca, Nick Baca and Carson Baca opened its doors in 2010 to create a homey atmosphere and serve seasonal dishes right in downtown LaGrange. Nicksons Eatery's menu features salads, flatbreads and a variety of sandwiches. Guests can choose from a variety of entrées to try, such as Carolina shrimp with grits and Texan brisket tacos with chili-dusted fries. Desserts and gluten-free dishes are also on the menu.
Nicksons Eatery features live music and takes reservations online. It offers spirits, wine, cocktails and beer with meals. Carryout services are also available.
Food and staff were very good.
This is a neighborhood treasure. Order the crispy chicken salad. I plan to go back ASAP to have it again.
It was our first time at this restaurant (birthday party of 6 people) and we won't be coming back... The people were nice however the service was super slow, they maybe had 2 or 3 wait staff for the whole restaurant on a Saturday night. I think that was the longest we've ever waited for food. The appetizers were good but so small for the price (4 slices of green tomato for $10 and 3 tortilla-chip-size tostadas for $12). They ran out of sweet potato fries (our reservation was at 6pm, not at close time) and gave us soggy oily fries instead, which tasted reheated, not freshly fried (soggy, dark in some spots and transparent in other spots because they are soaked in oil). The pitcher of sangria was a small CARAFE that usually you get the water in, NOT a pitcher which seems like a good value when you're ordering to share... not a good value in this case and it only had few slices of apples in it. It was also loooong empty before they even bothered to ask if refill is needed. They totally forgot to bring the hot tea for one of our guests. They didn't bring the food at the same time for everyone. It was just disappointing...Sorry, the staff and decor was nice and we wanted to like it but none of us will come back.
A new spin on our old favorites.
From the chicken sandwich turned on its tail, to the beef tenderloin so tender that you could just use a fork, ending the meal with a large chocolate chip cookie hot from the oven. Yummmmm.
I always enjoy dining at Nickson's! Love the menu, friendly service and relaxing atmosphere . Everything was delish!
Got salad order wrong twice, and the waiter tried to force it on us. Green tomatoes were good but underseasoned. Crab cakes were ok. Tiniest piece of grilled salmon I've ever had. Noisy beyond belief -couldn't talk to the person next to you without yelling.
The food was excellent. Our table shared an order of the sticky buns and loved them! Two of us had the shrimp and grits and loved it! I had the pickle brined chicken sandwich which was excellent and my husband had the fish tacos which he said was delicious. Service was a little slow but the place was packed when we arrived. Server was very friendly and helpful with making decisions about our order. We plan on going back!
Excellent food; fresh, described well by waitress & menu - as I imagined. I excellent!
Great place. Food was really good and service was awesome. We will be back!
Great place. Great food. Excellent service. Friendly. Homey and interesting decor.
Great lunch spot, nice ambience, interesting menu items and fun cocktails!
Always great service and incredible food with a nice beer selection. Lunch or dinner or just stop by for a drink. You will not be disappointed. Best place in the LaGrange area!
Such a cute space. Food was so delicious but I think our order got lost. They were apologetic and brought a delicious brussel sprout app to the table. Sooo good. Will definitely go back but will ask to not sit right next to the music act. He was great but it was a bit hard to have a conversation
This is our second time eating here. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious with many wonderful options to choose from. The deserts are amazing!! We will definitely be back again!!
There were five of us, and all of our meals were very good. Our waitress was very nice and checked in with us quite a bit, to make sure everything was going well. Other staff who filled water, etc. were also very nice. The one complaint that I had was that I ordered the fried green tomato sandwich, which I love, but it seemed to be smaller than ones I have had it in the past. There just was not as much ingredients on it. This was at dinner time; and, even though I had a side of soup (which was good as always), I was still a little hungry. When I have had it in the past, I felt like it was enough to eat. Other than that, everyone seemed satisfied with their choices. It is a great neighborhood restaurant.
I have been to Nicksons Eatery a number of times. I love the fact that they have a smoker in house and also that they have a wide variety on the menu. The service is always been terrific, with very friendly wait staff, and even visit from the owner. It’s a great place for a family or a business dinner. Big fan.
Great place! Good food and fantastic drink options!
Food was great as it always is. Enjoyed the Maine Beer Dinner 2xIPA
Fabulous neighborhood place with excellent food. Never disappoints. Family owned and run.
The ambience in this place is quite nice, but it can get loud. We ordered the mushroom flatbread and the fish tacos. Both were excellent; the mushroom flatbread with truffle oil was particularly noteworthy.
The plank Salmon dish is outstanding! I returned there to have that dish especially, but would like to try other dishes.
The waitress was extremely helpful with the wine selection and suggestions, bringing me a tasting before deciding on which one to order. Waitress was extremely pleasant, making us feel welcome and catering to our every need. I will definitely return and bring more friends there as well, knowing they will enjoy it too.
Table was ready st reservation time. Server was friendly and efficient. Food was very good
We were very pleased with food, service and efficiency at Nicksons in La Grange. This place is an ideal business lunch location. Our group had a reservation at a round top table and the noise level was very comfortable compared to others spots for business lunches. Nicksons' menu takes the salad/soup/sandwich format to a much higher level than you might experience elsewhere, plus nice selection of wines, beers to accompany. We will be returning here again.
Ginny is a great server. Very friendly and helpful with menu options. Wish I lived closer so we can eat there once a week. Great menu and locally bought.
Nickson’s is an excellent choice if you are looking for great service, excellent drinks and a menu that has something for everyone!
It sits in the heart of downtown LaGrange, which feels like a small-town in a movie! Whether you are on a date, meeting friends, dining with family, or even on your own, the staff makes you feel like family and the food is delicious! Try the Sticky Buns! You’ll be glad you did!!
For some reason, everything seemed very very salty -- the Brussels sprouts, sweet potato fries, chips that came with fish tacos. Spent a lot of money, didn't enjoy the meal much.
Work group holiday luncheon!
I was very pleased with Nickson’s. The brussel sprout appetizer was amazing and the rest of our meal followed suit. Our server was friendly and very attentive, adding to a great experience. I look forward to my next visit!
Very good, delicious food
It was a very friendly, warm comfortable place...great service and food...will definitely go back and recommend it to others...
Great food. Great ambience. Great beer list. You can’t beat nicksons for a casual but delicious meal. Sticky buns and the Elk Burger are my favorites.
Nickson's is one of our favorite places to go for a casual meal. The food is almost always great and the service is fast and friendly.
We all had great meals that included a burger, salads, soup, and chicken dishes.
Food was great! Would definitely return!
