Our first time at Nicksons was superb! You must have the sticky buns.

We had such a horrible experience that the manager comped our entire tab. Waited over an hour for our dinner to come, and when they did finally arrive my salad was soggy like it had been sitting with the dressing on for 30+ minutes. Our server provided zero communication throughout the evening, which only added to the experience. Nonetheless we won’t be back.

I love this place and the food is always amazing. However this past weekend I made 5:15 pm reservation for Saturday and had a less than pleasant experience. When we arrived for our reservation I think only three tables had diners at them. The host said we could select whatever table, so we picked a table towards the back. We order, we eat and are just talking when the manager comes up and asks us to move to a different table because some other diners had reserved our table. Umm I placed a reservation as well so I found it pretty rude that this guy would actually ask us to move tables when we had been there for 45 min already. There also had been plenty of other open tables that people could have been seated at. It was a pretty crappy move, and I’ve yet to decide if it’s enough to stop me from frequenting this restaurant that I always rave about to my friends. Way to make you customers feel unappreciated. I have never had something like this happen to me before. I was embarrassed for this restaurant!

Everything was great about our experience until our server used his bare hands to put the half of my burger, that I was taking home into the takeaway box. I called him on it and he apologized, but made no attempt to correct his major error. I should have spoken to the manager on duty, but I didn’t. That was my error. I ended up throwing that half a burger away. Yuck!!!

Always a favorite in the DT Lagrange area. We have tried several dishes there and have enjoyed them all.

Food was not good. I had the pork chop that was over cooked and dry. The gravy they put on it was all salt. Everyones meals were about the same. We will not go back.

Ew to the area thus first visit to Nickson’s. Certainly a return visit will be forthcoming, as the food is both plentiful and very tasteful. The flounder special included andouille sausage, potato, and a flavorful sauce. Each of our entrees had similar sauces to enhance flavors. Given our table having both a child in high chair as well as a baby in a carriage, having the tables not on top of each other is nice.

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant on a regular basis since it opened. Last night my friend and I went there for dinner. It was the worst meal I have ever had from this restaurant. The shrimp and grits had no taste at all. The wait staff was very unprofessional. I am wondering if new owners have taken over since the quality of service was not up to par as it has been in the past. This was one of our go to restaurants. After the experience my friend and I had it is doubtful we will return.

Always a dependable and comfortable spot in LaGrange. Food choices change often and continue to please

must try... stinky buns, fried green tomatoes, cherrywood and gouda flatbread, chicken schnitzel and cedar plank salmon.. these are something special that won us over and will bring us back

Good but nothing that special... crab cake, tacos and wedge salad, good flavors seasoned well.

It was a great place for a group, just hard to have conversation as the nouse level was loud, but it was a Saturday night.

A solid choice for LaGrange on a Friday night. This is the second meal in about a month and while nothing was outstanding,everything was solid and fairly priced

Excellent food and service. We were seated and served promptly. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

We three couples enjoyed the food but could barely chat. Conversation was nearly impossible with a raucous table nearby and music blaring to compete with the din. Don’t go for dinner unless you’re prepared to deal with the acoustics. I enjoy lunchtime there much more.
SouthernBelle Chicken Salad is offered for both meals and is terrific.

Wonderful service

All in all experience was just OK. Had a reservation and seated immediately. Wait staff was fantastic; however the food was mediocre at best. Was excited about trying the brisket tacos, but overdone and dry. Friend had the pork chop, which he enjoyed. The brisket grilled cheese didn't have much meat. Thought it was a bit overpriced for what you got.

Really interesting flavor combinations that you usually can't find out of Chicago.

We had a larger group celebrating a birthday. The food was great, our server was attentive, and we had a very positive overall experience. We will definitely be back!

Creative menu, tasty food, and thank you for being reasonably priced.

A go to place and very consistent

Took 10 minutes for hostess to reseat us from under a dripping air shaft. Took another 15 minutes for server to come over and get our drink order. Seemed to forget us again after appetizers ordered so we could order our dinner. Completely forgot to bring 2nd round of drinks until we were 3/4 done with meal. Hoping it was just that they were short handed due to holiday weekend. thankfully the food was very good and offset the lack of service.

We had a party of 8 people. Everyone ordered a different entree and shared. All of the food was excellent. Nice selection of craft beers. The service could not be better.
The beef brisket grilled cheese sandwich with chili dusted fries is phenomenal.

great variety/many options to choose from. Brisket tacos--YUM. Brussels Sprouts appetizer--YUM! Attentive service. Excellent cocktails. YAY!

I could have ordered every starter! My husband and I both love tacos so we split both the fish tacos and the brisket tacos... we both loved the fish tacos. Brisket was good but not as flavorful as we wanted. Busy Thursday night after 7:00! Drinks were delicious, but a little more sugar than desired in both Grapefruit Moscow Mule and Old Fashion. We’ll be back for sure!

It was our first time at this restaurant (birthday party of 6 people) and we won't be coming back... The people were nice however the service was super slow, they maybe had 2 or 3 wait staff for the whole restaurant on a Saturday night. I think that was the longest we've ever waited for food. The appetizers were good but so small for the price (4 slices of green tomato for $10 and 3 tortilla-chip-size tostadas for $12). They ran out of sweet potato fries (our reservation was at 6pm, not at close time) and gave us soggy oily fries instead, which tasted reheated, not freshly fried (soggy, dark in some spots and transparent in other spots because they are soaked in oil). The pitcher of sangria was a small CARAFE that usually you get the water in, NOT a pitcher which seems like a good value when you're ordering to share... not a good value in this case and it only had few slices of apples in it. It was also loooong empty before they even bothered to ask if refill is needed. They totally forgot to bring the hot tea for one of our guests. They didn't bring the food at the same time for everyone. It was just disappointing...Sorry, the staff and decor was nice and we wanted to like it but none of us will come back.

A new spin on our old favorites.
From the chicken sandwich turned on its tail, to the beef tenderloin so tender that you could just use a fork, ending the meal with a large chocolate chip cookie hot from the oven. Yummmmm.

I always enjoy dining at Nickson's! Love the menu, friendly service and relaxing atmosphere . Everything was delish!

Got salad order wrong twice, and the waiter tried to force it on us. Green tomatoes were good but underseasoned. Crab cakes were ok. Tiniest piece of grilled salmon I've ever had. Noisy beyond belief -couldn't talk to the person next to you without yelling.
