This is the nicest Nick’s of all of the Nick’s restaurants for atmosphere. Food and Bev needs a little improvement. Sunday is Tortilla Soup night and this was the worst ever. My favorite by the way! It was watery and had no ingredients in it. Nick’s has one of the best menus around but it maybe time to change the sandwich bread and fries they serve.
I'm never disappointed when I come here. I ordered the brunch chicken and waffles. The portions of both were enormous, and the food was delicious. Service is always excellent. Highly recommend.
Vibrant atmosphere, great food and wonderful service. Can be a bit noisy during very busy times. We’ve been here at least 10 times. Always great.
Great Service ! Thank you for the great food! I had the asparagus fries, shrimp taquitos, and sea bass that were AMAZING!!!
Great food and service, a little too noisy for a business dinner meeting
A neighborhood gem! Outstanding service, love the atmosphere, steak salad was excellent, asparagus fries are fun! Upstairs is great for groups!
Eli was FABULOUS. SO SWEET and helped us with the menu since it was our first time. We can’t wait to go back.
I would definitely recommend Nick's South Lake and I have. Love everything there except their BBQ ribs...not good...ate half of them and gave up. They were dry and tasteless...they need to get a better vendor and fresher ribs, they taste like they were frozen. Someone from Nick's needs to go to Houstons and taste their ribs!!!
Best burger around. Char broiled flavor. Fresh ingredients, bun very soft. My wife's steak was very tender and flavorful. A little on the small size but the flavor made up for it. Love this place. Make reservations, very busy on the weekends.
Consistently delivers 5 star level cuisine and service is always on the spot. Complimentary first bottle corkage really sets Nick’s apart. Whenever I’m vacillating on which great restaurant to go to, the comp corkage tips the scale towards Nick’s. Really a brilliant marketing strategy. The marguerita flat bread pizza can easily challenge any great NY pizza joint. Sooo good. Although the veggie burger is healthy, it’s not one of their top dishes like the cioppino, baby back ribs and fish dishes. The veggie burger is a little too mushy for me. Overall, yes, just love Nick’s.
First visit ... definitely not my last! Great staff, attentive friendly service!
Great food choices - excellent service - and the butter cake dessert is not to be missed!
quality has gone down in past 2 years. same old food items on a menu w/o specials, food expensive and not as well prepared as when the restaurant opened. it was a regular place i could always count on for a good meal, but i don't think i'll be going back anytime soon.
Service was excellent and friendly, food was great!
always a great place to have brunch, lunch and dinner. the bar is great too. try an espresso martini...yummy!!
I love Nicks. The menu is simple and everything is always prepared perfectly. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Wine list is decent. It’s just a great place all around!
Easy to miss on Lake but worth it if you find it. Smaller menu but that is ok when everything on it is good. Asparagus fries are a must for appetizer. The fish dishes were excellent and appropriate portion size. Hot fudge sundae is an added bonus if you are into that kind of thing. Enjoyed their take on the old fashion as far as cocktails go.
The dish that I come to love and re-order multiple times now (my 4th visit but the 3rd time I ordered this particular dish) is the their Cioppino. The first time I had it, it was the best copping I've ever had. The second was just as good but the chef was heavy handed with the chili pepper flakes so it was borderline too spicy. It was so spicy it made me sweat. Also, the key show piece ingredient of the whole scampi was totally missing.
This 3rd time was completely off. The vegetables were too al dente and the broth had nowhere the body of the two times prior. They need to make this signature dish consistent. I love this place and this specific dish but they need to make it the same, every time.
Nicks continually lives up to expectations. Good service and good food. We’ll be going back again.
We come in every year from Hawaii to eat at Nick’s since they first opened. Love the food and this time we got treated to a 7.1 earthquake and watched our water and champagne try to get out of the glass. All and all a very memorable experience
Earthquake dinner. The food was okay. The place is nice. The relief waitress was much better than the assigned waitress. The assigned waitress wasn’t service orientated. Thank goodness for the chef who came out and spoke with us.
The best service, food, lighting, vibe. Nick’s Pasadena is our favorite restaurant! Thank you!
We made a reservation, they attempted to give us the worst table in the place, but we found another. That back table near the kitchen should not be a table given to someone that makes a reservation with “celebration” in the comments. Everything else was greats No other complaints.
Staff and food were awesome. So appreciate them helping me have an awesome 60th!!
It was a lovely restaurant to bring my 82 year old neighbor! She raved about the delicious buttermilk fried chicken sandwich to the manager who came by to greet us and to make sure that we were happy with the food that we ordered. I ordered the bistro plate and the presentation was great: filet mignon was well seasoned, the asparagus soup was hearty and the salad was just enough to make the meal perfect. Kudos to Nick's for having well attentive staff who cares about their customers. I plan to return next week with another friend and of course to order the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. What a neighborhood gem!
Always a great spot for drinks and dinner.
I like the fact that the menu offers a variety meaning there are full entrees, great appetizers that can be an entree in itself such as the flatbread/pizza, unique salads and good old fashion burger and fries. The desserts are the best and if you order the lemon cake it ADEQUATELY serves three. The wait staff are friendly and on top of their game. A shout out to the guys and gals in the kitchen as we were watching them from where we were seated..such rhythm! You must go.
We enjoy Nick’s Pasadena and Laguna locations. Food and staff never disappoint.
Great food and service. We even received a card from the staff for our anniversary.
We had a wonderful time at Nicks! The staff was extremely attentive, the food lived up to its promise, and the ambiance was great!
Service was outstanding, and the butter cake made a stellar ending to a delicious meal.
The only element i would have changed was a drenched salad on the bistro plate; you can always add dressing if needed.
I took my wife there for our anniversary and were delighted with our entire meal. Our server was exceptional and saw to our every need. The room was charming and warm but not to loud that we couldn’t enjoy our conversation.
We’ll be returning in the near future.
Nicks was delicious. The food is on point. I ordered the spicy tai noodle salad and my husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich. I’m so picky with my fried chicken and they make it perfect. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was so knowledgeable with the menu and drinks and made great recommendations. All together everything was 100 percent phenomenal. We will be back.
Live this spot. Great for business meeting as well as a date night.
First tune visit for lunch. Impressed. Clean facility. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was good. I had Thai spicy salad and the soup of the day which was tomato. Very good. I will return.
Gorgeous decor and service was great. Food was delicious. I will definitely be back.
My only issue with this place was the service. To be quite honest, I was annoyed most of them dinner because it took forever for our waiter to even acknowledge us and take our drink order. Then, it took even longer to actually get our drinks. Our appetizer showed up before our drinks. I needed to get the waiter’s attention and ask him for our drinks again, because he didn’t even notice that half an hour later we had no drinks. I mean, that was a bit ridiculous. Throughout the meal, it got better, but honestly, I have revisited better service at a restaurant that wasn’t as fancy. The food was great and drinks were good.
Worst service,Ive ever had at Nicks, and it is the last time I'll go toi the Pasadena location
Absolutely wonderful! Love this place! The atmosphere is really nice. I like to sit in the bar area because it's fun to people watch. The wait staff couldn't be nicer and very attentive to all our needs. We both got the bistro plate which is a little sample of filet, salad and soup. Perfect for lunch!! Highly recommend Nick's and can't wait to come back :)
The food was great and their corkage fee cannot be beat!
