nicks on westminster
We are excited to have you join us on this incredible new adventure in historic Downtown Providence at 100 Westminster.
We are proud to support our local community, local farmers, fishermen, producers+artisans.
Whether you have been dining with us for years at nicks on broadway, or you are thinking of joining us for the first time, we thank you for your support + patronage
Everything we prepare for you is made with care, attention+ love
Perfect Eggs Benedict should be a bare minimum for a high priced brunch restaurant. Ours came with yolk the consistency of hard boiled eggs
I've had great lunches at Nicks several times. The brunch was blah though. There was nothing special about the quite limited food or drinks menu for brunch, and the hollandaise was heavy and creamy without the classic lemony flavor I prefer. Typical of Nicks there's a heavy reliance on bacon and ham to bring taste, which is great if you like them. I didn't try the potatoes. The room itself was packed. We were seated by a window with NO way to block the incoming sun which was ultimately quite uncomfortable. The waiter checked on us so often it actually got annoying in the midst of an intense conversation. (It's not like we couldn't signal easily if we needed help.)
Great food and great location!
Pretentious place without the food quality to back it up. Wish I went to Kitchen I instead.
First time sitting in Nicks for breakfast, it was excellent, delicious food, coffee, service was great. Thank you so much for making my 58th birthday an enjoyable start to my day. Sincerely, Margaret M Sitko
Nice to have an additional place for Nick's... no waiting! ssshhhh....
Food choices are perfect and the timing and presentation are terrific. Keep it up! (but don't tell anyone about it!!!) lol.
Nicks was the first restaurant that popped up when doing a search for brunch. Quite honestly I wish we’d gone elsewhere. It started the moment we walked in and someone (presumably the manager/owner?) asked if he could take our just purchased coffees and put them elsewhere “it looks bad for business to have another company’s product in here”. Really dude?! I’m sure neither of Nick’s restaurants are putting Starbucks out of business, nor does your clientele solely dine/drink at Nick’s...but this could have been handled a thousand different ways (sign on the door? could we pour that into one of our mugs? something). Food was mediocre. The “seasonal fruit” platter consisted of not quite ripe selections. The main meal was typical of diner fare, nothing special, although for $12 it was not the priciest brunch, so mediocre was ok. All in all, it was a decent diner meal at a restaurant trying desperately to be upscale with a rude and inappropriately pretentious owner/manager. Better off going down Westminster to the less stuffy but likely comparable other restaurants.
Great food. Loved the restaurant! Server was very well trained! Great selection of small and large plates!
Outstanding restaurant offering excellent farm to table cuisine, sophisticated yet casual ambiance and attentive service. Indeed, a welcome addition to downtown!
This restaurant is in the lobby of the building I work in. I eat here daily. It can be crowded at lunch and particularly crowded at brunch on weekends. The quality of the food and the presentation is exceptional. Ingredients are locally sourced and
Great food service, kind of noisy
We really had a lovely time. It was pretty quiet when we first arrived. And was moderately full by the end of the meal. The servers were attentive without being pushy. And they were absolutely delightful. We had the warm olives and house baked bread, and then a pasta dish, and the bread dumplings as entrees, and the cheese plate to wrap everything up. The olives and bread were fabulous. Though be careful if you are impatient as I am, the olives are HOT initially and the pit even hotter. It didn't stop me from devouring them. But hungry folks proceed with caution. The entrees were wonderful. Absolutely no complaints. And the cheese board was quite nice, though a bit sparse on the cheese selection. Only two cheeses. They were very nice. Just would have enjoyed a third. Will absolutely be back though.
Great night out with friends for dinner. Tasty and interesting menu options with small plates available in a great downtown setting. Other friends have raved about their brunch as well so can't wait to go back to sample that menu!
Love love love this new space! The openness is fantastic and food is superb! I think I prefer this space over Broadway. Broadway is louder and you feel like you are on top of other patrons. Will definitely visit again.
The experience was very good. The food and service was very good. Please ignore the check off of just one block that was an error, should be 4 blocks.
Innovative food presented beautifully. All of the staff was attentive and responded immediately to any request. Lovely menu!
Great addition to downtown. Chef Derek has hit it out of the park again...food was delicious and service was great.
We were delighted and very surprised to be seated at a table directly in front of the open kitchen a la a chef's table! How fabulous to be able to see the culinary artists at work creating delicious delights!
Bravo to Derek Wagner and his staff for maintaining integrity and sustainability in the local food seen.
My husband and I dined there on a Friday for pre=theater dinner
The staff assured us we would be finished in time and we were. The food was excellent. I has the grilled chicken and it was honestly the best I have ever had. Definitely will return.
Food and service were excellent. Really nice ambiance with music lighting and overall esthetic.
Interesting downtown Providence restaurant with a fashionable ambience. Menu is a little different and food was good. But service was slow. Little pricey too.
We had an excellent meal and the wait staff were just terrific. We had a few questions about the menu and Megan was very helpful. In fact the entire front-end team took care of every table so the service was wonderful.
The food was also great. Everything was very fresh and there were interesting ingredient combinations. I also felt that the price was incredibly fair for the quality of the overall experience.
went for brunch and it was delicious! poached eggs were great, biscuits were great, and cocktails were great. we loved it so much we went back the next day.
Came for 2pm brunch on Sunday
Didn’t realize that was closing time so we were only ones left but Nicest staff..no rush at all
Would come back
Beat meal in a very long time!
Great place! I recommend the chilled oysters on the half shell. I will definitely go again!
Food was delicious, service was excellent!
Great food but slow on getting to the table (50+ minutes for 2 brunch entrees). Once food arrived, no one came to check on us to see if food was okay, if we needed anything or offered refills on coffee.
Excellent fresh food. Place is beautiful inside.
All three of us loved our meals at Nick's. Everything was so fresh and yummy! Will definitely return.
Appetizers, entrees, and desserts all delicious. Wait staff attentive, patient, personable, and not intrusive. Absolutely delightful evening.
Wonderful food, great service. We are lucky to ha e Nicks in downtown Providence now
Had delicious small plates, burger, and a special. The menu is very creative. Love it!
The tomato soup was amazing. My spouse had the risotto and I had the rigatoni. The rigatoni's sauce did not have as much pesto as I expected and was a little oily, but the breadcrumbs gave a nice crunch. I preferred the risotto -- beautifully done, creamy with earthiness from the kale and mushrooms.
Everything was wonderful. The vibe of this restaurant is comfortable and hip.
Nick’s food in a gross corporate setting with really bright lights and cafeteria tables. Stick to Broadway. This one is not good.
The menu was limited. Not many selections. The actual menu looked like it was self printed. My tuna was very good. Server was on life support; no energy or life at all. Place was extremely noisy-I could not hear my guests from across the table. Had to ask hostess to turn music down. She came over later and asked me if it was quieter. I told her I did not notice any change in volume. Nicks on Broadway never like this.
Food was excellent as usual. Server was a little strange in his greeting at the table and throughout the night. He was not rude just a little off. We will be returning for sure. Thanks again
