Nick's on Madison
Excellent food and great service!
Delicious food, beautifully presented & gracious host-Nick
Bon voyage dinner for my son. Food, service and the company was first rate. Will return again and again!
This was our second time at Nick’s and it was great to be remembered by Nick who made a special stop at our table to say hello and welcome us back. Our son and daughter-in-law have also been a couple of times and expressed the same feelings regarding the warm reception that they’ve received.
We try to mix up our dining experiences by introducing new places into our list of "tried and true", which are usually close to home on the Eastside. But sometimes we'll find hidden gems, as was the case last Saturday night with Nicks on Madison. What an incredible find. I'm glad we had a reservation, since the place was packed, and speaking of which, it was amazing to watch a constant stream of people running into people they knew; this is clearly a place which caters to the locals. The only minor downside was how deafening the noise would become from a very raucous group of people at the bar (which literally blends into the dining space), otherwise the food was spectacular and the service genuinely warm and perfectly attentive.
The seasonal menu was perfect. All the dishes looked very fresh. My halibut was exceptional.
Great food and service...top notch!
Totally excellent addition to the neighborhood - great food and attention by all staff.
They didn’t have vegan options on the menu for me but I thought a couple dishes would work if they could hold the bacon or cheese, for example. But when I asked our server about that she said the chef actually had a vegan ‘hash’ ready to go that wasn’t in the menu. It was fantastic. It’s a nice decor and everyone we had contact with were extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend.
Great go to neighborhood restaurant. Food is always great.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Fantastic food, wonderful atmosphere, service that's personal. What a treat to have Nick open this place. There's even parking!
Overall, a pleasant dinner with friends. The setting and ambiance are wonderful with modern touches and a white, blue and gold palette. The menu is not too big, not too small; Just right with an intentional focus on in-season and local products. The gnocchi in tomato sauce and the wild mushroom with hand-made pasta were quite good. Unfortunately, the hamburger was not so successful. We had to return it after arriving well-done when ordered medium rare. From personal experience, it’s pretty difficult to get a thicker, highly compacted bistro-style burger done medium rare if you don’t first sous vide it and finish on a blazing grill. Even with this issue, we’ll be back. It’s a neighborhood gem.
LOVE the cauliflower app!!!
This was our second visit, and we will definitely be back. The menu has a nice variety of choices, and the service was great. The noise level is lively, but not so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation with our friends. Nick’s is a great addition to the neighborhood.
Great new restaurant and addition to Madison valley! Ambiance and food were excellent. Looking forward to going back again.
WELCOME to our neighborhood! Fantastic menu! Service was great! Nick was present!
Great dinner! This is a good review and I’m saying no morei
Cocktails, ambiance and food were excellent. I had the halibut with black rice - it was cooked perfectly! Great place for a night out with family, girlfriends, or even a date when you want something nice/special... but not too fancy. Will definitely be back!
Food was amazing, cocktails and ambiance as well. The space I beautiful, welcoming and so classy! A neighborhood gem!!
We have been to Nicks several times and they are really getting in their groove. The food is delicious, and the service is great.
One thing to pick on? If they lost the TV over the bar, we would not be disappointed.
Excellent, lively but not too loud! Interesting, exactingly prepared food, and variety to suit various tastes. Fair prices. For the neighborhood and beyond!
All of the food was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly!!! All the staff members were friendly, helpful and prompt!
I really wanted to like this place but cannot muster enthusiasm. The restaurant is new so I will give it another chance. On ambiance, it feels like a diner; the lighting is far too bright for dinner, everything is white, and the tables are floating squares of white formica all lined up in a row. The quality of the ingredients was very good but the preparation was less than excellent. My halibut was overcooked, not terribly, but it just was not fantastic. The vegetable puree underneath the halibut was excellent. The wine prices are way high for what they are even for Seattle. I should have ordered a mixed drink, they looked good but I didn't have one. My husband makes a better spinach strawberry salad than the one served. My husband liked his french dip sandwich but said it was pretty ordinary. The two friends with us were unimpressed with the food and the serving of the chicken dish was a small portion. The dessert, a lemon tart, was barely okay. Overall, I thought it should have been better for the price. Once again, the restaurant is new so it may improve. I will give it another try since it's in my neighborhood and I would like it to be a success.
A very good neighborhood restaurant, dinner can be simple or fancy. A pleasant place, and staff attitudes are excellent. Highly recommend
Hit every mark! Can’t wait to go back. Just what we all need - inspired food, good vibe, sincere service. A+.
This was our first visit to Nick's on Madison and had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was amazing, all the services seemed to be in a choreographic dance. We never waited for anything, and the cocktails were delicious. We will definitely go there again.
We have eaten at Nick's the last two weekends as we were delighted with the quality of the food (mussels appetizer is amazing!), we had the same wonderful server both times, and were greeted both visits by Nick. We love having a neighborhood high quality, low key restaurant nearby and we will definitely be back.
Awesome new restaurant in Capitol Hill area! Food was excellent, service was even better! Nick, the owner, came by several times to make sure everything was perfect.
I was super impressed with this dining experience. The food was great and Nick the owner is right there interacting with his clients making an excellent impression. My cocktail was amazingly good and I could actually taste the alcohol. I am so tired of cocktails where you are not even sure the bar has added any. We were a four top and we all tried to share family style. There was not one appetizer, salad or entry that we did not like. The tempura cauliflower was awesome as was the halibut. All four of us said we would definitely be back.
