Service and food were weak. Booths were all torn up, looked like a termite or mouse ate them
Service was so slow and wait staff were rude! Took 30 mins for coffee , 1hr 30 for food, 30 mins to run our cards at the end - had to ask for milk 4 times by which time my tea was cold. Overall very poor for NY!
Definitely highly recommend! Food and coffee are excellent and deserve the price charged!
The portions are fantastic. My 2 egg breakfast could have fed 2 people.
I like the outstanding.
Service was good, but, not great. However, the ambiance was wonderful. It appeared to have been a milkshake bar years ago and had been significantly updated. The bar stools had seats that spun around. The best part was the food. Not only were my scrambled eggs and bacon perfect but the portions were huge. Best breakfast I have had outside of Parc in Philadelphia
When asked for pancakes with seasonal fruit we didn't know the fruit would be inside the pancakes itself. I'd rather have it on the side. Coffee was served but for a while no one brought a spoon for the sugar. Multiple waiters were serving us so it was confusing as well... But overall, place and ambience was 10/10,would go again and try something else from the menu.
Great spot for a quick bite or long y’all with friends. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Great ambiance!
This was a great place to have brunch with my family!
Although they had run out of drinks such as a Bloody Mary and no orange juice and it was only 12.15. Otherwise pretty good visit
Nickel and Diner had amazing food and great vibes!
The service was terrible. We waited forever once we sat down for someone to just ask what we were drinking. He place seemed disorganized.
We went for brunch this past Saturday and had a generally okay time. The music, however, was blasting early 2000s hits throughout the meal and the food itself wasn’t terribly interesting. Not bad, not great. Very thin coffee. All in all not somewhere I’d need to return when in the city.
Consistently great service and delicious food. Lunch crowd is manageable. I still miss the chicken dumpling soup, but the rest of the menu makes up for it (mostly).
A bit over priced for mediocre food
I had high hopes for this restaurant. Walked in and it looked adorable and played nice music. Unfortunately, we had very poor service. The spinach & artichoke dip should have been called baked cheese because there was barely any spinach or artichoke in the dish. My friends veggie burger with Swiss came out with the Swiss cheese as hard as a rock, had to be re-made. My friend who wanted the roasted chicken was told they were out but could prepare some grilled chicken instead. The chicken came out on a bread/butter sized plate- no presentation whatsoever. Pretty disappointing experience.
Travelling with my sister !
Place was empty on Saturday night. Prices were high and quality was average. Despite being empty service was still slow.
the classic egg sandwich and chicken waffle are great! especially the waffle! but the decoration of the food wasn't outstanding.
Table, chairs and silverware were dirty. Food was very basic and presented like a fast food restaurant. Orders came out wrong as well.
Very cute contemporary hip take on a diner. Classic food options, everyone in our party was happy with their order.
Aboslutely a great place to visit! Try the corned beef hash and chicken waffle! The chicken is kinda spicy tho.
Terrible service. You know you’re in for it when all the plants are dead. Appetizing! Afraid to order another beer as it may take another hour- even if you’re the only table there! New Yorkers have way better options.
Very very slow waiters even so the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. And the food is just average. Pretty disappointed
Veggie Burger on a rainy night and great staff... nothing to complain about!
Took about 15 minutes to get seated with reservation, than another 15 minutes to get water. By the time our entrees arrived we had been there over an hour. The food was good and ambience was nice but we definitely felt neglected in the service department.
Like diner date but a step up. Really enjoyable, nice streamlined atmosphere.
very disappointed with the deco on the dish and even the taste of food.
A very good experience. Very cool place, and they were nice to our children and their friends.
We have eaten here about 4 times and are overwhelmed each time, at the deliciousness of the food.
The food is bad and overpriced. You're paying for the Instagram vibe. My grilled cheese was like cardboard and the tomato soup tasted like someone heated up some crushed tomatoes and sprinkled pepper in it. My friend's hashbrowns were cold on arrival and his storebought English muffin with jam cost $7.
Food took over an hour and they screwed up our order in more ways than I care to mention. Sent back my burger twice. They made the soup from scratch on the fly after they realized they never entered it. Waiter disappeared after it became apparent that she completely bungled the order and the poor food runner was left with all apologies. The manager appears oblivious to the details of what transpired. They took drinks, burger, and soup off the bill. I think they should have comped everything for the 4 of us it was such a frustrating experience
The staff here are wonderful, great service and very accommodating without interrupting too much. Good food. Love this place.
The previous reviews are accurate. It's a diner which attempts to play in the restaurant space. I had hoped it was a restaurant themed as a diner but I felt let down.
I had my 4yr old with me and it took 30 minutes to get a waffle, some scrambled eggs and a salmon plate out of the kitchen. The food was cold by the time it arrived. I was not planning to return anyhow but I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to a friend. Kitchen is slow and service is okay.
Our waiter forgot to put our order in. We waited an hour and 15 minutes with a reservation and guests that arrived later got their food before us. We did really enjoy our meals though!
Went here for brunch while visiting for the weekend. Enjoyed the diners atmosphere and service was great.
Awful service, GM was a jerk. Never going back.
Solid brunch choice. Good celeb/people watching. Everything we ordered (veggie burger, caesar, burgers, eggs benedict, coffee, Chablis) consumed with glee. Great server. Out of Diet Coke, which was weird. Would go again in an instant...
Good food and decent vibe. But service was borderline indifferent and very slow.
It was perfect- Ambiente, Food and Interior!
