Always a fun, yet pricy pre-concert place to grab food!!
Prices are a tad high especially salads/sides..

Extremely loud and always packed.
Service is hit or miss..

This is a standard priced (expensive) steakhouse for NY. The steak was a little bit salty as was the sauce I got (red wine bordelaise), however the peppercorn sauce my husband got was great. What was most disappointing is that the sides are extremely expensive ($11-13 for vegetables or fries). We got parmesan truffle fries and the fries are literally the same type of fries they sell at McDonald's - pre-frozen fries that are just heated up and sprinkled with parmesan and truffle. I do not think that pre-frozen fries should cost $13. A restaurant who sees themselves at a high caliber should be serving hand-cut fries or at least fries that arent pre-made.

Terrific restaurant not matter the event. We normally go prior to a game at MSG, but I have had lunch there prior to taking a train from Penn Station.

It was my husbands birthday (I indicated this when I booked) no one recognized this occasion which I found disappointing. What’s the point of asking what the occasion is if it’s not recognized? Our server was trying to take our order before we even sat down, I was literally not even in my chair before he asked what I wanted to drink. The food came extremely fast which to me means it’s not made to order. No one filled our wine glasses, we did all the pouring ourselves. My husband enjoyed his steak, my fish was good but the potatoes were lukewarm at best. I was supposed to have hollandaise sauce on my fish but alas it was not there. When I inquired the server went and got the cold hollandaise without even an apology. I told our server it was my husbands birthday and he didn’t even say anything. The service was POOR the food was good. If you enjoy crappy service and good food this place is for you. We won’t be back and won’t be recommending this establishment to anyone.

No better place to grab a steak before an event at MSG. Guest and I had a filet and tbone, which were both top notch. Only negative comment is the table - ended up at a table for 2 against the back wall where all the tables were right on top of the next - literally could not squeeze by the folks next to you and it was almost like a table for 4. I can appreciate wanting to dine/serve as many guests as possible, but there were also other open tables for 2 in corners, which they seemed to have saved (I had made a reservation ahead of time).

This was my firs time here and everything about Nick and Stef's was above my expectations. I dined on the petite filet mignon, sautéed spinach and started with the tomato and mozzarella salad. All were done to perfection. The filet was by far one of the most tender and flavorful pieces of steak that I have had . The atmosphere was very nice and the noise level was so that you could talk to the others at the table without shouting. I normally seem to dine at Keens or Wolfgangs when in the city, but wanted to try something different and I am very glad I did. I will be back to Nick and Stef's on my next visit to the city

Conveniently located - if you're taking the LIRR or seeing an event at MSG - great steaks, great service and nice atmosphere. The wait staff was very friendly, our porterhouse for two was cooked to perfection and the slab of bacon was incredible. A nice indulgence once in a while.

Steak wasn’t a nice cut unfortunately - ordered medium but half was well done half was medium. The biggest issue that this restaurant had to resolve is the wine by the glass list - the highest priced cab on the standard price list at 19 dollars and this was a cheap poor choice on your behalf. Good for your margins, bad for the customer. I often see this strategy at certain restaurants and it’s a poor one where the by the glass options at the highest price point are poor (not just my taste but in rating). The high end wine list started around 30 dollars which isn’t realistic - even in NYC which I dine frequently.

My wife and I went there early before a concert at Madison Square Garden. We shared the Calamari app which was excellent with a light breading. She had the petite filet and I had the ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Our waiter, Big Al (I think that was it) was awesome! Friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The negatives were the side of potatoes... was more like hash browns so not my favorite. I would prefer that the bread served, which was delicious, be a bit warm instead of cold. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was outstanding and I would dine here again when going to MSG.

Convenient to MSG which is only reason I ever go here. Been a few times and not close to a top a NYC steakhouse IMO. Porterhouse was rare and was ordered medium. Waiter argued with me that it was indeed medium before finally taking the $110 steak back for more fire. I know the difference between rare and medium. Prefer Keens a few blocks away.

We arrived early for our reservation (45mins early). There wasn't a wait when we arrived, and informed the hostess that we would love to be seated as soon as they were able, as we had an 8pm show to attend in MSG. We were not seated until 7:15pm (15mins later than our reservation time). We watched as multiple tables -- walk-ins -- were seated before us. We approached the hostess about this but were ignored. We shoved down our food in order to make the show. We thank our waitress for seeing our distress and buying us a round of drinks but, unfortunately, that is the only positive part of our experience. For this reason, we cannot recommend Nick & Stef's.

You really can't beat it for location if you're going to an event/show at MSG.
Food is good, service is great and you don't need to make dash to get to the show.

We had a reservation for 6:15 pm and weren't seated until nearly 6:45 pm. The waiting area was chaotic and mismanaged; the food was just ok. The bill including tip was $200 for 2, with just 2 courses and one round of drinks (one wine and one cocktail) - not a good value.

My husband and I had tickets to see Michael Buble, last Wednesday. It was a snowy night but Nick and Stef's was warm and cozy. We had an early reservation so we were not rushed. My dietary restrictions were honored and my Bronzini was delicious.
We loved the convenience to MSG; just out the side door and you were inside. We will return again.
