Always perfect and fun before a NYR game. Nice service, great food, interesting wine and so convenient.
I was so looking forward to this night. I love steak & hadn’t been to a good steakhouse in quite some time. This place disappointed. The food came out WAY too quickly, for starters. We hadn’t even finished our cocktails before the steak & sides came out. The cocktails were delicious, by the way. We each had a passion fruit martini. But I digress. We ordered the steak medium. When it came out, well...let’s just say that with a little care, it could’ve lived. We really should have sent it back but it probably would’ve been thrown in the microwave. Doing that can make the steak tougher. So we ate it. It was a porterhouse, by the way. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a steak with more fat and gristle in my life. The pieces that I could eat were OK, but definitely under-cooked. Definitely NOT worth the $57 per person. The sides were hit and miss. Hit: the mac and cheese. Very tasty. Miss: the pan roasted crispy potatoes. They were more mushy than crispy and they had no taste. Long story short: don’t waste your time and money on this place. There are far better steakhouse options in the City.
Server was inattentive and distracted. Tomahawk steak was good, other than that, the meal was forgettable. Our order was wrong and by the time the server came around again we were finished eating. An order of broccoli was omitted entirely. We wanted bernaise as one of our sauce choices, however horseradish sauce was brought out instead.
The coffee was great and the cheesecake was homemade and delicious.
The place for dinner before a MSG event
Very good steak
Great food ... great service ... on Ranger nights the noise level makes it difficult to talk/hear
Always awesome but really load!
What you'd expect from a NY steak house. No surprises. Good beef. Standard side dishes. Conveniently locate at Madison Square Garden.
Very gracious service late on a quiet Monday. Very good standard steakhouse fare.
My go to with groups around Penn Station. Easy access to the train station and MSG. Consistently good Steak House.
I love everything about this place!! The people who work in this establishment are wonderful and the food was great. I love the slab of bacon.
Enjoyed the entire experience. Food was delicious and the service was top notch from our server, Lauren.
Always good food but pricey
Service was very good and the Steak was to my liking.
Not the quality meat I would expect from a Steakhouse in NYC or anywhere for that matter!
Great service and delicious food! Will be back again.
Wonderful dinner during my mom’s bucket list Christmas in New York item.
Been meaning to try this place for years. The wait staff was very polite and helpful. There appeared to be a mix up with my order, and the staff offered to take it back and fix it, which they did promptly. Other than that, the food was excellent. It was a bit pricey, but not out of line for New York City. I would go back.
Awesome food the restaurant itself was a bit noisy and the table were to close together
My wife’s favorite. Always our go to spot when we’re in the city and you’re open!!
We booked early bc we request a wheelchair accessible table. We were going to a show at MSG. A snowy wet evening. The restaurant was packed like sardines, very noisy and hectic not a relaxing romantic vibe.
standing room only, they were very accommodating that we had an extra guest. Lump crab cocktail was awesome, priced accordingly, crab cake entree nice size also real large lump meat, a little peppery but delicious. Stuffed shrimp with crabmeat mixed with snow crab, shrimp were large but hard and chewy. Beautiful presentation over spinach. Filet mignon cooked perfectly. Drinks so so, stick with wine. Server very rushed but got us out on time.
We went here prior to seeing Bocelli at MSG. The place is small, crowded and noisy. The tables are all on top of each other especially the tables for two which are inches away from each other. Service was very good and food was top notch. Management should have a bit more respect for couples billing over $200 for a meal when it comes to seating. Get rid of a table or two and give people some room to enjoy their meal.
Great place to go if you have a ticket for something at Madison Square Garden. Very noisy and tables on top of one another. Service was outstanding. Food okay --crab cakes had an off taste. We were just hoping they were not bad but maybe old crabs Halibut special was good but a little overdone. Food comes out hot and they make sure you get to the show on time.
Due to constructions going on in and around Penn Station, many eateries have been closed. Out of default we had lunch here. Judging by the tables around us, I'm convinced many office people share the same default idea. My burger was ok; I asked for medium rare and it came pretty done. I also have a problem with paying $11 for a bowl of tomato soup. A large tomato with feta soup at Pret a Manger costs less than $7. I guess it can get away with it since there's nothing else in the area serving the MSG crowd.
Great as always, best dining location before
Knicks game & food and service is always amazing.
When we arrived we felt as thought we were regulars with a barman who was fun and friendly. The service was excellent and the fillet mignon was particularly outstanding. All in all a great experience
Waiter never hardly acknowledged we were within the building, never asked how the food was, seemed to be disturbed that we asked for the 8pm menu. Brought one cup of coffee, no refills , took cup away. Horrible food for almost 200 dollars
Chewy Filet, I should have been able to cut a good filet with a butter knife. I couldn’t cut it with a steak knife! Mashed potatoes very bland, raw baked potato and undercooked Brussel sprouts. We won’t return. Only thing decent was onion soup.
The food and service was absolutely excellent. We were attending an event at MSG and they made sure we were out on time. We had the wedge, kale and quinoa salad (fantastic), filet mignon (cooked perfectly), jumbo crabcakes (moist and delicious), lobster macaroni and cheese (lots of lobster) and for desert we shared the donuts. They were light and fluffy - perfect ending to an amazing meal. We also had the passion fruit cosmos and they were also delicious. Our waiter, Matthew, gave us the perfect service. Knowing exactly how to attend without being a bother. We will definitely be back.
Great steakhouse near Penn Station. The Wait staff is amazing and the food is delicious! Highly recommend.
Waiter rude food over cocked very noisy rushed us out and we were not there to see a show
I adore this restaurant! It is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. a great place to bring family or business associates. You really cannot beat the prix fix lunches or dinners. Whether you are a steakhouse fan or prefer fish, pasta, it is always consistently amazing. The staff are not new to their profession. Always solid all the way around! LOVE THIS PLACE!
the tartare was one of the best i have had Nice wine list
Always the best choice anywhere near the Garden! Crew & food are always 10 out of 10! We morphed a reservation for 2 into a party of 5 when nephews showed up "just to say hi", without missing a beat!
The ambiance is so NY C Fodd is excellent Menu selection is awesome has typical steakhouse choices then there own Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection Being so close to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station is a win win Highly recommend this restaurant
The food was awesome, however portion sizes for the sides and the dessert were smaller than expected. It was extremely loud in the restaurant, but I was there right before an event at MSG so it was expected. My only complaint would be that it was very hard to move throughout the restaurant, there were way to many tables/poor layout of the tables. The food was great and so was the staff! Our meals came out extremely quick. Overall would highly recommend.
I ordered the grass-fed sirloin and it was nearly inedible. Service was friendly, no complaints there. I was very surprised by how poor the steak was prepared.
Great food, quick service, a bit noisy as there were many large parties. I highly recommend it, particularly if you have an event at the Garden. There are stairs inside leading from the restaurant to the arena. Recommend even if you’re not going to an event.
Nothing was what I would consider upscale steakhouse quality except the prices
Amazing steaks and appetizers. Great service and extensive wine list
