Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse - New York Ratings and Reviews
I had tickets to the Ranger game and wanted to take my girlfriend out to dinner for our Anniversary on the same night. I googled local restaurants close to the garden.Low and behold this resturant poped up and was in the garden , well same building . I booked a late reservation to make it to the game on time but it was all that was available for that time . I enter a hour earlier to hope that they'd be a possibility of an earlier seat. We managed to sit at the bar which was first come first serve had our drinks but still no seats opened up within that hour . The table was available for the time I had a reservation. We were seated at a nice cozy corner table which made me look like I planned this night in advance . The waiter was so kind and understanding that I ordered everything to come all at once. And it did. Oysters are our favorite east coast blue point I order 2 dozen . Tuna tar tar was unbelievable Besides a few other. Fillet mignon was deliscious. We made it to the game not to late but the experience was all we needed
Very convienent for events at MSG, nice decor and atmosphere. Service was fine. Unfortunately, the porterhouse for two was disappointing, sirloin was very chewy and tough. Not what you should expect from a $110 Steak. This may have been a one time event, and I will give it another try, but it was less than I expected.
Ordered the rib-eye. Wasn’t planning on eating the whole thing but it was so delicious I couldn’t stop. Sides were good, but seemed too small to share. There are about two too many tables in the restaurant. When it got full it was very hard to walk through to the rest area. Had to flag down our busboy to get my water refilled. Overall I’d return in the future if I were in the area.
Place was super packed for the Billy Joel Concert. We were concerned about the wait, even though we had a reservation. To accommodate us Sal the Mgr put us at a high top table and waited on us himself to make sure we had our food and that we were out on time. Food was great and service was perfect. So great to see someone at the top fill in to make the customers happy. Will be going back for next NYC event highly recommend.
This was not our first time here. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection as always. What impressed me this time was the courtesy they extended us. We were over 40 minutes late for our reservation because of a LIRR issue which forced our train to be shut down en route. I called and let them know the situation and our table was held. We arrived and were immediately seated. We enjoyed our meal and we made it into the Billy Joel show with at least 30 minutes to spare (Thanks to the VIP entrance thru Nick & Stef's - another preshow perk!!).
Thank you Nick and Stefs!
So, as promised, I returned to Nick and Stef's my next foray to the Garden. The first time was a "big" event and I purchased a very expensive (though probably the single best wine value in a NYC Restaurant) so one might expect good treatment on that basis. This time was a different crowd. I was expected to practice restraint on the Wine list. We experienced the same excellent service nonetheless. And we were steered towards some excellent wines at reasonable prices as well. No reason to go anywhere else .
Excellent service from our waitress. We chose the restaurant because of proximity to Penn Station. We arrived with a lot of suitcases and the receptionist was extremely helpful, and very friendly to our support doggie. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, brought our drinks right away and made friends with our little doggie in his carrier. The noise level decreased notably after half an hour, and we had a great family reunion.
Very satisfied with the dining experience. The restaurant is expensive but the steak was very good. The waiter was pleasant and helped answer any food questions that we had. The atmosphere was what s high end steak house should feel like. I have a partial season Knicks plan, and I will come again.
