The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff were very nice and attentive. We were never rushed and had a wonderful evening.
Food was very underwhelming. Lump crab cocktail was good, expensive.
Sauteed mushrooms were terrible, bland and chewy. Truffle parmesan fries weren't good either, not crispy and little parmesan.
Filet mignon was underwhelming. The server mixed up my wife and my filets, she ordered medium and I ordered medium rare. The medium steak was ok, medium rare not good.
The waiter was very nice, apologetic, & offered compensation but we just wanted to leave & see our concert.
Went to men's room on the way out. The bathroom needs serious updating. Urinal didn't flush, soap dispenser connected to counter didn't work, and hand towels littered the floor and sink area. Needs automatic driers (+ hand towels) auto soap & auto flush.
My brother and I went Sunday night before the U2 concert. I thought that the seafood appetizers were fresh and the steaks were perfectly cooked for the both of us. Also the waiter and staff was very attentive.
I wanted to try this place due to its proximity and advertisement, even though I wasn't really in the mood for steak. They did offer a fish special but since I was trying the tuna tar tar I opted for a steak as my main course. The tuna was pleasantly presented but was over spiced which ruined the taste of the fish. I also ordered a mixed greens salad with a balsamic dressing. The greens had a dirt flavor as if they were not prepared properly. The main course came out and immediately I could see it wasn't a good cut of meat. It was grisly, fatty and thin. They went for the cheep meat, but charged a premium price for it. On top of that it was over cooked. Visually, you could tell it was left on the cook top too long on one side. I asked for medium rare, but it was medium at best. The best part of this meal was the baked potato (It was actually perfect) and the Saratoga sparkling water (large size only), also the coffee. The server was polite, however, I felt very rushed and even though all the food came out very quickly, when it was time to get the bill and leave, it took a lot longer than it should have. All in all the best part about this venue is it's location. There are many restaurants in the area that serve a much better steak and for the price, I felt ripped off and cheated. It was my first experience at Nick & Stef's, there won't be a second.
Food was very good.
Service was great, despite the restaurant getting busy before the U2 concert.
We had 5 guests and there were no complaints.
Drinks were refilled promptly
We have used nick and Stef for dining before Garden events for many years and have always been pleased. But this meal was just seriously overpriced and underwhelming taste wise. I'm inclined to give up on the place in the future. I don't want a meal to feel like a mortgage payment especially when I could do better at home for $50 instead of $450 for 4 people. And we paid for our cocktails at the bar and ordered from the cheap end of the wine list! I know how to cook a poem chop better than they did and it shouldn't cost $36 to stick it on a plate with no accompaniments.
I really enjoy this restaurant. They always take my party on time which is important because we eat there before events at MSG. The menu has many offerings. I especially love their steaks and sides. Their wine list has many choices also.
Great restaurant. Surprised their were so many empty tables.
Service and food were excellent. Met a friend and were catching up...staff did not rush us and highly recommend.
All of our Steaks were perfectly prepared, very attentive service from Edward. Nice seasonal specials. I would defiantly recommend this restaurant.
We’ll be back!
Great place to eat before a show, especially at MSG. Go there all the time for that and am never disappointed.
We had a great time everyone was very attentive!! Food was delicious. We even had an incident with bill (our fault) and they couldn’t have been more understanding
Entertained a client at a midweek dinner. The food was good, a couple of minor food prep issues were quickly corrected. Our server was very helpful and cheerful. I would go back.
Nick and Stef's was great...Went before Billy Joel Concert...Perfect location....Service was great...food was awesome...Very expensive but well worth it...
Always a great place for great food, especially before a great concert!!
We were here for my wife’s birthday ,,place was cozy and inviting ,,food was good ,,our server Anthony was very informative and made us feel welcome
Great business dinner in a location that is easy for many to commute.
WE had the opportunity to visit several upscale restaurants on our visit to New York, but by far the Best Experience with staff was at Nick and Stef's. We had tickets to MSG and made an early reservation. We were sat immediately and greeted by a wonderful waitress named Patrica. She did not rush us, made us feel welcome. Discussed the menu and made suggestions. She was terrific. As the evening progressed, the noise level increased and the restaurant became very crowded. It was hard to carry a conversation at a normal voice level. The food was good and the cost was in line with other mid to high level restaurants. We would definitely go back.
Went before the Billy Joel concert. Perfect location with its private entrance to MSG! Patricia, our waitress, was super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious - we had the shrimp cocktail, lobster cocktail, a petite filet, and the rib steak, Mac and cheese. Finished off by sharing a peach cobbler. Very crowded and was noisy, but to be expected with the concert. Highly recommend!!
Great Steaks! Actually everything on the menu is good! Highly recommend!!
Great business lunch spot neat Penn! Steak and seafood was great.
the Cajun scallops were great!
Good wine buy the glass.
The food from the appetizers to the main course exceptional the service was just as good
Great dining experience .we were seated immediately. Our waiter was great and the food was excellent. I was hoping for a better choice of desserts. We certainly will dine here again!
Another great biz dinner at N&S. Menu is perfect and specials were welcomed too. Service very attentive and on this evening the restaurant was not crowded, so the noise level was actually pretty quiet.
Quality on everything was great - waiter was great too, although couldve checked in on us a bit more. Most disappointing was that the 2 sides we ordered came out about 12 - 13 minutes after the main course.
Good Food, Nice Environment. Pricey but worth the money.
The food was bland and overpriced. I asked for a medium rare steak and got more medium. Ordered a salad and never got it.
~~VERY GOOD FOOD~~
We were able to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday night and were very pleased. Our server was professional and knowledgeable with the menu. The food was excellent and came out quickly. We assume it is busier when there is an event at MSG or during the week. We enjoyed our dinner with much.
Excellent as usual!
Delicious as always with a very high standard of service. One of my favorite places in NYC!
Went to Billy Joel.. perfect here for an event @ the Garden‼️ Service was on point.. crazy busy all at once.. Kitchen & staff did a great job. Food was good. A few good wines.. we were all fine♥️‼️
Awesome food and drinks! Great service!
Overall great experience the service Awww fantastic. All of the food choices were delicious and the chef was accommodating for allergies.
All had a great time.
Was good but too expensive. Chose only due to location
Nick & Stef’s, “We continually strive to offer exceptional cuisine...”, not true. So disappointing...As a VIP Open Table user I frequently write reviews of the exceptional, good, not so good and bad restaurant experiences. We were attending the Pink concert at MSG and as N & S’s is literally inside MSG, and been in business for a longtime, I assumed, mistake, the food quality, presentation, atmosphere and service would be commensurate with the prices, not so. I ordered the tuna tartare and roasted chicken. So very far from, “exceptional cuisine”. I’ll leave it at that. Server was attentive. Restaurant atmosphere needs a facelift.
The service and atmosphere were good, and the food was good, but nothing special.
In my opinion, for the price it was a bit disappointing.
Had a business dinner for 5. The wine was good, sides were good but the main dishes: steaks were underwhelming to say it nicely. When you pay more than $60 for a bone-in Ribeye, you expect a great steak. Steak was thin (about 1/4 of inch) and very fatty. Colleagues mentioned their steak (dry aged) was not tasty or memorable either. Other than that, service was very good. When mistake was made with the side dishes it was quickly corrected without extra charge.
I have been here a few times and although convenient when attending a concert at garden (they have entrance you can use straight into MSG from restaurant), my Wedge Salad was awful: 1/2 of iceberg itself was inedible (yellow and bitter), tiny amount of blue cheese crumbles and bacon, over ripe tomatoe.
Asked waitress to split check 3 ways and they put entire amount on my card AND charged my friends’ each their amount.
Overpriced for quality of food.
Will not bother giving them another try
