Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse - New York Ratings and Reviews
Nick & Stef's is a classic New York City steakhouse in the best sense of the term. The meat is outstanding, the preparation is precise, appetizers, sides, and desserts are excellent. The service is spot on from the podium to the bar to the table: when you need someone, they are there and they do the job just the way you want them to and they are pleasant about it.
disappointing experience..have been a repeat diner but was not enthusiastic about the experience..steak was mediocre at best..meat wasn't cooked correctly had to be returned..over $600 for 3 people despite wine(2 bottles $75 per) I thought a bit pricey given overall experience..this isn't Lugers..!!
Perfect place to have a great steak before going to Madison Square Garden. Best to book as soon as possible if you want to get a dinner time to your liking. Wait staff was cognizant we had a concert to go to and made sure we had everything in a timely fashion.
Went to a show at MSG. Great location. Classy restaurant. Real table clothes. Friendly professional staff. Calamari was good. Light and fluffy. Steak cooked to MR correctly. However $66 for a steak is over priced. $11 for fries is over priced. Overall we had a good time. Would not pay these prices unless I was going to MSG. Next time I will eat before I go.
Great location near Madison Square Garden. But, the food was just average, the wait staff was nice enough, but tried on two occasions to take my wife's cocktail and get another one for her, and she was only half done with the first and hadn't asked for a second drink! The cocktails themselves were average at best. And, I'd be willing to pay for an adequate meal and drinks at a great location (we were going to see a show at MSQ, so the location for dinner was ideal) but not for the price they charged. Way too expensive for the quality.
Great steaks, but the price point did not match service and presentation of food. Hostess was nice, but dropped menus and left before seated. Waiter was ok. Steaks were good, but less than impressive in presentation.
Charging high-end prices should include every facet of the experience of dining there; from the time you are greeted until the time you leave and everything in between.
Roger was our server, he was amazing, attentive and made us feel at home! Food was good, we were the last party to dine on a Sunday night, not sure if because we were 1 steak was over cooked. But food over all was good.
I would go again just got Roger though.
The restaurant is at Madison Square Garden. There are few alternatives nearby to eat before an event at the Garden. The prices are full NY steak restaurant, but the quality mixed. My daughter's fish was underdone, they took it back, and then the asparagus was under cooked and hard. Haricots Vert were dripping in butter and oily. On the whole, people only go here because of the location. My expectations were for average and expensive, and I would have been Ok with that; but, it was decidedly below average.
Ate here before a 6pm show at the MSG theater. It's an expensive steakhouse, nothing particularly special about it other than its location (below MSG). Steaks were great, sides were just ok (creamed spinach was served lukewarm).
Wine was good. It's worth going to before a Knicks game or something at the MSG theater. Other than that it's over priced for what you get as compared to other steakhouses.
Service was non existent, felt very rushed into ordering and eating even though restaurant was not full and we had not been their long at all
Steaks were fatty and low quality but very expensive
We were celebrating a special occasion and left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed
We were late 30 min.for our reservation due to traffic. We were going to a concert and were pressed for time. Not sure we could still make the concert if we ate dinner we chanded it. Our waitress was so great, she made sure our meal was served in a timely manner so as not to be late. Our steaks were done to perfect. It was a great night. Great food and an amazing concert.
The two reasons I chose to eat here were the proximity to Madison Square Garden and the restaurant's reputation. The food was excellent as expected, the service was top-notch and a pleasant surprise. The tables are way too close together so as a consequence the entire place feels jam-packed, which I don't enjoy. I would only return when I plan to go to the Garden for another weekday night event.
