The best part of this restaurant is its location - right next to Madison Square Garden. The service is the next best part as it was excellent. The food was mediocre. I had a steak that was not very good - not much flavor and obviously a lower grade. My wife had the salmon which she thought was quite good. Maybe that is the best thing to eat at this steakhouse- skip the steak and go for the fish.
Enjoyed and had the pleasure meeting the governor of N.J The food was what l expected for l have enjoyed and recommend to my friends
The food is incredible and the location couldn't be better being attached to Madison Square Garden. It is a bit pricey but it is New York and the food is incredible.
Our favorite place before a game, even if it was the last NYR game of the season! Food always perfect, service attentive, wine delish. See you in October. LGR
I first came to love N&S’s because of the delightful variety of sauces to accompany the steaks. It was years ago, but it was a distinguishing factor. Currently, there are fewer sauces than there were back in the day.
Other than that, we had an excellent meal. Service was very good and the staff honored my request for a quiet table off on the side. I’d recommend N&S as a place to go even if you are NOT headed for an event at MSG.
It's really expensive and the food wasnt outstanding.
The food was amazing. I was visiting NYC for a few days and my cousins wanted to have steak and this restaurant came up. The pictures looked amazing! The food itself was delicious too! It was just misfortunate that they ran out of ribeye by 8pm on a Saturday night.
Best jumbo lump crabmeat cocktail i've ever had in my entire life!! Great service and hospitality, plus you can dress casual with jeans, nice t-shirt and sneaks if desired. Great filet mignon and lobster tail is phenomenal!! One of my favorite steakhouse ever! 5 star dining without the stuffy attire or atmosphere.
Raul our waiter was fantastic. Food was excellent. A must go to restaurant when visiting Madison square garden.
Great dinner with my family before the Kiss concert. Staff very friendly. Food came out as ordered.
Restaurant could use a facelift food was good service was excellent great location if you are going to the Garden or Penn Station menu had plenty of choices I would recommend this restaurant
Our service was inexplicably very slow. We waited a long time for menus, waited a long time to take our orders, waited a long time for the food, waited a long time for the dessert, waited a long time for the check. The place was half full so i'm not sure what caused the painfully slow service.
the food was good and was fairly priced, our waiters were friendly, good location, good ambiance, just really really slow service.
Nice dining room - had the $59 three course special available after 8PM
The crab cake was delicious, hanger steak, beef rib, apple cobbler and cheesecake
Good Sangiovese red wineà
Service friendly and efficient
Woul recommend and return
Amazing steak before Billy Joel. Cant beat it!!!
Always a fun, yet pricy pre-concert place to grab food!!
Prices are a tad high especially salads/sides..
Extremely loud and always packed.
Service is hit or miss..
This is a standard priced (expensive) steakhouse for NY. The steak was a little bit salty as was the sauce I got (red wine bordelaise), however the peppercorn sauce my husband got was great. What was most disappointing is that the sides are extremely expensive ($11-13 for vegetables or fries). We got parmesan truffle fries and the fries are literally the same type of fries they sell at McDonald's - pre-frozen fries that are just heated up and sprinkled with parmesan and truffle. I do not think that pre-frozen fries should cost $13. A restaurant who sees themselves at a high caliber should be serving hand-cut fries or at least fries that arent pre-made.
Terrific restaurant not matter the event. We normally go prior to a game at MSG, but I have had lunch there prior to taking a train from Penn Station.
Truly excellent steakhouse. Best restaurant in the area for Garden events.
Attended the night of a Big East basketball tournament. Restaurant was extremely crowded; not sure if that is the norm or due to an event at Madison Square Garden. Noise level is high when restaurant is crowded. Food was delicious; servers were very attentive even with such a large crowd. Would definitely go back again!
Packed for Big East tourney, hit the spot!
Nick and Stef's is consistently amazing. The food is always excellent and the staff is so wonderful and efficient. Highly recommend!
The staff was excellent had an issue with a appetizer which I sent back the manager was so apologetic he took off app and comp a desert and drink for this reason I will return for dinner when I go to my next event at MSG
It was my husbands birthday (I indicated this when I booked) no one recognized this occasion which I found disappointing. What’s the point of asking what the occasion is if it’s not recognized? Our server was trying to take our order before we even sat down, I was literally not even in my chair before he asked what I wanted to drink. The food came extremely fast which to me means it’s not made to order. No one filled our wine glasses, we did all the pouring ourselves. My husband enjoyed his steak, my fish was good but the potatoes were lukewarm at best. I was supposed to have hollandaise sauce on my fish but alas it was not there. When I inquired the server went and got the cold hollandaise without even an apology. I told our server it was my husbands birthday and he didn’t even say anything. The service was POOR the food was good. If you enjoy crappy service and good food this place is for you. We won’t be back and won’t be recommending this establishment to anyone.
Wonderful food. Great location. Great service. It was a nice walk from GCT and effortless to go from here into MSG
Excellent steakhouse! I had the fillet mignon with a side of lobster mashed potatoes and cream spinach and it was divine!
No better place to grab a steak before an event at MSG. Guest and I had a filet and tbone, which were both top notch. Only negative comment is the table - ended up at a table for 2 against the back wall where all the tables were right on top of the next - literally could not squeeze by the folks next to you and it was almost like a table for 4. I can appreciate wanting to dine/serve as many guests as possible, but there were also other open tables for 2 in corners, which they seemed to have saved (I had made a reservation ahead of time).
This was my firs time here and everything about Nick and Stef's was above my expectations. I dined on the petite filet mignon, sautéed spinach and started with the tomato and mozzarella salad. All were done to perfection. The filet was by far one of the most tender and flavorful pieces of steak that I have had . The atmosphere was very nice and the noise level was so that you could talk to the others at the table without shouting. I normally seem to dine at Keens or Wolfgangs when in the city, but wanted to try something different and I am very glad I did. I will be back to Nick and Stef's on my next visit to the city
Conveniently located - if you're taking the LIRR or seeing an event at MSG - great steaks, great service and nice atmosphere. The wait staff was very friendly, our porterhouse for two was cooked to perfection and the slab of bacon was incredible. A nice indulgence once in a while.
Always great food!!!
Food was good & service excellent!!!!
Good food, varied menu, nice atmosphere and great service
Perfect location for pre-show dinner before Elton John!
Always wonderful food and service! Have been there several times and look forward to coming back!
We had dinner before going to a concert at MSG. So convenient and everything was excellent! Portion sizes were big. Food was cooked perfectly.
We really enjoyed the food and the service.
Really superb meal. My guest and I had a terrific time. Service was excellent. Server was very personable and made great suggestions.
Steak wasn’t a nice cut unfortunately - ordered medium but half was well done half was medium. The biggest issue that this restaurant had to resolve is the wine by the glass list - the highest priced cab on the standard price list at 19 dollars and this was a cheap poor choice on your behalf. Good for your margins, bad for the customer. I often see this strategy at certain restaurants and it’s a poor one where the by the glass options at the highest price point are poor (not just my taste but in rating). The high end wine list started around 30 dollars which isn’t realistic - even in NYC which I dine frequently.
Excellent service and even better food. Despite doing there on a Rangers game night, we were not rushed at all
The staff was wonderful and made us feel right at home. We will return.
Excellent staff and delicious food, would highly recommend!
