Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse - Los Angeles
Great food with great service. Was my first time here and the service they provided was wonderful.
My boyfriend and I wanted to come in for the dinela special. We saw that the dry aged ribeye was part of the three course meal and of course we wanted to take advantage to try it. Originally I had requested to sit in the booth. Unfortunately the host told us there were none available. However, she was able to find us a window table which was still nice. From the beginning Victor gave us excellent service and recommended us cocktails that went well with our entrees. Jorge who I believe is the manager was also superb to helping giving us an spectacular experience.
The petite filet mignon was perfect, the szechuan long beans side was delicious and the dessert was amazing. The Moscow mules weren't bad either. A great dining experience!
The main dining room is dark, feels sterile with no character and it is impossibly noisy. The food is generally reliable but I ordered my steak medium rare and it was raw in the middle.
Having previously dined at Patina, I had high hopes for Nick & Stef's as it is part of Patina Group.
The staff, ambiance and decor was lovely. However, the food was not. I went for lunch and because they were offering a DineLA menu, I decided to partake. I ordered the kale and goat cheese salad and the steak and fries. The salad was decent, but the steak was awful. It was tough and chewy, and I had to chew on my first bite for a solid 3 minutes. Our server was kind and apologetic, offering to fire up another steak (no thanks) or change my order to the fish option (I politely declined). My date and I both ordered the steak, so we left hungry and had to go to another restaurant. Disappointed.
Nice to be offered annual birthday certificate to be redeemed for a delicious lunch.
Muy buena comida
It was great, Nick + Stef is always the go to.
They messed up my clients meal although they did not charge us it still made for an uncomfortable lunch.
Lovely restaurant! The staff very friendly, our waiter Will provided great service and extremely friendly. Manager Jorge was also friendly and gave us a free dessert. Will definitely come back to this restaurant!
We had an enjoyable anniversary dinner. I made a reservation earlier in the day. I asked for a seat with a view as it was our anniversary. They sat us at a very small table by a window which wasn't what I had in mind. Other than that, our steaks were perfect. The Mac and cheese was okay and the asparagus was delicious. The restaurant was hard to find due to construction, but the free parking made up for that. Overall a great anniversary dinner and we will definitely be back!
Date night for us Texans visiting California
The hospitality and customer service here was so great friendly but still professional!
We were a party of 2 on a Tuesday, 12:15 lunch seating in the interior dining room, just past the bar/front dining area. We started off with attentive service - lots of servers to take care of water, popovers, etc. Our waitperson did just fine, the food arrived and was delicious, good value in the prix fixe menu. My salmon was perfect, the caesar salad predictably good, my brother's hangar steak cooked to perfection, the gazpacho served with flower petals. Sadly, after we finished our lunch, the dishes were cleared and the table was not wiped down, and our waitperson went AWOL. The dining room was 1/3 full, and after 15 minutes we hailed the hostess for a dessert menu. It took another few minutes for the waitperson to reappear, and we had to ask to have the table wiped down. Disappointing service for this level of restaurant - the crowds were light and our waitperson didn't do any of the heavy lifting - did she go on break?
Best gazpacho and salmon I've had in a long time. Even the popover was amazing. I will definitely be recommending and returning myself!
We primarily came by for Dine LA, so we only had that menu. The restaurant itself is very stunning & relaxing to dine in. Since we were here for lunch, I’m sure the night view is gorgeous!
The server never smiled, or seemed friendly. Maybe she was just bored, it seemed like she was reading off a script. Anyway, I’m not here to complain about that. They brought us a cheesy biscuit, which was ok, but just too crazy salty for both of us. We each had a salad, my friends baby kale salad looked great! My Caeser salad was ok, the dressing had no flavor. Our main entree was hangar steak & fries. My friends medium rare, was extremely rare. The manager took it back, and the recooked it. My medium had few very rare spots, but I was too hungry to complain. Plus both our steaks were very over salted. The garlic fries, were too crispy, but still just ok. They brought us a small bowl of elote corn, that was very good! I would probably dine here again, maybe for dinner, and give it a second chance.
Enjoyed this excellent restaurant with family to celebrate a birthday. The service was fantastic & the food was amazing!!!
It was our 10th Anniversary. It was a perfect place for us. My wife has a very specific diet and I like my steak just-so, and all dishes we outstanding. The chef(s) hit the spot on all fronts: appetizers, entrees, dessert. The house pinot was just delicious, like nectar, but not so much that it was fruity.
Will, our server, made sure we were taken care of. We appreciate the entire serving staff as well, as they all helped us at some point.
The next day we pondered which was better, dinner or the concert. Considering it was Paul McCartney, I'd say that is a great compliment to Nick & Steph's.
First time here, had to try the dry-aged ribeye. There was a Restaurant Week prix fixe going on which was great. Server was outstanding, even took the time to explain the dry aging process and show us around a little. Overall great experience and worth every penny.
Steak left much to be desired. Lacking much flavor and not as tender as you might expect from a filet. However the Au Gratin potatoes were good, along with the poppers presented before the meal.
enjoyed so much!
Amazing meal, the food was of the highest quality. The on site dry aging is such a unique touch that brings the steaks to the next level. Our server and the managers David and Marlon made the evening very special. Hands down the best steakhouse in Los Angeles.
As always, terrific food; terrific service. Did something different this time - two luncheon specials: Grilled Barramundi and Gazpacho with shrimp - Excellent! (especially for a primo steak house). N&S's remains a "go-to" favorite.
My husband and I went to celebrate our birthdays. We ordered the whiskey and steak trios, and it was probably some of the best steak I’ve ever had in my entire life. The dining room got a little bit loud just because of the number of people, but nothing that would keep us from returning.
Had a very good time. Very good service staff. They took care of my girlfriend and I.
This was so delicious. The staff was so helpful. I loved the cool mad men vibes with the round booths. Will def go again when I visit DTLA
My fiancé and I just celebrated our fifth anniversary here and it was our third consecutive anniversary dinner at Nick and Stef’s. We always get the tomahawk steak and it is always worth the price. Our server James was wonderful. Even the general manager George made a point to come over and speak with us and congratulate us on our anniversary and thanking us for choosing Nick and Stef’s for our annual anniversary dinner. The food is always five stars and the service is always even better. We plan to keep going back for years to come.
Where to start. We live in Las Vegas and wanted to come to Los Angles to surprise our parents for there anniversary. Through online research we decided to come to Nick and Stef’s for our special occasion. The service at this restaurant was outstanding. The manager George bought complementary champagne to the table to start our incredible evening. Our waiter Scot was the best server. He was very attentive to our needs and was very knowledgeable about all the menu items and helpful when it came to us ordering. Every appetizer, steak, sides, sauces and drinks were phenomenal. The food at Nick and Stef’s was the best we have ever had. At the end of dinner an amazing anniversary desert came to the table. We have not smiled or had such an amazing dinner/ service ever. Thank you George, Scot, and the entire staff at Nick and Stef’s for making our special occasion so special. You went above and beyond. And we can’t wait to visit you again when we are back in Los Angeles. Thank you.
Awesome place to dine and the hospitality was outstanding! Thank you!
Steaks were great. The look and feel has lost something over the years though. Construction going on outside probably made it seem sleepy too. I’d go back, but after the construction is finished.
Overall it was good. Had a great time on a last visit so decided to take friends out. This time the food didn't seem as great as it was the last time. However, it was still a nice lunch experience.
We were seated quickly. Service was pretty good but they could have checked on us a little more and our server could have been a little more cheerful. We ordered a couple drinks one was amazing and the other one was way too strong; some people might like that but I like my drinks well balanced. Food was absolutely amazing. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the attention to detail was definitely there. Our meal was almost $300. It was a little more expensive than we were expecting but definitely worth it.
Went for a group dinner before the symphony and was underwhelmed by both the service and the food. The Japanese wagyu was phenomenal but the regular items were all just ok.
We were out on a 'date' night and everything was spectacular. From the oysters to crab cake and scallop appetizers that were outstanding. And the dry-aged New York steaks that melt in your mouth. Finished off by a chocolate soufflé to die for. Couldn't have asked for more.
Great place for business lunch. May be best in town for low key atmosphere and sensitive staff.
Food was wonderful and they gave us the best services
It was by far one of the best filets I’ve ever had. My boyfriend and I got the bone in ribeye, filet mignon, mac n cheese, divers scallops, and the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the dessert wasn’t overly sweet either. What I found was the most surprising was honestly the complimentary cheese bread. That was delicious and something I honestly would’ve paid money for. 10/10 would recommend and can’t wait to go back!
I have been coming here for 6 years with my boyfriend, and it is by far our favorite place to dine in LA! The food is absolutely phenomenal, we've tried several other places on the west side (closer to our home) and they don't compare. Between the exceptional food and wonderful service, it's impossible to beat. Do yourself a favor and dine here, you won't regret it!!
This is one of the best dining experiences that we have had in the US. Our Server was knowledgeable and friendly. The Dining room was clean and organized, bust boys very professional. The FOOD was MAGNIFICENT. I had the grass fed filet and it was extremely tender. The Potato Gratin was wonderful as well.
An incredible beginning to a night at the LA Opera. Wonderful food and a very nice atmosphere that was perfect for a celebration. The table-side Cesar Salad was particularly delicious and watching the waiter prepare the salad was also a treat in itself! The steaks were spectacular (we both had filets) and the sides (mushrooms, brussle sprouts and gratin) complimented the meal perfectly. The desert and tea ended the meal on a high note, and the shuttle was a nice touch to finish the meal.
