About Niche Restaurant
Niche began its story ten years ago when the historic post office in picturesque downtown Geneva was transformed into a space to bring the community a new source of culinary enlightenment. The response to our quest was well received and encouraged the evolving staff to continually strive for perfection. Delving farther into the traditions of the Earth’s diverse cultures, our goal is to balance the exotic with the familiar. Global diversification of ideas and practices introduces guests to a whole new experience each time they dine with us. An accompaniment to our rotating menu ranging from Small Plates to well orchestrated Entrees is an impressive list of carefully selected beer, wine, and spirits.

Niche Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We went to Niche for my husbands Bday. I am always on the look out for good restaurants but finding one that has quality food and bourbon is a difficult find especially when your husband is as in to bourbon as mine! I heard about Niche from a friend and at first was a bit skeptical they would have all the bourbon they listed on the website/menu but let me say they did NOT disappoint. We loved everything about this place. The food, the people, the atmosphere, and the cocktails/bourbon. They have an extensive list that will satisfy even the most sophisticated critic (my husband). The owner was behind the bar serving drinks and was super nice and knowledgeable. The food was ridiculously good!! The music was also on point! The only thing we didn’t get was the cotton candy for my hubbys Bday which I was a little disappointed about! I told them it was his Bday and was told that was the “Bday” dessert but it never came! Oh well. We had a blast. Can’t wait to go back and maybe next time they will hook me up with that cotton candy😉
We had a very nice dinner at Niche on a Saturday night. They were completely booked and unfortunately, we had a table right by the door to the kitchen. Some of the tables for 2 are very close to each other, so you can hear the conversation from the people next to you.
The food was great. The lamb was cooked very nicely. The swordfish was delicious. The pot de creme for dessert was very good as well.
Our first time at Niche and we will definitely return. We were not disappointed in any aspect of our dinner. Wonderful, creative menu -- a great, masterful chef; terrific service; and nice ambiance. The best restaurant in all respects that we have been to in a long time.
Lovely ambiance. The service was knowledgeable with an extensive drink list. The beef tartar app was amazing! The soup was delicious and trout and beef entrees were full of amazing flavors. GET THE BRUSSLE SPROUTS! Will be back and recommend this for date night or special occasion.
I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and it was perfect! He loves whiskey, which is why I chose this place. Being out of town, I really don't know where people eat around here! Highly recommend this place. The waiter was nice enough to bring us a complimentary cotton candy dessert even though we said we had cake at home afterwards :) Great experience and will definitely be back! The brussel sprouts & fried chicken were by far our favorite menu items!
This is a very nice set up right off of 3rd St in downtown Geneva. The atmosphere is upscale and the mood is quiet and sophisticated. Expect a very long break between courses to take it all in. The food was quite good, although not plentiful/filling. While it was indeed delicious, we found ourselves wandering around looking for a more wallet friendly way to treat ourselves afterwards.
A great downtown Geneva restaurant with an excellent bar and always top notch food. A little pricey but never disappoints with quality, taste and ambiance. Don’t stay away because of price...stop by for a drink at the bar and order some “small bites”. Less expense and very good food there too. Drinks...especially bourbon-based, are top shelf!!
Everything was outstanding! I've eaten at some fine restaurants around the world, most recently, in Australia and must say that the service, ambiance, lighting, candles, coziness, service, and food were top shelf! The variety of food, fresh ingredients and presentation stand up against the best. Service was very welcoming and non-pretentious... LOVE IT! We'll be back VERY SOON... Cheers! (P.S. GREAT Martini's and blue cheese olives!)
The food and service were both outstanding. Every course was exciting and unique, and although pricey- honestly worth it. The experience and ambiance alone were worth the cost. The dessert courses are different and fun, and sooo delicious. I had a great time, and will definitely be returning.
I took my husband and my 2 foodie tweens to Niche for my hubby's bday. The menu is on the small side but nicely varied. We all commented how we could easily make a meal out of the appetizers as that portion of the menu was fantastic. We had the cheese plate, sausage platter and mussels. The sausages were very flavorful and came with wonderful garlicky bread. The entrees were small (scallops only contained 3 scallops and not much else) but very good, although they contained too many components making it a challenge to find an entire entree that did not require modifications or pushing some food to the side.
We have eaten at Niche many times, usually for special occasions such our anniversary and birthdays. We have never been disappointed. Steve, our waiter, is excellent. He is able to answer any question and make recommendations. The food and service are exceptional. Niche is our preferred place to go for dinner.
To dine at Niche requires a desire to be part of a culinary experiment. The menu was so unique and unusual that there was literally only one item on it that my wife and I like. The rest seem to have been added without regard to patrons, just to demonstrate how "creative" chefs an be. WE will not be back. In addition, the seating was cramped. AND, like the food menu, the liquor selection carried almost NO standards. Who offers scotch whiskey and doesn't include at least a couple vintages of Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, and/or Balvenie? So all-in-all, this was a disappointment. I won't be back.
