   We should not have been surprised by the excellent experience we had at Nice Matin since EVERY table was taken on this Wednesday evening, but we were since we had bypassed this restaurant several times before checking it out. We were staying at the Lucerne and finally decided to have dinner next door at Nice Matin--what a wonderful experience. From the bread to the final bites of our Moules Mariniere and Moroccan Salmon, we were delighted. So good. We will definitely return again.

   Once again, Lisa (the GM) and her staff did not disappoint. For a birthday celebration is was really nice, dependable, and comfortable. The only thing that made it less than perfect was the doors being open to Amsterdam Avenue and a few interruptions to our conversation when fire trucks and ambulances sped past. Thanks again, Lisa. Dinner was a treat, as always.

   Very interesting menu with many choices of adventuresome and classic appetizers, pasta, and entrees. Good service, loud on a Sunday night.

   It’s such a cheerful way to begin a Sunday, even an unseasonably cold one. The food and beverage are wonderful (avocado omelet, soled salmon with bagel and trimmings, today a usually off-our-diet side order of bacon, and the orange juice that’s better than in the Caribbean) and consistently so. The service (including the hostesses) is smart and welcoming.

   Everyone at the table was very happy with their dish. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious! The service was top notch. We weren’t rushed at all. We ate between lunch and dinner but still had a great selection for “late lunch”. Would highly recommend!

   I booked Nice Matin after I was unable to secure a reservation at Cafe Lux (they had no water today). And NM was wonderful. Great service, good food, etc., and really appreciated the fact that we never felt rushed. Thank you for a great time.

    We were left unattended for half an hour while staff had the lunch meeting. This should happen BEFORE there are guests! The waiter needs additional training as well
