What Insiders Are Saying
Nice Matin is an upscale French spot with lunch, brunch and dinner.
Great French restaurant always consistent !
Friendly and good servers.
delicious and staff was so polite.
We met family from Europe and the restaurant did not disappoint us. Great location and the table was very comfortable for five people. Definitely worth going back to
I am a former New Yorker, practiced dentistry for 44 on 50th Street. Now I am retired in Naples,Florida with my wife
And good food is hard to find. I had dinner at Nice Matin with my son who works in Manhattan and between the
Good company and food, you made our night. The tuna tartare and the duck were delicious.
The only setback is the size of the restaurant, too small, tables too close together.
I went for a nice dinner before a show at The Beacon theater juts a few short blocks away. always enjoyable. the pre fixe Hanger Steak, Winter salad and Lobster Spaghetti are standouts. Nice wines by the glass and very friendly service. There's a Bansky graffiti painting on the Broadway corner!
My favorite neighborhood restaurant with good flavorful food and varied menu, attractive decor, good service. My only problem is the noise level, which can be quite loud when the restaurant is even half-full. For that reason, I particularly like coming the Nice Matin when the weather is good and I can eat at a sidewalk table rather than inside.
Very disappointing meal. Everything we had (4 people) was just "OK". So many better choices in the neighborhood.
Good service and very good food!
Pleasant atmosphere and the best Chopin Vodka cosmopolitans.
I’d pass... it was fair at best. I love a good bistro and this did not meet my expectation at all. Sad to have waisted an evening at such a mediocre place... maybe we missed something?
Remains a good UWS choice for dinner. Very attentive service, extensive wine list, nice selection of food. The prix fixe is well worth choosing, generally delicious food nicely presented.
I just discovered Nice Matin after walking by - and somehow not picking up that it was right around the corner. The restaurant has excellent food, with authentic French cuisine throughout the entire menu. In spite of being packed, the restaurant offers the right kind of ambiance for conversation and relaxing. The staff are professional and keep an eye on how you are progressing without overstepping - let you relax, enjoy the food and your company. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us away from the door and migrate slowly from the bar. The za'atar crusted lamb and the chicken pailliard were excellent; the salads are wonderful and generous - and the homemade cookies are worth the calories! I intend to come back...
The service and food never disappoint. My lamb burger on a bed of greens and tomatoes was full of flavorful herbs.
The other three members of my party enjoyed their orders, too.
Our server was lovely. Attentive , but not intrusive.
This was not my first visit to Nice Matin and I will return.
Good food attractively served.Friendly service.Good location.
Three friends getting together. Each of us ordered a salad. We waited at least thirty minutes for them.
The order-to-serve time was really bad.
We’ve been here many times. This is the first time service has been this slow.
Not noteworthy - neither good nor bad - we were early (5 pm) and two women.... so largely ignored by service staff.
This restaurant never disappoints. One of our standbys on the UWS.
LOVE Nice Matin...I have been coming here for years! Very consistent.
Charming Server and nice food.
We love this restaurant. The wait staff are so attentive and the wine list is terrific! We recommended it to my nephew who dined there with his wife and friends the next day.
Great food. The Cotes du Rhone they were pouring by the glass was quite good. Service was efficient -- but not particularly friendly or personal. I would definitely recommend.
Although perfectly fine Nice Marin is nothing more than average.
We enjoyed delicious, creative food in a warm European style bistro setting.
Nice Matin is always a wonderful experience. The food is beautifully prepared, delicious, and healthy. The restaurant itself is a delight, a place that makes a customer feel relaxed and ready to socialize. I go back to Nice Matin whenever I can!
Nice place, excellent wine list - had a nice bottle of Languedoc red.
Started with Pissaladiere - just okay, not great. Ordered Za'atar lamb as the main course - tough, stringy, drowned in Za'atar to the point where it was unclear what we were eating.
I won't go back - there are better places offering similar fare - for example, Cafe d'Alsace on the east side is much better at a similar price level.
Great food, service, ambiance, and overall happiness from all staff. You'll love this place, I know I did.
We had a pleasant late lunch there: croque madam sandwich for me and a salade nicoise for my lunch mate. Both were fresh and nicely presented. Our two glasses of mundane wines were $24, pleasant French table wines. Service was fine. Place reminds of of a small Parisian cafe.
Food was great and well priced
Salmon was good, steak mediocre, fries inedible. Chocolate dessert mediocre. Nice atmosphere.
This restaurant is amazing, service outstanding! We dine in New York at least twice month and we live in Bucks county PA. We seldom return the same restaurant more then once in New York as there is such a huge selection in NY, Nice Matin is the exception.
Seemed like only 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. A 9:15 booking and we got food at 10:30.
Excellent food, great selection of vegetables, good wine list.
Terrific neighborhood bistro with a world class winelist and a superb sommelier to guide you through it.
The restaurant was attached to our hotel and so convenience was a big plus; then we got our food and wow! Delicious is an understatement! The mushroom risotto was the best I’ve ever had! Very nice service and cozy ambience!
Authentic French, great food, great neighborhood, nice service, elegant local crowd.
It's the perfect spot for a casual lunch with lots of selections for all different tastes.
I had a delicious vegetable soup and an arugula salad that were both declicious and healthy.
My dining partner had Shakshuka and said it was perfectly executed. Luckily there was a quiet table in the corner by the bar since there was business to be discussed - the rest of the restaurant can get quite noisy.
Prices were fair and sensible, portions were generous. One of the West Side's best.
Consistently good food, customer-focused and courteous service, value-added to the neighborhood, conveniently located in an appealing corner venue.
The food was excellent the server was very good not intrusive. The tables are a little close together but this is Manhattan so kind of expect that. Prices are very reasonable.
We've been coming here for nearly a decade; they offer an engaging range of affordable Mediterranean dishes with a very deep (if pricey) wine list--which explains why they're consistently crowded. Generally they're very reliable, but our most recent visit made us worry that the kitchen is slipping. For my main I ordered poached halibut (off the seasonal menu); when it came out, the center (of a fairly small piece of fish) was raw. I sent it back (first time in many dozens of visits) and the server returned with the same piece of fish, simply microwaved (which dried out everything around it). The manager was very gracious in ordering up a new plate, but the experience was disappointing. We'll hope it was just one bad night.
Carson our server was delightful. The escargot were the best I've ever eaten. Haris said salmon and tabouleh were fresh and delicious.
Great food. Great service.
