Nic & Norman's - Chattanooga
Our passion for creating special moments has adopted a passion for taking old iconic buildings and turning them into one of a kind, unique places to create those moments in.
Chattanooga is no exception. We've taken this space at the Choo Choo and kept it as authentic as we could while adding our Nic & Norman's story throughout.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

3 out of 4 dinners ordered were to perfection. I will definitely eat there again.
Great style and space. We didn’t get our drinks until our food came out. My flatbread was thick and undercooked. The basil was prepared in a way that had no flavor
The food was amazing!!! We’re coming back for sure!!! Love the pork shank and crab cakes.
We are from DC and made an Open Table reservation. Enjoyed the nice, renovated building, excellent food and drink. The service was prompt and friendly. Great place.
Food was delicious! Lots of different options included for special diets. The location is perfect and we loved that were was parking at the restaurant. The whole place gave off a 1920s speakeasy vibe which was awesome!
Definitely check out Nic and Norman's in the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo complex. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun and unique. The bar area looked especially fun with outdoor seating near the trains!
Our first experience here was unfortunately horrible. We sat at the bar. Bartender was nice. We had 70 minutes to dine before needing to leave. We ordered drinks and got them then ordered food. Then about 5 minutes later same bartender comes back and asks if we are ready to order food...we say we already did..he is like of right..clearly the order had not been put in. ok so no big deal we keep enjoying our drink. Food takes a long time to arrive.. finally comes! I have about 2 fries and one bite of my burger and discover a dark long wavy hair in my burger (I have short straight blonde hair so I know it’s not mine) I show the bartender and he asks if I want another burger...well yes of course I’m not eating this! My husband has time to finish his whole meal before my new one arrives..and it’s an impossible burger so no fear of it being raw it literally takes 2 minutes to grill. By this time we are about to be late to our plans so I tell him just to box it up because I won’t have tome to eat. It finally arrives. My husband has left to get car and I still have to get bartenders attention to get check. Then to my surprise I’m charged for the burger! I’m sorry but I feel that should of been comped or you should of brought a quick app out for me to eat as I’m starving or even a free drink but nothing!!! For a hair in my food!! I almost said something but I was in a rush and didn’t feel like being rude. Will I give them another chance...not sure....bartender was very nice but that was the only positive.
Excellent food and service. Will return
This is a nice open restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It’s basically burgers and fried food-nothing special. Wait Service and drinks are great! Definitely a place to skip.
The food was outstanding, as was the service. Very cool place!
Came here for dinner during spring break with kids. Our service was outstanding and the food was delicious!
Spent more on merchandise than the food lol. Great food and service.
Food was exquisite, perfectly prepared, and beautifully plated. Service was exceptional. Ambiance outstanding!
Great Cocktails and good food.
As always the food and service was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Chandler took great care of us. Food was decent. Burger was overcooked and cheese was left off. Sweet potato fries are delicious. Location and overall theme of restaurant is really cool.
Been here several times and it is consistently good. Every menu item we’ve tried has been delicious! Love it!
It was Great!
This was our second time dining here within a week. We enjoyed both meals immensely. The service was great. Food was all delicious and came out quickly. We will definitely be back again soon.
We’ve eaten at N the meat was undercooked, the appetizer was “ok”, & the taste was not as before.
When we asked about the noticeable differences, the reason provided was short handed in the kitchen & the appearance of food was contingent on who cooked. 😳
Fortunately, our server was great & this eased the disappointment of our experience.
We will be back, but this time it was off.
Not what I expected. Food was horrible and overpriced
Great food! Great atmosphere!
The pork shank was divine! If you visit Chattanooga, make this place your number one stop!
We were seated immediately and received food and drinks in a timely manner. Waiter was very polite and checked on us numerous times.
We went for dinner for my husbands birthday. Food was delicious! Great atmosphere!
Food was great. Waiter did not listen to order requests. Drink request wrong as was food request. Lettuce wrap burger request resulted in pretzel bun. Blood Mary Drink request of ONLY celery resulted in 2 pimento stuffed olives. Think the slow service due to waiter adding additional tables
We will be back! Hostess was great... welcoming and accomodating; Server on back patio was amazing... good timing, perfect memory (how does She do that?!), well done! Thank You!
We were excited to read about Nic & Norman's opening in Chattanooga since we had planned an anniversary get-away to the city. We arrived at the location and went to the front desk. No one was manning it. There was one lady in front of us. We waited and waited, about 20 minutes, and no one came to greet us. We could see staff moving around the bar and restaurant. Another couple came in and came in while we were waiting. They left after about ten minutes since no one bothered to come greet any of us.
My husband finally went back to the bar to see what the problem was. Finally a young lady showed up. She did not offer any apology for our wait. We were seated and the wait staff brought menus and some water. She was not friendly and was rushing us for our drink order. She also rushed us for our dinner order. Again, no friendly conversation or acknowledgement that we has specifically made reservations for our anniversary.
Our food came and it was a total disappointment. Our water was not refilled.
A total disappointment to an evening that was supposed to be a celebration for us.
Even the gift shop was poorly stocked. Maybe the other location in GA is better.
Just beware, the Chattanooga location is NOT ready to receive even one star.
Had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately it fell a little bit short. The appetizers and Caesar salad were great. We ordered the pickles and the mozzarella sticks which were basically more like cheese curds. They're quote unquote signature drinks were basically like watered down juice. I like to try new drinks when I go places instead of going to my usual but ended up having to do that after not being too impressed with their selection. The dinner fell short as well. Had the Nick's chicken and the nachos. They were honestly both just blah. My son had the burger and that was pretty good. We'll go back again with friends and do the appetizers and try a different meal.
Great atmosphere. Good cocktails. Service was excellent.
Great restaurant! Exceeded my expectations.
The service was exceptional. The salmon was fantastic, however my husbands steak wasn’t very good. The meat was tender enough, but it didn’t have a lot of flavor. I will definitely be returning because everything else was great.
The service was excellent!! It seemed like the quality of the food slacked off a bit from Valentine's day. Overall... We'll be back.
I had the lamb burger and sweet potato fries. Just delicious! Service was also great!
Food great. Waitress great!
We had a great time and a wonderful meal. The staff was friendly and very helpful, the food was delicious and more than any of us could eat in one sitting.
Great atmosphere! Great staff! Great food!!
Our dining experience was great at Nic and Norman's . It was our first time, but it will definitely not be our last. The food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant's decor is great like an old time speak easy or vintage steak house. It's so nice to have another great restaurant in Chattanooga.
We had a 7pm reservation and they were out of beef medallions entree that early on a weekend. Chocolate stout beer, which was on the menu, was also not available. Asked for dressing on the side and it was not. It was our 2nd visit and a little disappointing.
Server didn't acknowledge the "anniversary" on the reservation, didn't tell us they were out of items on the menu when we started looking over the menu which was what I wanted to order and had to change my order at the last minute. Everything was extremely salty. Burger was undercooked.
