Niagara's Finest Thai
Friday Saturday 1130am-10pm
The food was very good but found that the 2 chili pepper indication for heat was a much higher heat level than what I normally receive for that rating. Found it somewhat noisy.
This was the third time we've eaten here.
Previously we've always been very satisfied with the food, the selection, and the service.
On this visit however, we had a 7:00 show to attend so we booked in advance online. We arrived right on time at for the 6:00 o'clock reservation. There was some initial confusion as to where to seat us, but it was resolved quickly.
Because we we feeling a bit rushed we thought we'd make it an easy order and so we skipped appetizers and alcohol, and ordered only one single dish each with some fruit juice; a stir fry item for my wife and the beef salad for me.
Then we waited...over 25 minutes we sat, getting more anxious. The server then dropped by to inform us that our meal was "up next". With more than 30 minutes now gone we were unsure of whether we'd have time to eat or have to cancel and leave.
Finally the food came and we asked for the bill so that there would be no further delay when we had to go. It came, and we paid in advance.
As to the food, my wife's was excellent. It looked beautiful and and was elegantly served. She thoroughly enjoyed it. My beef "salad" however, was underwhelming, not what I was expecting. The meat was OK but it was placed on top of two small pieces of lettuce and some onion slices then spicy sauce poured over everything.
It tasted OK but the lettuce was overpowered by the heat of the sauce and rendered limp and unappetizing. And of course there wasn't a lot of it to begin with.
Hardly a salad, just meat strips and sauce. And remember, this was all I had for my meal.
We made it in time for the show but we were not relaxed and I was still hungry.
This restaurant has become a new favourite when we are in NOTL and until Sunday we've always come away very pleased with everything.
This may have been an isolated situation, and to be fair, it was busy. However, it is servicing a theatre-going clientele and to be left seated & waiting 30 minutes for a simple food order should not happen.
Great food paired with good wines, and the friedliest service ever. I recommend it!
Food is very good, but portions are small. Waited nearly 30 minutes between appetizer and main course, and there was no explanation as to why.
The food was excellent. The server recommended the perfect wine. She was attentive and informative about the menu options and was able to provide information about the various spices.
Pad Thai was excellent the mango smoothie was seriously lacking..as my 7 year old daughter stated ‘it tasted like nothing ‘-no flavor whatsoever.
A smallish restaurant close to the Shaw Theater, we thought we'd try. Service was fine, noise level was a little loud. The appetizers we tried were good. However, we opted to try their signature Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken. There were literally 2 shrimp in the dish and the flavor was somewhat fishy tasting, with very little spice. It is the only Thai restaurant in town (thus the 'finest'?), but somehow we hoped for better.
The food was good, but not as good as many other less expensive Thai restaurants where I’ve eaten.
Food was very slow to arrive.
Expensive for what you got and they messed up our order 3 times. Dining took almost 2 hours because of this.
After reading good reviews online, was excited but service was awful, poorly timed food and she acted like she had something else to do and when she talked to me she kept looking around as if she was always looking for someone. Took to long for everything and she blamed the kitchen but other tables had no issues. Food was very good and manager was receptive to issues and comped the check but I will not return.
Our meal was really nice. The servers and staff were very welcoming. We were heading to a show afterwards ans they were speedy with everything.
Excellent meal, Sweet and sour shrimp
I’m a resident of NOTL. The best restaurant in town.
2nd time weve been to Niagara Finest Thai and the standard has been maintained in this relatively new establishment. Staff are friendly, efficient and courteous. Food is delicious and portions just right. We'll be back.
The food was outstanding. Well prepared, beautifully served and extremely fresh. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt.
A very positive customer experience.
My husband and I go here monthly pre-theatre. Just love that it is so close and walking distance to the Shaw Theater. We always order the Fresh Spring Rolls, Organic Gluten-free Chicken Pad Thai and Spicy Noodle with Chicken. Food is always great, staff is helpful and courteous. A great dining experience!
Excellent food, interesting tastes, good drinks and decent wine list
Close to Shaw Festival theater
Great Thai food in a very nice restaurant
Best Thai food I’ve had in a very long time
Everything was so fresh
I’m definitely going back ASAP
Excellent flavourable fresh food. All the dishes were distinct and very, very tasty. Personally enjoyed the pink peppercorn satay with shrimp, very unique and delicious.
We ordered soups, which were just ok. Then, we had to wait a long time for our padthai to arrive. The waitress even got annoyed that we mentioned it was taking a long time. Then the padthai finally arrives, and it's not good at all. The sauce is more like a sweet-and-sour sauce which is not right. It was really not a good experience, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Food was amazing and fresh. The pineapple fried rice with vegetables was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant.
Our food was as expected spicy, our waitress fabulous. We arrived for our reservation and she switched us to a quiet table without being asked. Great experience and reasonable prices.
Food was good, prices were about right considering it's a tourist town, service didn't match the prices unfortunately. Very rushed, didn't come back to ask about drink refills, didn't clear used appetizer plates and replace them when the mains were delivered (different mains were ordered and shared). I'd try them again but wait for off tourist season to see if the experience was better.
Terrific. Authentic food and great service.
Will definitely return.
Service was very slow, drinks took for very to get refilled. Then we asked for the bill and the server kept disappearing. I was very annoyed and I usually have a ton of patience
This is a good restaurant in a great location if you are going to The Festival Theatre as we were. At $19.99 for a cup of soup, a spring roll and a medium size dish of Pad Thai we were all satisfied.
Excellent Thai food. Tasty, fresh, authentic and very good value for the quality of the food. The best meal we had in Niagara on the Lake.
Excellent service and wonderful food. I will most definitely be returning.
Food was very fresh and well made. Flavors authentic. Loved the house special pad Thai and the cashew beef.
Excellent food, wait staff great! Marta was knowledgeable both on their food and cocktails. Really enjoyable experience!
Great location in town. Excellent food.
Three of us had a most enjoyable meal between performances at the Shaw Festival Theater.
Lots of items from which to choose. The coconut shrimps were delicious as were the main course items.
We would return. Allow time however, as service was not slow but not quick either.
Perfect dinner spot for dinner. Service was quick and food was exceptional! It was my first time in Niagara on the lake, and glad I found this gem of a restaurant. Prices are very reasonable
Great food and service
Worst meal I had in my two weeks in Canada. My wife's meal was very good but my pineapple stir fry with beef was stodge. Couldn't move the fork to mix the rice and there was no sauce included.
Disappointing after it was recommended by friends. The waitress service was very poor with people who came into the restaurant after us being served before us and 20 minutes between course.
Bad news for them.
Service is good, ambiance also good but noise level is on the high side. The food is rather bland and not too exciting.
Food was wonderful and service was great. Not crowded the night we went (about 7:45 pm). However, if you are new to Thai food and there are three chilis next to the menu item - take them seriously. Thai food can be quite spicy! Pad Thai is highly recommended!
