Nia is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago! The food is amazing and the service is top notch. I brought a large group of friends here and everyone loved it! Our server, Brooke, was awesome.
I "found" Nia 10 years ago. It was a wonderful mean and the waitress was challenged to surprise me with a drink. The resulting "Italian Apple Martini" was unforgettable. I was back in town for the same trade show and I'm introducing others to the fabulous food and drink. The vegetarian dishes are exceptional and the meat and seafood dishes wonderful. Order several bacon wrapped dates: you won't regret it.
Some of the nicest staff I have ever met. We had a party with 2 toddlers who behaved like typical toddlers and the staff and waiters/waitresses could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The hostess even went as far as creating a kids water cup out of a soup bowl and putting a smiley face on it. That type of attention to detail and service is some of the best I have ever seen. Hats off to Nia and their staff. Oh, and the food was phenomenal as well :)
Delicious food. Reasonably priced given the quality of food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend!!
Nia was amazing! Everything on the menu was so good. The Nia Salad and Gnocchi were my favorites! Fun for a girls wine night or date night. Service was great as well. I will definitely be back!
We were excited to try Nia, but should have known it was a bad sign that most of the tables were empty when we walked in at 8:30 on a Saturday night - not typical for restaurants in West Loop. We did the pre-fixe menu, and chose many of the recommendations from our server. The server was pleasant, but the food was not good at all, so disappointing. We even discussed the next morning how surprisingly bad all the food was. The ambiance was very outdated, especially considering it’s prime location on Randolph Street in West Loop. This was a waste of money - there are plenty of better restaurants in the area to go to.
Came here on a whim for an after work dinner, left a huge fan. Will be back!
Nia is the perfect place for a business dinner or catch up with friends. The 7 course tasting menu is an incredible value and it’s delicious. I’ll definitely be going back!
This was my second time at Nia and second time with Brooke as my server and she was so great! She guided us with the menu and had such an outgoing personality. The food was delicious and surprisingly filling for small plates.
Good food. The small plates are great for sharing. Lots of flavors. Go with friends
Paired the 1st half of 8 course sampler with a Greek white wine and the 2nd half with a Greek red wine. Plenty of well prepared menus choices and attentive & appropriate paced service.
Overall I have to score my visit to Nia low. Not because of the food. The food was great. Not because the wait staff was rude. Our waitress was nice and willing to help and wanted us to enjoy our meal. It was because there was only two of them! Two waitresses working all the tables inside and the patio and pouring the drinks behind the bar.
It took a while after being seated to have the waitress greet us. So long that we figured out what we wanted before we were greeted by our waitress. Not the waitress’ fault, only two were working that night. They were just too busy. And when we ordered our food after being greeted by the waitress, my wife ordered a glass of wine. Her only glass of wine. She was never asked for another glass. I was not drinking that night, so not being asked for a additional glass was fine for me. But any other night I would not have been so happy. But not the waitress’ fault. The restaurant needs additional staff.
Excellent venue for a large group of friends to share small plates. They make it easy with a menu of an 8
course tasting menu of increasingly heavy tapas, offering a selection from several options in each category. Priced very reasonable, plenty of food, quick service, and very friendly staff. Convenient location on Randolph. The hostess was very accommodating as our group grew during the week, no difficulties adding to the reservation.
Ordered the 8 course meal. It was a good way to experience the restaurant and Mediterranean cuisine. Everything was very delicious. Would recommend the scallops, lamb meatballs and the Nia salad. Good place for a date.
Came here with a group of friends following a matinee play performance. Couldn't have been happier with our choice. We had a large group, so Saturday night can be a tough night to find a space for large group. Brooke(?spelling) greeted and took excellent care of us. We arrived at the start of their service, so we settled in and were served water immediately with explanation of menu. If we could have gotten the table to agree, the tasting menu looks awesome, and very reasonably priced at $35/person. But, we all have different tastes, so onward we went. We had several different wines ( champagne, pinot Bianco, pinot noir, and a very good sauvignon.) I love that their wine menu was eclectic and not like everybody else's. Furthermore, all the choices complemented the menu.
The food was wonderful. Starting with delectable bacon wrapped dates ( which we ordered more of ) and the saganaki , we realized we were in for a treat. Brooke very adeptly kept the food coming at the right pace, and more importantly, while still hot off the grill. None of the food ever sat under a warming light. As we progressed through the fish courses ( shrimp and crab cakes were highlights) and on to sides ( the greek fries were among the best I have had...not soggy and crisp with delicious seasoning), Brooke kept us a happy group indeed. The main proteins were wonderful, particularly the lamb, although the beef tenderloin was also mouth watering moist and flavorful. We even managed to try the chocolate mousse and crème brulee for dessert and they were the perfect size to add a bit of sweetness to a wonderful meal/experience. We walked out of there about 3 hours later ( mostly because the 6 bottles of wine caused us to linger...) and strolled home. can't wait to come back. I have dined at many of the more well known/ heralded Randolph St establishments and walked past this one many times. No more. They are well deserving of a visit and I can't wait to return.
I went to Nia with a friend and we tried a few different things, but the orzo was my favorite.
We cannot say enough about the full experience at Nia’s! From the delicious food and drinks, to the great location, to the amazing servers (we loved Brooke!), this place is truly one that you cannot pass up whether you are in town for a quick visit or if you live here. The plates are the perfect amount to share - highly recommend the grilled octopus. As my boyfriend who comes from a big, Italian family put it, this is the BEST grilled octopus I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot in my day. Again, we highly recommend dining at Nia’s - you won’t regret it!
Wonderful experience and food!
We were a group of 6 who were first time dining at Nia. Delicious food, great variety of Mediterranean small plates - the grilled octopus and the lamb meatballs were excellent - our group did repeats on both of them. Wine list had a solid variety of options at affordable prices - we had the Corvina from Veneto - it paired well with all of the dishes and and was balanced and just as described - fresh fruit, light tannins. Service was just right for our group - attentive but well paced so that there was just the right spacing between arrival of the different dishes we selected. All in all, a great evening!
Great food and service! Brooke was wonderful! We enjoyed several of the small plates .
Great experience and food at Nia. We went with the recommendations of the waitress and were not disappointed. We chose several small sharing plates (crab cakes, scallops, bacon wrapped dates, gnochi). All were incredibly delicious - we will definitely come back again!
I have visited Nia many times over the last several years, most recently this last Saturday night. The food and service have always been amazing, special requests are never a problem (I am a picky vegetarian!). Ambience is always fantastic, especially outside where European chill-out music is heard at just the right volume to not overpower a conversation. Best Patas Bravas in Chicago...
I went with a gf to Nia and took advantage of the price-fixed menu and bottomless sangria on a Friday night. Highly recommend it! Our waitress made excellent recommendations, was very passionate about her favorite items on the menu, and was surprised to have a DJ for the intimate dining area. He added a fun vibe, and it wasn’t too loud either. Highly recommend! It had a nice outdoor seating area also, but since it was raining - opted for indoors. We will be back!
Terrific for a business dinner. Nia had a fixed menu with their best dishes that allowed us to focus on our conversation instead of menus. The range of dishes was spot on and allowed for everyones preferences
The 8 course tasting menu really shows off the varied choices. Fantastic food and presentation. Service by Stacey was wonderful.
We love Nia. Can’t wait to go back. The food is amazing
Great food and service
I met a friend here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We made a reservation, which I definitely recommend because shortly after we sat three larger parties walked in the place was packed. Brook was our host, server, and bartender and she was an absolute delight. The food was all delicious! We ordered the red sangria carafe, baked goat cheese, arugula salad, mushroom risotto, lamb meatballs, and strip steak with pesto. We finished the evening with an absolutely amazing slice of tiramisu. Thanks, Nia, for a lovely evening of catching up and celebrating a lifelong friendship.
Amazing food and service. Party of 17 had no issues whatsoever.
Our dining experience at Nia was fantastic! We were a group of 9 with very different dietary restrictions and they were so accommodating! The waitress was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the wine list and the dishes. All in all, the staff at Nia was incredibly accommodating and I would recommend it for any special occasion.
Good not amazing Mediterranean dishes in a comfortable setting. Quieter than other restaurants in teh area. Service was not very attentive given how slow the restaurant was the night AI visited
Great food and excellent service. Would definitely go back. Don’t miss the grilled calamari.
They accommodated a group of 16 that turned into 10. We went with the 8 portion sampler for our group. Reasonably priced and everything was delicious. Good beer selection and great service.
Overall great experience. Only comment is that the ceviche could have used a hit of spices, it was a little bland
There were so many great options here! We loved doing the tasting menu (8 courses to share with the table)! We were worried about it not being enough food but we were all stuffed at the end of the meal! The lamb and feta meatballs were our favorite! We will definitely be back!
Excellent as always. Good choice of interesting food, fun concept, a real winner. We will go back again and again!
Nice cosy restaurant. Food was tasty. They have a minimum of 4 guests for the prix fixe menu which isnt easily noticed when reading menus on website. Single diners cannot make reservations I was told on arrival. Seated at bar. Mushroom side and upgraded to greek fries with my steak. Meat wasnt very flavorful likely needed more age. It was a decent value for Chicago. I would love to go back with a group to experience the 8 course prix fixe.
Excellent customer service and excellent food. Server was attentive and graciously accommodated 2 people with tricky dietary restrictions AND tight schedules. In a great location and perfect for a meal and drinks before or after catching a show at the Lyric Opera House. Menu is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine but broad enough/slightly eclectic to accommodate different preferences (and dietary needs).
Would absolutely return and recommend to a friend!
