Next Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We had dinner on Valentines Day and they had a price fixed menu, which we knew ahead of time. Each course was served promptly and was delicious
My husband and I had different items, so we could taste more of the menu, and we both agreed that the flavors were intricate yet subtle and were very impressed with the presentation and taste of all of our food. Their wine list is impressive and we found a wonderful Paso Robles Zinfandel to accompany our meal. We love Next and thank them for their excellence.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Friday evening dinner at Next with friends! The food was very well prepared and our party especially enjoyed the lamb chops and the French onion soup! Service was unhurried and our waiter made a fantastic wine recommendation from the very extensive (and pricey) wine list. The soufflés with a glass of champagne were the perfect finish to the meal. We will definitely be back!
Overall, the food tasted good. The service, however, was absolutely terrible. Typically when food is served undercooked, it’s gladly remedied. At next bistro, you’re made to feel as though you must argue to prove your food wasn’t delivered the way you ordered it. Poor service. Poor delivery. Never going back.
The food, as usual, was spectacular. Our service this night was not! We waited quite a while to have our server John come over and then it took quite a long time for our drinks to arrive. When we asked about the board specials he only named the soup and the fish and layer on we discovered there were many other options.( The board was in the walkway and It would have been difficult to go over and read it) We should not have had to go over anyway. I understand they were busy but this is not their usual service.
Although the food was good, the Dover Sole was overpriced (54.00). Also, was surprised to find they charged us for the bread that they offered to us. Have never seen this. The server was very nice and infomative but empty plates were left on the table much too long after we were done. More expensive than Bobs Steak and Chop House and not nearly as nice ambience.
Reservation was for 8 pm and we were seated on time. Took our waiter 15 min to come introduce himself and another 25 min after that to receive our cocktail. We did order a very nice bottle of wine which he immediately opened and tried to serve us after we told him to open with dinner so we could enjoy our cocktails. Food however was great they overlapped the first two courses... hurried service. We keep trying to give Next a chance but it continues to disappoint. Wish it was like when it first opened. It was FABULOUS.
We go to this restaurant for about 4 times a year for special occasions and we were looking forward to taking our friends on New Years Eve and impressing them. We were very disappointing this time around. They had a three course pre-fix menu for New Yearrs eve and we were at the restaurant over 3.5 hours to get our food. We watched a table next to us clear two times during our sitting. the kitchen should be more efficient with a pre-fixed menu. We expressed our frustration to the wait staff and they admitted being over extended and covering far too many tables on this special night. Not only did we have long delays in service but when our food was finally served it was cold. I have had slow service at the restaurant before but this is the first time we received cold food. We shared our disappointment with the Chef and Owner and she was very defensive and this added to our disappointment for the evening. Being a local citizen, I always try to patronize local establishments to support their success. It may be awhile before I forget this negative experience and return.
Service was sooooo slow. It took a long time to get our pre-dinner drinks. The waiter didn’t come back to get our entree order for quite some time. Also it was a preset menu rather than their standard menu. The food was terrible. The tables were not arranged for private dining so it was very loud in the restaurant. Terrible way to spend New Years Eve.
Next was great on Christmas Eve. We took friends who had never been there and they loved it. For the Market Fish they had both Dover Sole and Grouper and they both were great. We used their wine list and found an excellent Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel. I have the Lobster & Shrimp Pot Stickers and they were wonderful.
The reviews are all over the board. Had to check this one out personally. Food, service, ambiance, were all very good. The extensive wine list runs slightly over 2x retail and is outstanding. US Cabernet and blends are the major offerings. ROW also represented. Hard to stay under $100 per bottle. There were a few, very good, well priced specials under $100. The lamb osso bucco was excellent. The plank salmon excellent as well. The side of risotto- underwhelming. Very broad menu with choices to satisfy any taste. Clearly among the best, if not the best, in Colleyville and surrounding area.
Dinner with friends to celebrate the holidays. Two of us had the Niman Ranch double pork chops in Dijon sauce with Aleppo pepper, one had the red snapper and one the cedar plank salmon. The bartender is terrific! We finished with excellent soufflés. Always good food and great service from Francois.
The server was good and suggested a very nice wine. The appetizer, baked brie, was very good, and actually the best course of the evening. 30 minutes after the appetizer, a decent salad was brought out, and then a good hour after that, we finally were served our entrees.
On both main plates, the meat was decent, but the sides were cold, including the scalloped potatoes. Cold scallops potatoes aren’t good, if you didn’t know. So, we basically paid for 8 oz of meat each - which came out to around $80 / lb.
It’s ridiculous to pay this much for a meal with so little attention to the way it’s served. Of course, if the chef and her husband were actually overseeing the operation, instead of yucking it up with their buddies in a booth all night, maybe they could have pushed things along better.
There are way too many other options in the metroplex that offer a much better meal and atmosphere to waste money at this place. I won’t be back
We had a four person party. To be honest, I usually do not review much but due to some of the bizarre and confusing reviews, I thought I would for the sake of the restaurant. The recently remodeled and the interior is chic and modern, maybe a little to 'cool' not necessarily cozy. We were seated right away. The waitress, Jennifer, came by pretty quickly. I had the chicken fried lobster, it was fantastic. Lobster moist and flavorful. We had the Roasted Red Pepper soup and it was soooo good. Be nice if it were a permanent soup!!! I had the veal stuffed quail and I prefer just quail no stuffing. It tasted odd to me. My husband had the pork chop, it was excellent too. Pics attached. Would I go back, YES. The menu variety is a good reason alone but it was good and certainly better than these chains restaurants.
