Next Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We went for brunch, they only do them on Easter and Mothers Day according to our server. You could definitely tell it's not their thing. Food was good, not great. If we had seen the limited choices on their brunch menu we would not have selected it. Service was excellent but the value for prix fixe menu really wasn't there. I'll try it again for dinner and probably have a much better opinion.
Have been to Next several times. Very good locally owned restaurant with a good menu. Wine list is strong and prices very reasonable.
Wait staff are good but sometimes lack the professionalism of other fine dining as they don't have specials or menu memorized.
Only criticism of the food was that pasta bolognese is a brown sauce. I wish it were called out as such on the menu. I'm not so keen on the brown sauce.
My son, who has a high bar, said the steak was very good.
We were looking for a restaurant between Ft. Worth & Dallas so we could meet & have lunch
Found Next Bristo (it was just a 1/2 way for all 4 of us)
We had a very nice lunch and it was a great place for friends to get together
The service was very good and so was the food
Lots of menu choices
We were not rushed and had a wonderful time
It is worth the drive from Dallas and we will go again
Next Wood Fired Bistro & Vino Bar is definitely a hidden neighborhood gem in Colleyville. The food is amazing, the service excellent, and the ambiance warm and welcoming. They bring in whole fish and filet them in the kitchen, which makes for some of the freshest tasting seafood in DFW. I would highly recommend this place!!
These guys are very proud of themselves. The food is way over priced. Take the wine list. You can pay $15 for a glass of wine. The food was decent, but nowhere worth the sticker shock you get. My wife and I both had dishes with shrimp and my palate was traumatized by the chlorine in the seafood. A reputable supplier does not put chlorine in the shrimp to extend the shelf life. You would think that a restaurant that charges an "ojo de la cara" would know that. This was our first and last experience at Next Bistro. You need a transfusion when you get the check.
My family and I came here for a special get together. We made a reservation weeks in advance and were very disappointed with the service that we received. It seemed as though our server had another large party and 3 other tables on top of our group (7 guests total for us). Our server made us feel as though we were a burden. Everything was such a hassle and it took way to long to get anything ordered. At one point, I even asked the young hostess for a new waiter. For the price of the meal from the 7 of us with alcohol, appetizers, salads and entrees, the service should've been above flawless. I left feeling very gross about the amount of money we spent and how we were treated. Food was good, but I won't be returning after this experience.
It was my family's first visit and we were so glad we tried it! The wine list is extensive and they have a full bar as well. The server was friendly, knowledgeable about wines and dining choices and stayed focused on our overall experience. I chose the veal porcini bolognese and it was cooked perfectly. My husband tried the chicken Marsala which included a juicy Cornish hen leg quarter and mashed potatoes. The restaurant doesn't have a "kids menu" but they offered a yummy chicken breast with whipped potatoes and my daughter ate nearly all of it. The space is broken between two sections and even when busy, we enjoyed a conversation without peripheral noise. We will definitely be back!
We were in Dallas area for business, looking for a good European menu. Next doesn't look like much from the outside, but what a surprise indoors. The foie gras appetizer was superb, then we shared a very large tenderloin with shrimp cooked to mouth-watering perfection. Topped off the evening with an excellent chocolate soufflé. Definitely recommend Next!
We decided to try a new restaurant for our family dinner. And it was so nice to have picked a great place! Every dish was well-presented and delicious. Our server was very attentive, which was wonderful considering how busy they were on a Friday night. I definitely recommend this but also recommend a reservation on a weekend.
It was a great evening as usual! Food choices were plentiful and the portions were great for sharing! However the service was a bit slow at first, resulting in drink backups! But the ambience and great food make up for this small inconvience! Favorite restaurant!
My daughter and I had a lovely and delicious dinner at Next. It's a beautiful place with a cozy, intimate atmosphere...like marriage proposal-worthy type atmosphere! My Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked, and my daughter loved her French onion soup. The crab cakes and green chile/goat cheese cigars were delicious. The portion size of the broccolini and the crab cakes seemed small. Other than that, perfect!
We have always been happy with Next until tonight. Service was terrible. It took too long to get our drinks (appetizer came first). When my dirty martini came, it was frothy....because it wasn't a dirty martini! Waiter didn't notice and was gone before I could say anything. Our entrees came out before our salad. When I told the server, he took the entrees back, brought the warm salad, and asked if we still wanted the entrees now. When my husband's sea bass arrived, it was not the usual thick slice. The waiter was even confused, but he brought it back and said they were serving it horizontally cut in half. Why? Because they were running out? Ridiculous! For a meal that costs well over $100, I expect more.
This used to be one of our regular restaurants, but so disappointed by our resent visit. They no longer have a working wood fire oven. They served the best wood fire pizza around. No wood fire oven = no pizza. Hopefully ,they will fix their oven ,since it's in their name. It made them a special restaurant on our eyes. Great wine list and great pizza is a perfect night.
