Next Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Went during restaurant week when the whole idea is to try new places at reduced pricing with a donation to a charity. We paid LESS ordering off the menu for the same items with alcohol and dessert. Disappointing evening with just average food and below average ambience!
Our first visit and we cans wait to return! We started with the lobster dumplings and foie gras - absolutely delicious in both counts. After that, I had the branzino and my husband had osso buco. Both were wonderful. Alex recommended a bottle of wine which we fully enjoyed. Our only regret was not being able to sample dessert because we were so full!
Had two couples for my birthday dinner. Will be expensive if you have drinks and appetizers ($300) . Waiter was very attentive. Noted on Open table of a birthday occasion and the lady at the front desk asked about it. We did n't have dessert. Thought I would get a cup cake with a candle. Zero. Probably a break in communication from the front desk to the waiter. Disappointed. Probably not a good place to go for a special occasion.
My wife and I dined at Next Bistro last Saturday for the first time. We are still talking about how fantastic the food and service were across the board. We had Crab Cake and Fried Lobster appetizers, the Bacon Apple & Beet salad and the Poached Pear salad. All of these were delicious and uniquely flavorful. Our entrees were the Dover Sole and the Buffalo Filet. Both were prepared to perfection with amazing seasonings. We enjoyed all of this with a Fischer Coach Insignia Cab selected from one of the best wine lists in DFW. (Thanks Francois) I cannot believe it took us so long to find this spot! It is truly one of the best restaurants in North Texas. Move over Bob's, Trulucks, Grace, St. Emillion ..... Next Bistro is the best place now!
We used to like Next, but it seems the prices have gone way up. We split an entrée special, had a half bottle of wine, and the total was $150! Before tip! That seems outrageous, especially since we had an incredible dinner in Dallas two days later with two full entrees, a whole bottle of wine, desserts and appetizers and it was just a few dollars more!!
Next Bistro was a very nice find close to home for us. The food was excellent, the service was quite good, and the wine list was impressive. The exterior belies the interior which is cozy not crowded. We found it friendly and inviting, and we will definitely go back.
Next Bistro was recommended by my manager so my husband and I decided to give it a try in lieu of our normal special spot. Never judge a book by its cover. The inside is beautiful. I immediately felt I should have dressed up a tad more. We had a great waiter who spent time to describe certain items on special. I ordered the sea bass and my husband had the filet. I love sea bass and this was a rather large cut. Definitely bigger than 8oz. I couldn't finish it all. I'm allergic to potatoes, but my husband said they were fabulous. Then I had a nice dessert wine/port and we shared a Grand Marnier Soufflé. OMG, that was the most heavenly thing my taste buds have ever had the pleasure of tasting. We will definitely be back!
Went for Mother's Day with party of 5. Set menu was very good. Wa s disappointed they didn't have Chilean Bass on menu but all in all was good. A little overpriced for the quantity of food - but again, very tasty and good. DSidnt rush us at all and service was great. I want to go back for regular dinner menu and their great scotch and whisky selection!
Service was a little slow at first, and it took a bit for our first course to arrive, but the food was delicious. The timing of the meal improved after our appetizers. And the service improved as the meal went on. I think they were busy when we first arrived. I would definitely like to go back and try it again.
We have always had great meals at Next. They have made changes over the years, but always for the good. My absolute favorite is the mushroom risotto, but I also love all of the fresh fish options they always have. The waiters know the menu very well and are good at recommendations. The only negative I have is that I really don't like the sign they have out front that shows pictures of some of their food. Don't let that stop you from coming in though. The food is exquisite.
The choices on the menu are varied and some very unusual! I think the chef is very creative and mixes among the customers at times. The wait staff is very curtious and informed about the specials. They are very good at suggesting great items. You can always count on the choice of food being delicious. Very impressed with it all and do think it is great a great addition to our neighborhood
We went for brunch, they only do them on Easter and Mothers Day according to our server. You could definitely tell it's not their thing. Food was good, not great. If we had seen the limited choices on their brunch menu we would not have selected it. Service was excellent but the value for prix fixe menu really wasn't there. I'll try it again for dinner and probably have a much better opinion.
Have been to Next several times. Very good locally owned restaurant with a good menu. Wine list is strong and prices very reasonable.
Wait staff are good but sometimes lack the professionalism of other fine dining as they don't have specials or menu memorized.
Only criticism of the food was that pasta bolognese is a brown sauce. I wish it were called out as such on the menu. I'm not so keen on the brown sauce.
My son, who has a high bar, said the steak was very good.
We were looking for a restaurant between Ft. Worth & Dallas so we could meet & have lunch
Found Next Bristo (it was just a 1/2 way for all 4 of us)
We had a very nice lunch and it was a great place for friends to get together
The service was very good and so was the food
Lots of menu choices
We were not rushed and had a wonderful time
It is worth the drive from Dallas and we will go again
Next Wood Fired Bistro & Vino Bar is definitely a hidden neighborhood gem in Colleyville. The food is amazing, the service excellent, and the ambiance warm and welcoming. They bring in whole fish and filet them in the kitchen, which makes for some of the freshest tasting seafood in DFW. I would highly recommend this place!!
These guys are very proud of themselves. The food is way over priced. Take the wine list. You can pay $15 for a glass of wine. The food was decent, but nowhere worth the sticker shock you get. My wife and I both had dishes with shrimp and my palate was traumatized by the chlorine in the seafood. A reputable supplier does not put chlorine in the shrimp to extend the shelf life. You would think that a restaurant that charges an "ojo de la cara" would know that. This was our first and last experience at Next Bistro. You need a transfusion when you get the check.
My family and I came here for a special get together. We made a reservation weeks in advance and were very disappointed with the service that we received. It seemed as though our server had another large party and 3 other tables on top of our group (7 guests total for us). Our server made us feel as though we were a burden. Everything was such a hassle and it took way to long to get anything ordered. At one point, I even asked the young hostess for a new waiter. For the price of the meal from the 7 of us with alcohol, appetizers, salads and entrees, the service should've been above flawless. I left feeling very gross about the amount of money we spent and how we were treated. Food was good, but I won't be returning after this experience.
It was my family's first visit and we were so glad we tried it! The wine list is extensive and they have a full bar as well. The server was friendly, knowledgeable about wines and dining choices and stayed focused on our overall experience. I chose the veal porcini bolognese and it was cooked perfectly. My husband tried the chicken Marsala which included a juicy Cornish hen leg quarter and mashed potatoes. The restaurant doesn't have a "kids menu" but they offered a yummy chicken breast with whipped potatoes and my daughter ate nearly all of it. The space is broken between two sections and even when busy, we enjoyed a conversation without peripheral noise. We will definitely be back!
