Next Door
A great place to take friends for a casual, but excellent dinner. The bartender is creative and their selection of beers is great.
The food was incredible! The staff were welcoming and friendly. Overall, great dining experience.
We go here often, great food! sometimes there’s too many people so it’s hella loud to where you have to scream to the people sitting next to you. Overall all though it’s amazing def recommend.
Pizza was amazing. Drinks where a little pricey but very strong. Pasta was also delicious
One of the hidden gems in south Brooklyn. Great location, great ambiance, awesome food, and excellent service. And one of the best bars and wine selections in Brooklyn!
Love this place and go often despite of availability of multiple similar spots in nyc !
Nice, cozy place. The quality of food is excellent. We ordered fried calamari and lobster ravioli. On the menu, the ravioli come in red sauce and since I'm not a big fan of any red sauce we requested if it can be made in creamy white. Lobster ravioli in creamy alfredo sauce were to die for.
Arrived and we were the only people in the restaurant for 3/4 of our time there. Our waiter was rude and inattentive. Ordered an appetizer, entrees, 1 dessert & wine bill was over $130. Not worth it. Service was terrible, food was overpriced. Overall I’d never dine here again and don’t recommend you do either.
Always a good experience. Food verrrrry consistent
Delicious.
Service was good nice decor food was a little overpriced for what it was drinks weren't that yummy for the price
OK for a night out, but very noisy and not much variety on menu.
A nice place for pizza, perhaps.
This was our 2nd time dining at Next Door and the food and service does not disappoint. If you like grilled octopus you will certainly like theirs . it is a bit pricy but well worth it. Eggplant Parm appetizer was very tasty. Entrees very good as well as the arugula salad with Grilled shrimps.
Only disappoint for the evening was the noise level. There were two large parties dining there so the noise level was understandable.
Would definitely dine there again
Except for the pasta and bottled water the food was below average. The salads soaked in dressing. Just no
It was okay..
Nice place to have lunch or dinner at the Bay! Food was delicious. Enjoy yourselves here.
Restaurant was fair. Soup was tasteless, mains were good and the profiteroles for dessert were a waste of money.
We had out-of-state visitors and wanted to show them a trendy local restaurant. We had a party of 6. Unfortunately the Open Table reservation did not show up on their system (i had a confirmation email). Thankfully the flexible staff quickly put a booth together for us. Service was excellent. Food was really nice too.
Nothing special. One time ting.
Food was excellent but some items were very over prices. The beginning of the meal was rushed and the wait for the entre was too long. Be prepared for a large bill. Aiso, nobody stopped by the table to see how everything was.
The restaurant had only 1 other table to tend beside ours for lunch. We had to wait for our pizza for an 45 minutes ! The restaurant was cold, so we asked for hot coffee while waiting for the pizza. We asked for refills to stay warm. Each time we got a refill, the waiter brought us a fresh cup. When we received the bill, we were charged for 6 cups of coffee....... Ridiculous ! The charge was removed from the bill when we addressed the waiter .
I will not go back......
My father saw the commercial and wanted to check out the place. We went it was beautiful inside and the service was great. Food was excellent. My niece came and there was enough room for a stroller and the sound level was perfect.
Absolutely lovely! We celebrated my mother's birthday and she thoroughly enjoyed everything - especially the Lobster Ravioli. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Atmosphere, menu and cocktails were quality.
Would never again make the trip to come here. Middling cuisine, indifferent service, very bad wine list. Maybe satisfactory for the beach crowd, but you might want to arrive already "lubricated" so you don't care about the mediocrity.
I have eaten twice at this restaurant in the past few months. All in all, it's pretty good. This place has an upscale vibe, and is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I and my dining companions haven't been too adventurous with the menu (sticking with thin-crust pizza and salad on both occasions), but all of us liked our food and the wines by the glass as well. The restaurant is attractive and very close to the bay. My only complaint is that the background music (on both occasions) was unnecessarily loud and the selection of music is unusually boisterous. I'm not sure why dance-oriented music needs to be blasting in an Italian-oriented restaurant (although the server courteously lowered the volume after I asked him to). If they played light jazz (or some other lower-key music) at a lower volume in the background, this place would project a much more professional ambiance to me.
We were a party of six, sat in the circle booth and tried lots of different starters, entrees and desserts. Everything was great. I had the mussels appetizer and lobster ravioli. They were delicious. People at our table had the caprese salad, Caesar salad, pizza, mushroom risotto, and chicken parm. Everyone loved their meals. The chicken park was pounded perfectly thin. We tried a few desserts too. The cheesecake was light, the lemon tart was perfect and the tiramisu was tremendous. They had nice upbeat music playing which allows you to have a conversation with your table but not necessarily hear the conversations of adjacent tables. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the food arrived with great timing. I definitely recommend and we will be back.
Service was great. Food was good. It was pretty expensive and because of the location, you have to deal with traffic noise
Great food, low key environment, friendly staff.
What a wonderful dining experience! Was here to celebrate my father's birthday. Loved the decor - a simple modern look - and the food was fabulous. From the yummy, soft long rolls to the flavorful chicken parmigiana and combo sausage plate to the absolutely scrumptious profiteroles drenched in chocolate sauce and cheesecake, we enjoyed a simply delectable birthday meal. Great location, too - right on the "strip" on Emmons Avenue in picturesque Sheepshead Bay.
Lastly, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, George; he simply couldn't have been nicer to us. He was so welcoming - and even joined us in singing "Happy Birthday" to my appreciative dad.
So if you're looking for a fun night out with great service and excellent food, come (to) Next Door!!!
Food great, ambiance great. A little pricy but for special occasions, worth it!
Got seated quickly. Food came out in timely manner. Started with fried calamari. Very good. Lightly breaded. Tasty sauce. I had scallops entree with side of Brussels sprouts. Both very flavorful. Date had chicken Marsala special, which she enjoyed. Split the cheesecake for dessert. Much lighter than expected, pleasantly so. Waitress was a little inattentive, but not overly so. Had a few tables to work. Seemed like they had a very small playlist on repeat, so ambience could improve on that front.
Excellent food and service. Will come back for sure!
The food was good but a little pricey... the tuna tartar & mushroom risotto were delicious!!
The wine is nothing to get excited about. The restaurant itself has a nice look to it. They seem to get a lot of small parties there so not always good for a quiet evening. The staff is attentive. The food is good. Overall a good place to go.
Not great, not bad. Web hoped for better. The resturant is nice, but the food was just average. We had the Tuna tartar which was good and the linguini with clams and that was just average.
Service was a joke. Had to beg for any attention all night with a party of 6! Good was excellent and the decor and vibe were really nice. Shame about the service. Won't be back.
Porcini risotto was delicious.
We love the atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Next Door is always a choice for us, when in doubt where to go. I have to mention that we are very particular about our tastes.
The food was good, but our server was bad. He didn't acknowledge us. I had to order my main course with another server.
They did not honor our open table reservation and told us we should have called to make a reservation. They said there was a long wait for a table and offered us a seat at the bar promising to give is a table when one became available - they never did and patrons who arrived after us were seated. On the plus side, the bartender, who was our server, for the evening was friendly and very attentive (which is why we didn't leave) and the food was very good.
We love everything about Next Door. It became one of our favorites since it had been opened. Go and try it! You will not be disappointed.
