Newport Vineyards Tank Room Saturday Additional Seating
NV did a really nice job spacing out tables & accommodating diners. My party of 3 made reservations for Brix Bites, and we enjoyed our time there but the items available are very limited and the portions were really small. Literally, 3 tortilla chips come with the pork & beef chili. Regardless, the winery/brewery is reallly cool & the wine is good (didn't try any beer). Great White is a really nice white wine. I would go back but be more cautious about menu items the next time.
Over the top covid-19 precautions. Server wouldn't even approached our table until we had masks on. We were seated in the back corner where the wine barrels were is very sterile and dark. You weren't even allowed to go outside unless you were escorted. The final straw was the fact that you actually couldn't drink a bottle of wine at a winery! You could only purchase one to take home. Do not recommend!
Hello! Thank you for visiting. Safety and comfort of our guests and staff is our top priority, and we are commended for our compliance with state guidelines. We understand that this makes for a different experience. Our seating details are clarified on our website, as many guests request to be near the barrels. We appreciate your feedback regarding bottle purchases - that is also for safety reasons, but something we always consider.
It was very nice and the server was very good, we went on a beautiful sunny day.
Hi Catherine, we're happy to hear you enjoyed! We look forward to welcoming you back.
Service was horrible. The waitress not only took forever on getting back to our table but constantly took more tables over seeing if we needed anything or asking how we liked our wine choices. Not to mention we gave her 3 debit cards to split evenly and she charged my card the entire bill along with my 2 friends the amount we were all supposed to get charged. Customer service skills are clearly not required to work there
Our waitress must have been having a bad day because she was not very friendly. We felt rushed the entire time and she did not make us feel welcome during our reservation where we were celebrating my significant other's birthday. Besides that the food was great, solid wines and amazing atmosphere. I might have to try it again on another day.
Had a grainy sand that tasted awful and we were told was “sediment” in our wine and was told that was normal by the manager. Ruined the entire visit.
Seating was outside even though website indicated it could not be requested so we assumed it would be inside. Outdoor heaters not available lighting was not good. Waited 1 hour for meal. Service was sporadic and wine was just okay the food was better
We had a reservation at 5:30pm but we were not seated until around 6. I had to ask twice about our reservation. The drinks were good, the food was alright. We ordered a cheese board which came with three types of cheeses, nuts, some fruits and very little crackers. We asked for utensils since we ordered tacos and the waitress just brought 3 sets for a party of 6, she mentioned that they were running low and will bring them as soon as possible but she never did. We were seated inside which didn’t have much of a nice view, I wish they had more outdoor seating for a bigger party.
I would not recommend this place. Manager was extremely rude. Went for my birthday and it was a huge disappointment. Not accommodating.
Cheese board was amazing highly recommend. Wine is always good but disappointed in the beer but it is a winery
Loved trying this place out! We had excellent service and the food selection was just right for us (a smaller menu but variety enough that anyone can find something to eat!) The ONLY downside is we had to sit outside and it was pretty chilly. You can only have paper/plastic outside which is totally fine for us, but may bother other people coming to try the wine. Would absolutely recommend!
Our server was helpful and friendly. The food was quickly brought out and we never felt rushed. Thank you!
Service was great !
Food was amazing !!
We ate right next to the storage vats.
This was extra seating in the back brewery ares of the winery. Same access as the main dining reservations, just a smaller menu. Went for a tasting and food was not required. Really enjoyed it since we could not get a normal reservation. Wines were great!
Menu was very limited , needed more sandwhiches, apps were good
What a beautiful setting! We had 2 reservations for a party of 10, one for 4 people and one for 6 people. Due to Covid there were restrictions on six people to a table which was totally understandable. Upon arrival one of our people checked in for both reservations. When we got to the tables we thought were ours the hostess said we had only checked in for one party. She would not let us sit at two adjacent tables and insisted that this was just not possible and she had quite an attitude about it. She told me to go back to the hostess stand and check in, which I did. I will add that it was not a busy time and there were multiple empty tables. They would still not put us next to each other. My husband asked to speak to a manager. And the manager also said no without a really good reason. So we spent our afternoon separated. Right before we left they seated two people at the adjacent table we wanted. There was no good reason that we could not sit together. On our way out we went outside to take pictures, which was permitted. However, another employee was outside telling people to hurry, not to loiter etc. again understandable due to Covid, but he was so rude about it. We barely got our pictures. Maybe they should just not let people outside then. At that point we all decided we were not stopping in the gift shop and giving this place any more of our money. What could have been a pleasant afternoon even with Covid restrictions was ruined by the very rude staff.
It was our first time visiting Newport vineyard regardless of the restrictions due to COVID-19 , everyone was pleasant and friendly , and made our visit worth to go back definitely
The only disappointment was my husband and I did the wine flights. Some had very little and others had more.....of course I had the ones with less....there was a significant difference.
My second time in the past month visiting. First experience was at Taproot Brewing where we came for a beer flight. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer. The menu we thought seemed very limited and expensive. We just settled on splitting an appetizer which wasn’t filling enough when drinking. My second time we got seated at Brix and was hoping for a different menu. I walked the trail there so I wasn’t drinking and was disappointed that the menu was the same. I ordered a steak sandwich on special for $20 which was mostly all fat terrible quality steak for the price. They won’t substitute sides so I added potato wedges that were drenched in oil and too much seasoning.
For the price you are paying for a meal here food quality is not good enough.
Service was very good both times tho. I’d only go to drink if I return again. Also, note if you plan to sit outside the bees will be joining you.
The place is very nice, I fortunately our experience wasn’t. I understand the obstacles with covid but I have to say I felt I think they could’ve done a better job....our wine flights were brought out in a Starbucks style drink carrier and our cheese board was brought out in a to go container, I felt there could have been a better way to keep the experience closer to “normal” or “pre-covid” we went to a few other restaurants in the area while we were in Newport and they all used real plates/glasses which I feel would have made the night much more enjoyable. I also feel they should probably close their outside area during inclement weather.....the night we came the wind was crazy! We had to hold onto literally everything the entire time or else it would have blown away. It’s really a nice place but we left disappointed 😕
My husband and I had a wonderful time. We booked a table for our wedding anniversary and ended up meeting friend’s earlier in the day. When we called to ask if 2 additional people could join, they were very accommodating.
I always look forward to my yearly Newport vineyard experience
Server was amazing, very knowledgeable and so so kind!!!! $20 cheese board was underwhelming
Honestly, I was so excited about this experience but it sucked. The manager was so unaccommodating, we explained several health issues and concerns and even called before about being seated outside. The manager was rude and didn't seem to care or help out his customers. The waitresses on the other hand are amazing and super sweet but couldn't do much to help us considering it was all up to the manager
We ordered the cheese board expecting a.... cheese board. Instead, the food was served in a to-go container all packed up like we were leaving. While we fully understand the need for sanitary practices during the pandemic, they could at least serve it on a plate?
Wine was good, as expected, but would not recommend this as a place to go now, because the ambiance and luxury you'd expect from visiting a vineyard is lost under their current covid protocols.
They also won't let you "loiter" on the grounds, which translates to they won't let you spend any time on the grounds after you spend hundreds of dollars on their food and wine.
The upscaled “pub grub” appetizer/shared plates menu is well-prepared, quite tasty, and offers enough variety to give most patrons reasonable options. We enjoyed the local cheese board, the heirloom tomato and Narragansett Creamery burrata salad, the house-made soft Bavarian pretzel with side house made cheese and mustard dips. While we did not partake of the entrees, we were tempted to order some of the items, including the Striped bass special of the day. The four of us in our party each ordered a wine flight of Newport Vineyards wines and we all enjoyed the different tasting notes and profiles of each wine included. The weather cooperated for our outdoor dining experience And, aside from the period noise of planes taking off from the nearby local airfield, the ambience was quite pleasant for an early Autumn outdoor dining experience.
Amazing wine and really appreciated how spread out all the tables were given social distancing. Overall great experience and can’t wait to come back
Our server was great and because we were up against another reservation she let us stay a little bit longer. It was a very comfortable environment and great service! We didn’t realize that the wine flights came with a glass which was awesome until we left them behind....
My boyfriend and I had a great time here. We each got a flight of wine and then a glass after- all of the wine we tried was delicious. Our server was great- attentive and polite. The atmosphere was just what we wanted. We were far enough away from other tables to feel safe but it was still lively with people outside.
Maybe it’s Covid. Maybe is and overwhelmed or untrained staff. In any case, service was less that great. Food was middling, drinks were great!
Delicious food and wine. It was awesome to be outside
We really enjoyed our time. Place is a bit pricy, especailly for the food, but the drink is pretty dang good.
We had a great time but the 1.5 hour cap had us feeling a bit rushed. Would have loved to stay for another glass of wine!
Because of COVID, we were limited to 90mim. Once we were seated, it was 30min before a waitress even came to our table. It was another 15min before our drinks finally arrived. By the time our food arrived, we had 20min to eat. The food and wine were fantastic, but the service was absolutely awful - to the point I’d think twice before returning.
Average experience - chilly outside and we were not able to move to a table in the sun. It was hard to enjoy the cheese board out of a cardboard box with plastic cutlery. Everything was also blowing in the wind.
Poor service so it pretty much runied everything. Ambiance is beautiful. Very clean and Was definitely practicing Covid guidance. Waitress was nice but it took 20mins after being seated before she came to us for greet. Then after ordering it took and additional 15 minutes until our wine flights arrived. Restaurant was not over busy so not sure what was going on. Waited 20 mins to get our bill back after we handed over gift certificate/and debit card. Its sad because place is beautiful but I definitely will not be back. Thumbs down!
Anniversary celebration. We had 6:30pm reservations made weeks before. Arrived 20 mins early. Several groups with same time reservation were admitted before we were. We were told our table for the two of us (albeit a picnic table that could seat 6) was being bussed. Ok, no problem. We were ushered outside to picnic table next to a group with children dumping things everywhere and a screaming parent. NOT exactly what I had in mind at a beautiful Vineyard for our 31st Anniversary.. We waited an additional 20 minutes for the harried waitress to take our flight orders only to have 2 out of my 4 choices for wine be correct. I love Great White by Newport Vineyard despite my dealings with this unfortunate and chaotic tasting on 9/19/20. Will never be back.
Unfortunately, we had to sit "inside" and not only did we not have a view of the vineyard, we were served in take out containers and given only plastic cups and utensils. We were even served our flights of wine in to go coffee containers! Not the experience I was hoping for as we celebrated my friends 30th birthday. I understand space is space, but why were the indoor folks given a less-than experience to those who were outside? We left pretty unsatisfied with our experience, even though the wine and beer was good.
Great experience. The wine is great and plenty of options. Good food and reasonable prices. A new gem!!
Had such a lovely time/ perfect day. Wine was delicious and ambience was perfect. So glad we went
My second time and it was fantastic!! Coming back next weekend with my sister.
