Our first visit to Newman's was for Thanksgiving

A wonderful meal and experience as always!! Can't wait to return!

Oh, my goodness! Actually, their goodness. This place is spectacular from every dimension. We were in the area for just a few days, found this place on line, and fell in love. You enter into a warm, inviting "living room" and are encouraged to relax and sample the delicious appetizers - what a great idea. Our dinner and service was off the charts incredible. Everything was perfect. If I have any criticism to share - and this barely counts - they do not have a full bar, so no cocktails. The wine list is more than wonderful and their somm' was very knowledgable. I can't wait to go back.

Except for the fact that we were first seated at a terrible table in the restaurant— right next to a door that was being used by guests, then moved to another equally bad table— looking at the bar, then, when I asked, we were moved to a decent table with a view of the sunset, everything was great. But I was surprised I had to ask for a better table. I told them we were celebrating an anniversary. I expected to be given a nice table with a view without having to ask.

Ashley as an excellent server. All food items were delicious, lovely older building and great view of the mountains.

After hosting our wedding reception here a year ago, we were back for our 1st year anniversary brunch. Service, food, and atmosphere are absolutely outstanding (as always!) I'd highly recommend Newman's and the Orchard Inn to anyone celebrating a special occasion or just wanting a respite from every-day life.

Wanted our Texas friends to get a taste of Carolina fine dining as well as see the beautiful countryside! Orchard Inn never disappoints! They were bowled over. Mission accomplished!

We celebrated our 40th anniversary by enjoying a lovely relaxing brunch. Service was friendly and professional.

The menu is incredible, given the size of the restaurant and the fact that it is not open every day. The food was wonderful and the view is obviously spectacular.

What a privilege to spend a lazy Sunday enjoying brunch at this beautiful and relaxing place. A friend and I each drove an hour from different directions to meet for a meal and we never wanted to leave. The service was impeccable and the food sublime. As good as any starred restaurant anywhere. Really great.

From the moment that you drive into the covered road to the beautiful old house you feel that you have walked into another era. The quiet assent into a place where the rest of the wold seems far away is accented by the great food and exquisite service. It's not just the food, which is superior, but the whole experience that brings us back.

We love the atmosphere at the Orchard Inn as well as the views.
The food is delicious and well presented. Our favorite waitress “Lynne” is always so nice and welcoming. She is perfect in her attention to our wellbeing and our food. When we leave she is makes sure that we have enjoyed ourselves and than we will come back.

Terrific food in a beautiful setting. We stayed st the inn and the meal was just absolutely terrific. Service is great and the setting is just beautiful overlooking the gardens and mountains of the inn.

Hosts Marianne and Marc were very welcoming. It was our 32nd anniversary and our stay was exceptional and the dinner at the Perry Como table was fantastic. Our server Lynn was fantastic as well as the food. WOW! A return visit is a must......

Top to bottom the meal was amazing. Many local and regional foods. The setting is lovely.

My guest and I decided that we needed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s moon walk and our choice of venues could not have been better! Apparently Newman’s has been nurturing some new culinary talent; allowing the kitchen team to push the envelope and discover wherein their real expertise shines. Like fine Vineyards nurturing the vines through all seasons the management has created an environment that has yielded classic-inspired cutting-edge cuisine. My favorite from this visit was the fresh caught mountain trout which was perfectly executed with amazingly crisp paper-thin breading. I have eaten an amazing amount of seafood from Halifax to New Iberia and this was the best trout I have ever had; bar-none. But, don’t take my word for it, give Newman’s a try yourself!

The food, ambiance, and service is by far the best in Polk County and surrounding areas. I ate in many very nice restaurants in my life, but Newman's is my favorite!

The entire dining experience was absolutely first rate. From the call to confirm the reservation through paying the bill at the end of dinner, everything was handled professionally and courteous. The entire staff is extremely well trained, the chef is excellent, and the owner personally stopped at our table to make sure everything was as we expected.

Excellent menu, beautiful setting, outstanding service

There was no table available even though we had a reservation - with no explanation. We were asked if we'd like to wait outside until a table was "ready". It was 86 degrees. As tempting as that was, we said
"no" - inside will be fine. Finally - after looking around a bit - at least 3 empty tables came into view, but
not one of them was offered to us. I approached the owners and asked about a table. I was told one
would be set up right away. It was toward the end of a long row of tables - near the corner of the dining room. Very much out of the way. No explanation was ever given as to why a table was not available at the time reserved. No one else was waiting for a table. No type of compensation was offered for the inconvenience - as though it was of little consequence.

When the first course came, it was for another table; not ours. It took awhile to correct the problem.
In general, service was slow. Not at all like the other times we'd been at this restaurant.

While the food was excellent, the dining experience left much to be desired.

There appear to be a number of changes going on at Newman's Restaurant - not for the better.

Go for the dining experience and soak in the view. Note that Jacket requested for men. Reservations!

Food quality was excellent! Service was exceptional and Inn owners are totally committed to providing their guests with an awesome customer experience! Would highly recommend the Orchard Inn and Newman's restaurant without any hesitation!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with great views. Staff was very friendly and the service was excellent, which is why we were so extremely disappointed in the food. We also felt that it was overpriced for what we got. Please make sure you review the menu before you go and understand what you’ll be eating. Sadly, we will not return.

Great atmosphere, something different, the drive from greenville beautiful. Food was so good and the service was outstanding!

We got married at the Orchard Inn seven years ago and had our celebration dinner at Newman’s. We returned to Newman’s for our anniversary and it was as we remembered it. The ingredients were fresh and the service excellent, with panoramic views. Marc and Marianne, the owners, were so welcoming and made our special dinner even more memorable. We’ll be back next year!

We just celebrated our 31st anniversary here and it was perfect. The very friendly but very professional service is an outstanding coupling with the amazing food and the great wine. We have dined here at all times of year and the view is always beautiful.

This is a unexpected gem of a find. - That's the best kind! A beautiful Inn and Restaurant to enjoy anytime or on a special occasion. The ambiance is quietly captivating. What a wonderful place to watch the recent Blue Moon rise over the mountains and through the trees while enjoying an outstanding flavorful meal sipping Pinot Grigio/Gris, Adelsheim, Willamette Valley (OR) 2015!

A mother's day brunch and our server Lynn, again provided excellent service and her menu suggestions were perfect. In the dining room we sat next to the "Perry Como Table" and will be sure to ask for it during our next dining experience. Fantastic food and service!

We went for the Mother’s Day brunch. The food was good. The service was great. The restaurant is gorgeous. The price was over the top. We had a lovely time but felt very overcharged and underwhelmed. We expected more for the money.

We very much enjoyed Newman's last Saturday evening. We will definitely return. Pricey...

We were there for the Easter Sunday Brunch and thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous meal. Food was fantastic. Steak was cooked perfectly and all 4 entrees were served hot and beautifully. Our server was just delightful and gave us service above and beyond our expectations. We could not recommend Newman's more highly. A friendly atmosphere in a beautiful setting!

Absolutely wonderful experience and fantastic food from start to finish. Service was exceptional, presentation was excellent and the meals were of the highest quality. This is our new favorite spot for a first class meal.

If you are staying at the Orchard Inn, be sure to enjoy at meal there. If you are in Saluda over a weekend, might indeed be fun. Food and service was very good. It was a special treat for my 70th birthday celebration.
