Pan seared redfish topped with dill Bluere Blanc sauce, served with Creole green beans, and heirloom potatoes
Our waitress Monique was amazing! The food was good but not the best we had in New Orleans. The man who created us was very rude which set the tone for this dinner but our servers were so sweet they brought the charm.
I did not have a great experience here. This was my first time attending this restaurant! It was my daughters 17th birthday and we wanted some authentic southern creole food. We arrived for our reservation on time and was greeted by the manager. He told us he would be right back and it toon him like 5 minutes to get back to seat us! We finally was sat. Mind you our reservation was for 8:45 pm to our surprise the restaurant closes At 9pm! I was in complete shock that they even had reservations that late. We ordered right away… drinks and appetizers…. Everything was good. Then we got to the actual dinner selections and this is where the ball was dropped.
My mothers meal came out undone (broiled crab and shrimp) $35 plate… how do you not cook the shrimp all the way through…. Same for my daughter and i… my mom was able to get something else from the kitchen before it closed. Unfortunately me and my daughter weren’t so lucky. Shrimp once again mushy and uncooked.
My sister at the taste of New Orleans and completely gagged. She was not pleased with her meal … she said that it was not freshly cooked but tasted like it was just reheated.
Once we brought this to our waitresses attention she was so apologetic but said she would prefer me voice my concerns with her boss!
The manager came over and wasn’t helpful… he basically would counter everything i said with an excuse like we are low staffed, the kitchen is closed. i asked one VALID QUESTION: Why would you have 8:45 reservations on open table if your staff and kitchen staff are off at 9am.
He gave me and my daughter $10 off each plat… i still paid for the rest of the plate that i did not eat!
The birthday dessert had to be snuck out of the “big fridge” which was locked by the manager. I had to sing happen birthday to my daughter alone …no candle in the bread pudding 🤦🏾♀️
It was just a terrible experience! I felt terrible for my daughter.
$150 down the drain and then had the nerve to add 20% gratuity
The service was excellent!! Food came out quick. The drinks were fantastic! The food was mediocre except The gator bites were on point! We happen to sit beside the only table with 2 small children who’s parents had no control over and they were so loud. But that has no reflection on the restaurant.
Food just wasn't very good
Food was mediocre at best. Clearly for tourists.
Fantastic! First meal I had fried shrimp and catfish platter. HUGE portions, crispy and seasoned divinely. Lovely courtyard to dine al fresco.
Second meal there I had the Fish & Grits with andouille gravy. Again, perfectly seasoned and cooked! We also had the Crab cakes Benedict. Service was super friendly without being pushy.
Generous portions and affordable prices. Will go back next trip for sure!
We had a great time the food was fantastic. We sampled a little bit of everything And found it all to be delicious. Interesting take on gator bites though, coming from Florida we have a different taste. Not sure which gator we were eating but it was still get
Incredible food and ambiance
My fiancé and I decided to check this place out for dinner on our first night in Nola. Made a reservation for here based off of a recommendation from a friend and boy were we not disappointed. We started off with Oysters Bienville, Stuffed Mushrooms and Gator Bites. Everything was delicious!! The oysters definitely stole the show for me! For dinner I had the taste of New Orleans and I was so happy with my choice! Being able to try all of the things I wanted to order without having to order 4 dinners was amazing. My fiancé had the snapper ponchatrain which was devine!! Overall we would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone coming down to Nola. The service and the food were both incredible!
Loved the Taste of New Orleans & gator bites! My husband’s shrimp linguine dish could have been spicier! Overall had a great time! Drinks were good too !
First visit as a resident. NYC pricing, including the parking lot next door.
Happy to visit once, and a beautiful courtyard.
Food and service was incredible. I love how they offer vegetarian jambalaya!!
The food was amazing! The Customer Service was great!!!!! Our server Mr. Alvin was great as well!!!!!
Awful service. They were out of most food we ordered. They turned off the music and started shutting down the restaurant half way through our meal, and it was only 8:45. Food was not great at all either.
It was a busy Sunday after New Year’s Day, but the staff did a great job keeping up with everything and the food was delicious
We had shrimp po boys and shrimp and grits. The meal was fair to average- not typical of outstanding NOLA food. Seemed like they were struggling with being under staffed, so I don’t want to be harsh. It’s a pretty place with a good atmosphere. The host could be friendlier when welcoming guests.
It took a while for our server to come greet us and there were dirty plates set out on our table, which is even more unsettling with covid. They were out of the chicken and waffles, bummer. But the shrimp on the po boy was great. Fries and bread were cold. Then it took the waitress a while to give us the check and then pick it back up for us to pay. Won’t be recommending this place to other friends visiting.
They had a special menu that was not mention on OpenTable when we got there. The were out of a lot of things food wise and drink wise. We were charger 5.00 additional dollars if you mentioned you were sharing anything! I complained to management who did take the charge off because it was not mentioned on special menu but is on their main menu. So, if you want a bite of someone's food at your table don't say you are sharing because you will be charged you!!!
Excellent service, drinks and drink presentation. The food was just ok.
The restaurant was out of coffee cream or milk ! WHAT?
No oysters (yes, in New Orleans, no oysters). A lot of items on the menu weren’t available. Glassware was dirty. Service was super slow. Waste of time and money.
Food & Service was great
The back wall ledge was extremely dirty. The food was just for the price. I would not go back.
We were looking forward to our 6pm dinner. When we ordered, we were told that they did not have several items on the menu including the filet with shrimp and a few other entrees, In fact they had no steak at all
They also didn't have a few appetizers including fried pickles.
We ordered the shrimp and crab combo and the taste of New Orleans.
The scrimp and crab came with no cocktail sauce or horseradish. We had to ask repeatedly for both. We also asked for a cracker to open the crab legs and we were told that they didn't have any and to just use our forks.
The Taste of New Orleans wasn't terrible, but not great.
We asked to speak with a manager about the lack of food and service and the gentleman that came to our table had an attitude, but ultimately "miraculously" found us some cocktail sauce with horseradish and also a cracker for the crab legs.
Terrible service, terrible attitude, food was just OK
I doubt I'll be going back here.
Great food! The staff was short handed but very good considering. We had 7 adults and 2 children. Everyone was very pleased with their order.
Pre sugar bowl brunch. 45 min late in 1:30 seating (when they warn you of limited grace period).
Server was very personable, but horribly slow and not attentive. Ordered a bottle of wine that never came, ordered dozen grilled oysters that we had to remind waiter and finally came 20-30 minutes after we finished meal.
Taste of New Orleans, was small bowl servings, 2 of the items - the Étouffée and Creole were cold and not very good.
It was New Year’s Day and busy, I get it but I wouldn’t recommend highly.
Terrible service—ordered bottomless mimosas and it took over an hour to get our first drink. Food was over cooked and cold.
New Year’s Day
WE WERE A FEW MINUTES LATE FOR OUR RESERVATION BUT THEY HELD OUR TABLE!! THX
Fixed NY menu… flavorless and mass produced, but nice courtyard
A very, very bad brunch experience.
We paid $75 a person for a 3 course brunch and “bottomless mimosas.” The food was just bad, no seasoning no flavor, no spice. Looked like something that was microwaved in the kitchen.
The bottomless mimosas were mostly orange juice with a splash of Prosecco at best. Our friends that got the bottomless Bloody Mary said it was mostly tomato juice.
Our server, Erica, was nice and friendly though. Other than that we have nothing good to say about New Orleans Creole Cookery. The tab for 6 of us to eat sad, sad food and drink orange and tomato juice was $450. It’s one thing to serve bad food, it’s another to charge guests like you’re a 5 star restaurant.
Made the mistake of coming here for NYE dinner and the service and drinks were absolutely awful.
We sat down at 11 for our reservation and ordered drinks right away - we didn't get them till 11:30. When we asked the host about the status of our drinks (when our server wouldn't come back) he said "you have to understand it's the end the night our bartenders finishing up"
What? Then why accept reservations for a time you know your staff is not going to provide service.
We ordered a Jameson on the rocks and a bloody Mary and I couldn't tell you what was served, but they were both disgusting.
When my husband got his dish it looked nothing like what was ordered, but since we were in a rush to make midnight plans at a different location we just asked for the check.
It's a shame we wasted a NYE dinner on this restaurant because the service and quality was awful, and for the host to admit that because it was the end of the night we should 'expect it', well, that says a lot about this establishment.
I appreciate it was NYE however when we arrived 4 waiters were just sitting in the lobby chatting. Once seated we were told they were out of salad & desserts so at least the evening was set. Our appetizer was cold and dinner came out before we finished and was also cold. Normally I would talk to the server but he never came back. Really not a great experience for what should have been a special evening.
Server did fine in midst of tough evening in kitchen. Multiple tables left w/ out being served. Kitchen out of multiple items, we were told salads no longer being served & 20% gratitity added automatically.
We “tried” to dine here last night for New Year’s Eve and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in an restaurant. After 47 minutes of begging for flatware , napkins and drinks our party of 8 left. I felt as though our server had consumed more drinks than us! We were served appetizers without plates or flatware. If you value your time and money never dine here!
Reservations on NYE. Service was actually better than many other places in NOLA right now. Food was meh and certainly overpriced for what it was. They were out of salad and desserts. Disappointing considering the number of people they were serving and the holiday.
Went for NYE dinner! The chargrilled oysters were excellent as was the rest of the meal. Felt well taken care of by the staff!
Food and ambiance were great, just a lil pricey. But what would you expect for a restaurant in the French Quarter? The char grilled ousters were delicious, definitely get an order of those.
Great food!!! Definitely coming back!
For lunch on 12/31/2021, our server had our table of 3 near the front, a table of 8 near the back, and possibly a table on the back courtyard. She was soft spoken and difficult to hear in the noisy dining area. While she was friendly, she was much slower than the other servers and stopped by the table to check in not as often as she should have. Another server, Celeste handled the tables in our area with much more attention and speed. The restaurant had a limited menu with good selection. The crab Napoleon appetizer was delicious! Each of our 3 entrees were to come with a sauce. None of them were served with the sauce. My beef was to be topped with grilled shrimp which were not served until the dish was sent back. We likely would have ordered more drinks had our waitress been by more often. While we normally tip 20% for good service and higher for great service, we would have left 10%, but the restaurant auto charged 20% this day. I did explain my concerns about lack of attention before the entrees were served. I would return and request to be seated in Celeste’s section because she was on her A game with her tables.
