Specialty drinks, and food were delicious. Best Shrimp and Grits I've had. Generous and tasty salads. In our party, we had several shrimp dishes and they all had plump, tasty shrimp that were flavorful and spicy, but not overly hot.
Great food , love the place. Have to try the redfish
Pleasant experience once we located the restaurant. GPS took us to a different location . Food was great . Service was outstanding .
What an absolute joke! Disgusting stale food.
We made dinner reservations for two on a Saturday night and chose the outdoor option available through OpenTable. When we arrived, the hostess told us that there weren't any outdoor tables available and we'd have to wait 30 min or we could get a table inside right away. We didn't want to wait that long and chose to sit inside.
It took a while for the server to notice us and come over to take our order. I ordered a glass of sparkling rose and he brought the wrong wine. He took forever to bring another glass when we brought it to his attention. Then, he disappeared again and the food took 45 min to arrive. By then, most people had left, the restaurant wasn't busy anymore and we were starving!
We ordered the jambalaya and a combo boil (shrimp and crab). Both were cold and disgusting. The boil was no longer fresh and it tasted like it had been re-boiled several times. The shrimp was chewy and the crab shell was no longer crunchy. Everything in that dish was cold and stale, except the potatoes. The waiter disappeared for a long time while we were trying to decide if we should eat that disgusting food or walk out. We were so hungry that we didn't want to look for another place, so we ended up eating it (big mistake!). But the food was so bad, we couldn't finish it even though we were starving. When the waiter finally came to check in on us, we told him about how bad the food was and he said that they seemed to be having problems in the kitchen because other people complained about the same thing. He took $11 off the bill (not sure how they calculated that) and charged us for a beer we didn't consume. Good thing I checked the bill and pointed it out.
Overall, it was a very disappointing dining experience in a city full of amazing dining options.
Very friendly staff, grilled oysters were best I ever had. Thanks
Alex the waiter was really nice and the food and drinks were great!!
The food was bland compared to other places in the French Quarter. It was also overpriced and the service was a little rushed and forgetful.
We enjoyed our meal, caution... everything is extra. No sides except certain meals. Salads. Vegetables are extra. Ended up at 30-40 per person. Good, but might choose another next time.
The ambiance of the restaurant was fine a bit loud but it is a party town. Were seated in a corner with a busing area right near us. I ordered the shrimp and grits but didn't want it smothered in BBQ sauce. I asked for it on the side and the waiter said no it couldn't be heated separately. I asked for salt and peeper and the shakers they brought out were plastic ones you could get at the Dollar store. Since we didn't order appetizers our food arrived in a flash. It seemed as though they wanted us in and out as fast as possible. Dinner was over in an hour. Not quite fine dining for the price.
The chargrilled oysters were wonderful, and the bartender was friendly and I like sitting at the bar
Must try the alligator bites and the BBQ oysters.
Great experience! Our waiter was fantastic and even helped us on places to visit while there. The food was phenomenal!
Food was awesome, nothing to say about that , taste good , smell good , feel good. Cocktails were great as well . However , even if the waiter was really a great guy , 55 minutes of waiting time is too much, especially when they forgot to bring our appetizer . All in all, I would definitely come back to this place , but not on a crowded week end like this one .
Hands-down, the worst experience I had in a restaurant in NOLA.
I made a reservation for one, for outside. When I arrived I was asked, "Oh, just you?" by the hostess - have you never seen a solo diner before?
I was seated at a nice table facing the rest of the room...not outside, as I had requested, but I was okay with being in the air conditioning. Unfortunately I was quickly asked to move to a different table. I figured it was to seat a larger group (adding my small table to another to create a larger table) but the table I had been moved from stayed empty during the duration of my time there, and I was moved to a terrible table shoved in the corner that hadn't even been cleaned yet. I was told that someone would be right over to take my order, but sat there for twenty minutes with no help from any of the waitstaff. There's no way they didn't see me - I made eye contact with multiple servers during my wait, but was consistently passed by with no acknowledgement, not even a refill of my water glass. I finally got up and walked out.
Wish I could have tried the food...unfortunately the treatment was so terrible that there's no way I'll ever go back.
Will was an amazing server, very attentive! The food was hot fresh and delicious! I would recommend to anyone who wants delicious food at a reasonable price!!
Everything about this place was great! We came to town from Atlanta wanting an authentic New Orleans meal. My wife and I got Jambalaya and Red Beans and Rice. They were fantastic and we both raved about them. Our server Penny was wonderful and provided great recommendations on these dishes. We will go back when visiting New Orleans again.
Very delicious food
For several of the gas the food was not good. The steak & chicken was very dry and the fish came with in an abundant amount of extra sauce. Pricing was high for some of the meals.
Absolutely...a must French Quarter experience! Food and service is exceptional.
Great place and my opinions are too much heat/spice in the jambalaya. The gumbo was delicious but the shrimp and grits, could use more shrimp and bbq sauce. Our server was very helpful and even though she was new she was friendly, and asked how our meal tasted shortly after delivery. I would go back and will recommend.
A wonderful dining experience. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items.
We had the pecan crusted redfish and the shrimp and catfish combo. Both were excellent with generous portions. We especially liked the delicious, multi-colored crispy potatoes served with each entree.
I ordered a steak and potatoes because after three days of similar foods I wanted something different. It wasn’t very flavorful. I’ve had better at Outback. The charbroiled oysters were really good. The crawfish ettoufee and shrimp and grits you could get from anywhere. There was nothing special for the price. I’m glad I used a Groupon because for $150 the food was just ok. Our server James was wonderful and the place is pretty and in walk district if you’re staying in the quarter.
Place was beautiful! Everyone was so nice and attentive. Waiter Ivan was the best! Food was delicious.
My party of 5 had reservations and were seated pretty quickly. After about 10 minutes, we had to ask about our server because nobody ever stopped by. After another 5 minutes or so, one of the waiters tracked down our server.
The table next to us had a great waiter. We saw him tending to his tables what felt like every few minutes. Totally different than our waiter. he was MIA when we needed him most.
The food was ok, but it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be though. Maybe my expectations were too high. I really wanted fried gator, but it was brought out in sausage form (which I didn’t know it was a thing). The jambalaya was tasty, but again, I just expected more flavor. It might as well had been from Maine or Vermont.
To top it all off, the waiter put all meals on one receipt and couldn’t or didn’t know how to run multiple cards. He ran my buddy’s credit card for 30 cents instead of $30.
I wouldn’t go back. Bad service, decent food, good looking restaurant, nice hostesses, and good ambience.
My new favorite place in the city. We went for my sister's birthday and completely enjoyed ourselves.
I asked questions and the waiter made suggestions that I went with. I was very pleased with everything.
Everything about the restaurant was great. My server was awesome. He checked on me, made sure I was satisfied with my food and drink, made an excellent recommendation and had a very pleasant attitude.
The customer service we receive from New Orleans Creole Cookery is always great. The food and drinks leave your taste buds and tummy feeling good. 😋
Loved the food and the experience. Will be back to try new items. Yu.!
Visiting from out of town. The server, Will, was very personable. The crab cakes were amazing
They the best food a wonderful dining experience. The dessert was so good my son-in-law ate 2
Not authentic creole food. Tried the gumbo both the seafood and yaya. Both were the same and neither had seafood or chicken and sausage. Had the taste of New Orleans dinner which had crawfish etoufee, jambalaya, shrimp creole and red beans and rice. I was really disappointed. Nothing tasted authentic. My spouse had the redfish coubouillion and it was fish in ragu sauce. Just awful. Don’t be fooled by the name. Total tourist trap.
Food was amazing and the restaurant is beautiful but I felt rushed by the server. I was with a client and he kept interrupting and brought the bill before we finished eating.
Very kind gestures towards our group for celebrations but the food was nothing spectacular. Very kind and helpful waitstaff
We sat outside and loved the atmosphere! Our server was very professional and was very patient as we decided what we were going to order! Let me tell you, best fish I have ever had! Just melted in your mouth and inside of tasting everyone else’s meals it was just an overall wonderful experience! The shrimp and grits was so buttery and amazing! Love love love!
The ambiance were not compatible to the price of the food . The crabcakes had a lot of filling but very little crab meat. I would not expect to be on concrete floors and Pay almost $60 for a meal. Where I was sitting, I got dripping onto me from the air conditioning. The closest parking lot was too crowded, expensive, risky.
We were very pleased with the food and service. We were disappointed to find out they have cancelled the jazz band as part of the dining experience.
We sat outside which was almost perfect, the loud ice machine kind of kills the ambiance along with the ghost tour that comes parading into the outside dining area to hear about the empty bar area (being used as storage right now), I guess it is famous?
The food was one of the best we had in NOLA, we had experienced a lot of bad restaurants in the French quarter earlier in the week.
We got the charbroiled oysters, taste of New Orleans, and the blackened redfish. All were very delicious, and a great introduction to creole cooking upon arrival in New Orleans. We used a Groupon for this meal and that really makes the restaurant worth it.
Our waitress was amazing, but the food was not good. We had good oysters, but that’s about it! Made my mom and I super sick afterwards. We had the shrimp creole and the crab cake Napoleon. The crab cake Napoleon was initially cold and the shrimp creole was fine, just not the best. Service was the best thing about this place.
