    I made this reservation because I wanted a good restaurant that was close to the Omni Shoreham Hotel.. Based on the numerous other positive reviews that I read, I chose to go to New Heights. After spending a very enjoyable evening there, I agree with those other many positive reviews. This restaurant is an absolute gem! One of the owners, Olena, who is from Ukraine, came and spoke with us at length about the restaurant and also about Ukraine. Her husband is the chef. She is extremely personable. When I ordered a shot of Ukranian vodka, she came and instructed us as to the Ukrainian chants that were to accompany my drinking of the vodka. She led the the four of us at the table, who all joined in, in those chants. I've never had so much fun drinking a shot of vodka! I had the Ukranian borscht soup for an appetizer, also we shared charred octopus and tuna tacos with others at the table. All were excellent. For the main course, two of us had the halibut, one had the filet medallions and another had the vegetarian lasagna. The halibut and the medallions were particularly good. The vegetarian among us also thought the lasagna was excellent. We shared two bottles of the same wine that Olena helped us select -- which was excellent. The martinis also were very good. The bread was great, with a nice tasty crust. We had S'Mores for desert, which I haven't had in years. They were served with a small flaming grill over which we could toast the marshmellows. Our waitress Rosie was excellent, personable, attentive and unobtrusive. We had a nice corner table, which comfortably accommodated the four of us. We made reservations for an early dinner -- at 6 p.m. -- but even after other diners arrived, we were able to converse without any appreciable background noise. Unfortunately, the rating system limits me to just five stars -- but if I could give it more, I definitely would! I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

    The service was excellent and the food was superb. The creole pasta with shrimp was excellent as a shared dish as were the crevice and onion cheese fondue. So glad we tried this new Michelin award winner.

    The overall ambience of New Heights is nice, but I would not impressed with the food or portion sizes. I ordered the halibut and it had no flavor. The mussels were mediocre too.

    This is the first time we have returned to new heights since the change in ownership. New Heights is outstanding, the food, the ambience and the service. Additionally, it was very quiet. We will definitely return A+.

    Happy hour was a bit of a mess (understaffed), but the meal itself upstairs was wonderful. Zhanna, our server, was delightful and efficient. The food was excellent.

    Our meal at New Heights was our "upscale" choice for our trip and we couldn't have been more pleased! The food was great, and there are a variety of options, and the service couldn't have been better. Our server, Katerina, was amazing! The art on the wall was by Ukrainian artists and we found that most of the staff was Ukrainian - some, including Katerina, had been displaced by the war. Such wonderful spirit and service was even more special knowing what they'd experienced!

    Fantastic meal. Everything was as delicious as it could be, pleasantly surprised by every course. No complaints about anything. The service was professional, but not overbearing. The atmosphere was tasteful and relaxing. I look forward to my next meal at New Heights.

    The whole place was soooooo tired. The waitstaff were not well trained. The menu was boring except for a dish or two. The decor was dated, unclean. Fruit flies were all over the place.

    Food and service was exceptional. The ceviche was superb. My husband and I enjoyed the halibut and the chicken. Both entrees were prepared perfectly. Our server was friendly and professional and made our evening memorable. We would definitely go back when we visit DC again.

    Intriguing unique menu… so very very delighted with this restaurant! Bolivian and Ukrainian husband and wife co- owners with husband as master chef. We had delicious beet salad and filet mignon, halibut and mussels. Service wonderful. Highly recommend.

    Everything from the craft cocktails to the desserts was just amazing. Perfect amount of food, plating was lovely. Sauces were delicious on the halibut and tenderloin tips! YUM!

    We hosted a business dinner for clients and friends here during the recent pharmaceutical conference. The staff were so delightful and helpful - thank you Rosie and Olena! The food was fantastic and all of our guests raved about the atmosphere. We will make sure to add New Heights to our list of preferred restaurants in DC. Thanks again!

    Interesting, delicious food. The tempura style mushrooms, broccolini Caesar salad, and the Brazilian steak are especially good. They’ve expanded their wine list, which is well priced, and the service and ambiance are very good.

    Wonderful food in a beautiful setting. White tablecloths, fresh flowers, nice background music, a lovely attentive server… highly recommend! We had the bronzini, fettuccini with shrimp, and a roasted beet salad, all excellent!

    The dining room is light with a superb view of the entrance to historic Taft Bridge over Rock Creek Park. We had an early dinner, and the place has an ambience of quiet elegance. Our dishes - seafood - were simple, because the food was fresh and cooked with great reverence to essential flavors. The service was sincerely friendly. A great place for conversation and warm laughter.

    Amazing as always. Kateryna was our server and she was fantastic. The owner even recommended drinks to go with each meal and we felt welcomed and at home throughout the entire meal. Can’t wait to go back.

    My guest enjoyed the peanut soup and kale paella; I enjoyed oysters on the half shell and pork buns; all were delicious. Service was excellent. Most importantly, it was QUIET enough to enjoy conversation; and, unlike so many restaurants now, it wasn't freezing cold but the temperature was really comfortable (I always bring a sweatshirt to restaurants when it is 100 degrees outside because inevitably the inside will be uncomfortably COLD). Welcome back, New Heights.

    This restaurant was spectacular in every sense of the word. From start to finish, our evening was perfection. The service is excellent. The staff is so warm and friendly from the moment you walk in. Our waitress, Zhanna, was a delight. The food was so good my mouth is watering now that I’m thinking of it. The bread was warm and the butter was soft!!! The ceviche was delicious. The shrimp pasta was outstanding. And the chicken breast was NOT DRY!!! Great prices. My only complaint? It’s too far from my home in NJ and I wish I could come back more often. Keep up the good work!!

    The food was beautifully prepared and presented - I had halibut and my friend had shrimp fettuccine. The staff was warm and welcoming. The restaurant is run by Ukrainians, and our waitress was a recent immigrant from the Donbas region. There was an exhibition by Ukrainian artists in the dining room and along the staircase.

    Flavors & ingredients are fresh and delicious. This restaurant's focus is on its diners. Service has been superb in all four recent visits. The Happy Hour is the best value in town, but dining upstairs is a lovely experience well worth the hefy price tag on some dishes.
