New Amsterdam Burger and Bar
Old location & menu was better, according to my friends who loved that one. Wings were awful & not cooked enough. My burger wasn't prepared as ordered, so had to send back. Meatball item we couldn't even eat & returned. Turkey burger & burger with egg were good. Service was great, very attentive. Not worth the almost 2 hour trip we took to get there, nor the price.
Good tasty burger and kosher
Great place to eat a great burger!
Very happy to enjoy dinner in the NEW, greatly enlarged restaurant. Hostess was very accommodating when we arrived early for our reservation. Service was fast, food was as delicious as before and the price was fair considering what is going on with other kosher restaurants.
Your prior location does not seem as cheap as this current location is. Charging 50 cents for dips and 8 dollars for a steamed ear of corn does not make me want to come back. The hype was about a new and expanded menu which I did not happen to see. Having a tiny plastic glass handed over to me for water was ridiculous as well, having to ask for the carafe to be refilled was even better. I will think twice before coming back as your prior locations new tenants offer a better value and larger menu. Looks like you have a full bar but do not have an expansive drink lists. For a place that took over a year and half almost to reopen it was a huge let down.
It was worth the wait for the new place to open
Very expensive for a burger. But food was good. Need to expand beer selection which was poor, Sitting outdoors was worth the wait,. Very comfortable and attentive staff.
This is an excellent kosher restaurant that specializes in burgers. But don't think of it as a "burger joint" - it is better than that and more expensive than that. The burgers are great - not dry and cooked just right, even for someone like me who usually prefers "well done". The "bacon" topping is great. The fries are really special - I wish I knew how they make them.
Went there for the first time, and the food was very good, and the service was great. The only downside was the price. $19 for a normal hamburger is pretty steep, and everything else, including toppings are extra. if you don't mind paying very high prices for hamburgers, the place is fine.
Food and service was great. Very happy they take reservations now.
Love the new look and menu. Something for everyone, and the food was delicious as well as the fabulous service
It was great hamburger place
Excellent. Best Kosher Hamburgers in New York. Excellent Service. Everyone could not have been more attentive. Mike (of Mike's Bistro) has another winner.
We have been going to Amsterdam for many years. Was excited about the reopening in the new location.
Menu is obviously more expensive, offering less. An embarrassment to say the least. If you charge, then be generous, and give!
Maybe 10 chips cheaply scattered on a platter of guacamole and chips. Potato chips with one of the burgers, the other burger came with no sides, why not fries?? For someone looking for a leaner option- grilled chicken, which isn’t even on the menu..Had to create a tossed salad from the choices of Greens, and tomato and cucumber.. very disappointed with the salad choices. When asking about a tossed salad, I was given a stare like I was from Mars, so odd. The chicken potion was so small. I know prices.. for $20, there should be a generous portion of chicken. Ugly, to say the least. The old Amsterdam filled a niche for a reasonably priced meal, fun lively atmosphere. The waitstaff seemed confused and unsure of themselves, rushing us out by pulling plates away prematurely as well as having the bill ready as he pretended to offer us dessert. To see the famous chef there that knows what needs to be done was reassuring at first, but left us very disappointed in a rip off meal.
Everything was delicious! The burgers were juicy and tasty. The fries were unbelievable! Will go back
Great experience! Food was delicious! Great service!
This is still in the soft opening stage and the reservations process was a little confusing.
The food and setting were outstandingt.
Everything we ordered was delicious, and service was great! Definitely will be coming again
Food was delicious but way too pricey for the value. A burger should always come with fries or a side especially when it costs $21 and up.
I am gluten free and kosher - and eating a burger without the bun is not always the best but Amsterdam Burger nailed it.
Once they understood the gluten free requirement, without asking, they provided the burger in a bowl on top of a salad with the lettuce tomato etc under the burger and the egg and other toppings on top. It was the best kosher burger I have had
The burger was delicious and the fries were crispy and delicious as well
Price a little higher than I would like for a burger - although I understand kosher increases the cost.
Planning to go back from time to time but price will affect the frequency.
Went for the soft opening, ambience is nice. Ordered a slew of apps and the burger. Sausage pancakes were excellent, fried eggplant was good. Meat and potato wedges app was nothing to write home about.
The burger I had a problem with. First of all, they only cook it medium well. That’s a big, big problem. Second of all, for $21, if you’re only going to cook it one way AND not serve it with fries(costs extra), it better be the best damn burger ever, and it was far from it. Decent flavor but very dry. Even adding “bacon” on top didn’t help it that much.
Expensive, wasn’t blown away by anything. Not sure if I would come back.
