We loved Neuf. It was a great evening and the food was spectacular :)
This was our 1st time at this BYOB tucked in between shops along the Italian Market stretch of 9th Street. The Bouillabaisse was phenomenal as was the Lyonnaise salad. The chocolate bark for dessert was also amazing. Malik, our chef, and Molly, our server, were gracious and welcoming. The French-Moroccan menu had many creative offerings. We thought Neuf would become one of our new favorites, but were informed as we congratulated our server on our very pleasant experience that the following night would be the last for Neuf. Truly a loss!
The service was very poor.
The waitress made a remark to my husband that upset him very much.
It was very hard to find parking on a Sat. night. My stepdaughter couldn't find parking and it made her 40 minutes late. My husband was already anxious about her lateness when the waitress said to him, "Where the hell is everybody?" I took it as a joke, but he thought it was rude and inappropriate.
I know that some restaurants like to have an entire party present to seat the party, but when a restaurant is located in an area where parking is difficult, it should be more relaxed regarding this issue, in my opinion.
Not only was the waitress rude to my husband, but there were two mistakes made in the order, and the service was very slow.
However the food is excellent and so were the drinks.
So sad to hear they are closing.
This was our second (and I guess final) visit to Neuf. We celebrated Easter with family and friends there on Sunday. As with the previous time, the food and drinks were delicious. Several of us had different shakshuka, mine was the lamb and apricot. We all loved them.
We were very disappointed to hear the they are closing in two weeks due to the lack of evening dinner traffic. I hope to hear in the future that they can open in another, better location for them.

Neuf is my favorite brunch place in Philly. The pear and brie omelette is the BEST! I love the ambiance, the friendly wait staff and of course Chef Joncal Lachman - always a delight! If you haven't tried Neuf for brunch - treat yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Delicious, creative north African inspired food, a nice break from the same old same old which most of the hot restaurants seem to have trouble breaking away from. Portions are generous - leave room for dessert.
Great food but a bit too salty. We were lucky enough to get waited on by the chief/owner. He is such a great guy and loves what he does.
Very nice Sunday brunch, lots of delicious choices, (French toast with fresh raspberries was decadent), lamb burger well cooked, shurshuka choices u usual and very good, French press coffee delicious, mimosa was not the usual...tasty! Overall very good and we will return!
Delightful dining experience - made even more fabulous by the friendly and well-informed server, who turned out to be JonCarl Lachman!

We went for brunch and had the Goat Shakshuka (yum yum yum! yolk was runny, goat was tender, sauce was amazing, altho not spicy/hot) Oyster sandwich (so fresh, so good), the Lamb Burger (the burger was well cooked, nice and pink, juicy, but could have more flavor or sauce) and the French Toast (really yummy, crunchy, similar to funnel cake, but lighter).
Bacon here is amazing by the way. I want to come back just for the open faced oyster sandwich. Service was kind, prompt, attentive. French press coffee is unlimited, charges per mug $4, which for a coffee drinker like me is such a steal.
They let us sit there for two hours, and even kept bringing us coffee after we paid the check!
There's also fruit and vegetables vendors outside, and we bought some very cheap and tasty veggies.
Neuf is my favorite brunch place. Food is always amazing. Relaxing atmosphere. Hosted by the best restauranteurs, Chef Joncarl Lachman and Bob Moysan. Good times. Never disappoints.
2nd time here. Food very good both times. Atmosphere nice. Tagine very good. Ask for rice in Tagine if gluten free. Waitstaff a little distracted both times. Usually can find street parking nearby.
The Bar tender would not honor the happy hour which ended at 7:00 claiming that she does last call for happy hour at 6:45-6:50. Funny thing was I tried ordering at 6:52 and there we're only 3 or people at the bar all taken care of. I found this both disappointing and disrespectful.
Service was absolutely excellent! Food wasn't bad, but I wasn't that in love with my shakshuka. (In Israel, green shakshuka generally means no tomatoes. Not so at Neuf! But I should have asked.) My friends' food was all great, the coffee was glorious, and the service was exceptional. I would definitely return here.
Such outstanding food. I love the Tunisian Meatballs! We had the spicy goat tagine, but the meatball and sauce and goat cheese blew us away.
The bread was amazing! We need more of that bread! My husband wanted to buy a whole loaf of it :)
I had the fried oysters and that was (to me) especially delicious, delicately fried, with a delicious shmear.
Neuf is one of my favorite spots to eat in the city. The food is always wonderful and the ambiance very warm and cozy. Perfect for a date night. Unfortunately, the service was sub-par this visit. The waitress seemed aloof and was rather inattentive to us. She put the wrong order in for my husband's dinner and didn't check up on us until we had to hunt someone down close to 10-15 minutes after it was served. The staff made up for it with a free dish and a glass of wine, which was nice, but I was still shocked at how off the service was. This is very unusual for Neuf. I will definitely go back because it is one of my favorites, but I was disappointed this time around.
Went for brunch because I read great reviews. Place is cute. We got a window seat for 3 which was good. Food was good, but I was expecting GREAT food. My brother ordered the tagine. It was sausage, bacon and all sorts of other pork products over cous cous in a pot with a dome. Expected there to be a sauce with maybe some veggies. It was BORING. Probably won't go back as there are so many phenomenal restaurants in the city.
Overall an enjoyable night! Mains were tasty, but nothing extraordinary. Portion sizes were a bit on the big size. It would be better if they dropped the price and size on mains--encouraging diners to order more small plates. Service was excellent. Very nice vibe in the restaurant making for a fun outing.
Love the combination recipes of french and N. African. Wonderful. The braised lamb was delicious.
Our server was less than enthusiastic. I told her it was my son's birthday (4 of us were at the table) I asked her if they had a desert menu - she answered yes. She never offered us desert when we were finished our meal, didn't bring a cookie or something for my son and just left the check. Unprofessional. My daughter is a server so I gave her 20% - reluctantly.
We were so looking forward to coming to Neuf and our server really put a damper on it.
Great brunch spot. Took the kids. Food was delicious despite the waitstaff missing a few of our coffees.
Seafood wasn't the freshest... I did like the environment and the service.
They only had one high chair In the restaurants and three tables had babies including ours. Not kid friendly.

Every visit is an adventure in dining. Keeps getting better and better. Our foursome loved every bite. Cocktails inspired. Service so special. Very welcoming.

Service was stellar. The cocktails were delicious. The small plates and appetizers were fantastic. The tagines were very good but not as interesting as the small plates and appetizers. Wine list was a nice size and interesting. Desserts were light and lovely, though the candied orange was surprisingly musky and a little bitter. It wasn't bad, just very different than what was expected.
We loved Neuf!! Great brunch spot. Staff is really friendly and courteous. Could not wait to go back and was not disappointed on my second visit. In the heart of the Italian market, so was really fun to walk around after brunch. Looking forward to our next visit.
I have a new favorite brunch spot! My friend and I were pleasantly surprised by the hefty portions and perfect seasoning. Definitely returning soon.
My experience was a bit disappointing. Friends have said very positive things about Neuf, so I wanted to try it. But the Lamb Tagine was bland and overcooked. I read Craig Le Ban's review from about a year ago after I got home. I was shocked that after so much time had passed since he penned his review that the food still had the same problems he described. My friends ordered some of the other dishes he criticized -- my tasting of their food confirmed Le Ban's opinions.
I'll give the restaurant another chance in a few months, since it has so much potential and the staff and venue have so much charm, but I will order something totally different.
The New Year's Eve prix fixe was a gluttonous delight. Portions are generous for a fine dining experience. Staff is incredibly helpful.
Great Meal with just ok service including a change of staff in the first course of our meal. The Tunisian meatballs were absolutely amazing and the goat leg tagine was outstanding. Both were dishes We ordered at a large table with several other items and they far surpassed everything else we ordered.
Amazing Moroccan salad and quails.
We had a fantastic dining experience at Neuf. They were kind and flexible with our requests to add two guests to our reservation and change the time of our reservation at the last minute. The cocktails were yummy and unique, and the food was delicious! None of us had ever tried goat before, and we all agreed it was great! I really love its location in the Italian Market and the overall feeling inside with the grand windows in the front. Thanks, Neuf!
