From start TO FINISH our dining experience was sheer perfection.
Food was good, but small portions and over priced for what you get.
Every once in a while there's a perfect restaurant, where the owner, the entire staff and chef are in perfect harmony. Nerano is that awesome combination. I've eaten there enough times where by now I'd find something... anything... that I could consider displeasing, but every aspect of this wonderful restaurant leaves me satisfied and wanting to come back as soon as possible.
Excellent dining experience. Good food, excellent service and warm ambience.
Expensive and excellent only for an eggplant salad and dessert. Pastas O.K, but not exceptional.
Good food. Good service nice people
Great Italian food!
superb food, superb service - quality ingredients, authentic Italian, which is devoid of heavy red sauce with a heavy dose of parmesan... outstanding pizza... GREAT SERVICE... gracious, first class staff from the moment you walk through the door - without being stuffy
A lot of compliments to the chef Michele Lisi!
He is so talented!
We had the best spaghetti with claims and seafood risotto!
Taste also his special dessert....nocciolino, delicious!
I highly recommend this restaurant
Excellent food, great service
Place was a bit more casual than expected. It was also pricey given that location and quality of food and experience.
Excellent food, attentive service - a great place for great food
Fabulous meal, so accommodating to our special requests and absolutely delightful all around. The saffron risotto with gold leaf was extraordinary, gorgeous and tasty yet light. The seafood was so fresh and not over cooked like most places nearby. Best Italian in town by far!
Everything was excellent.
Loved the food.
Seating situation was a little awkward with a large party next to us. I asked for another table and they said this was the only one they had, but the large group was leaving soon.
The hostess then returned with complimentary champagne which was very nice. The group also left soon thereafter, and the seating situation was comfortable after that.
Service was great overall.
Thanks Nerano - I will certainly be back.
Our meal was excellent. Service was truly caring. Unfortunately there was
a group of ten adjacent to us that were a bit noisy. We were in the front room as I requested.
I think I would prefer the back room.
Loved the crudities to begin with. They enabled me to feel no guilt for the outstanding
We would travel to this restaurant. We are fortunate that it is nearby. The food is wonderful. Do not miss the pastas or the fish...sublime. The staff is attentive. The atmosphere is pleasing.
This might be my favorite Italian restaurant in LA.
Authentic Italian food at its best that managed a seamless blend of “high quality” “gourmet “ and “comfort”.
The food is simply delicious and my “hall of fame” items are:
Pizza Bianca (and I am not even a fan of white pizza..but the burrata, truffle and squash blossom combo still have me dreaming...)
Gnudi-the pasta my server informed me got voted as sexiests Pasta LA’s (won’t tell why..just go and experience it yourself!!)
And if you can spare some space to indulge in some Dessert/Dolci dive “all the way down” to the bottom of a unique sweet flavor explosion named
I dare you to have a spoon even if you ought to believe there isn’t anymore room!!
Last but not least the staff!
Their knowledge about the menu and wine and attentiveness is perfectly on par with the entire experience!
And if you find yourself lucky enough to get served by Armando-your mind might just trick you to believe that you actually are at the Amalfi Coast after all......
I was quite excited to try this restaurant given the relationship to Toscana- one of our favorite restaurants for many years. My daughter and her colleague were in from NY and I wanted to try someplace new and special. My daughter eats out 6 nights a week in Manhattan so she is very picky. First the good news: ambiance was nice and noise level conducive to conversation but not like a morgue. Our waiter was excellent. the appetizers and salad were very good. However, both my daughter and I ordered grilled fish-branzino and dover sole- and her friend the chicken. The fish was highly disappointing because it was so overcooked. Of course I could have said something to the waiter but chose not to. I must say tables around us seemed to be ordering pasta which all looked quite delicious. So if you go, consider that first.
Its a bit pricey but the food was excellent as always.
Superb ravioli & red sauce with pesto. Delicious Dover sole & Branzino. Great desserts. Attentive service. Everything is perfect. And customers can converse without shouting over unnecessary music. Six stars!
The staff is very friendly and informative. The food is fresh and delicious. The upstairs lounge is cozy and fun. They have a great wine list and cocktail options. The tequila options are prime. The desserts are fantastic. The chef always has an amazing selection of specials and also caters to your needs. They are very open to changing around the food if you have specific dietary needs.
This was our 3rd or 4th time at the restaurant. We've been very excited to return and introduce friends to this new neighborhood eatery. Unfortunately, both of our simplest requests were ignored. We asked to be seated in the main room near the window and to have Jesse as our waiter. When we arrived, sorry tables in that area were not available. We were seated at the "corner-most" table outside of the main room. An empty table nearby was open - we asked if we could switch but were told the people who requested it were "in the bathroom". That table remained unoccupied for 1 hour into our meal. We loved our server, Sarah, however, we don't appreciate being treated dismissively.
Our Waitress Sarah was the absolute best! The food was exceptional and we will definitely be back.
We've eaten at Nerano several times now and have concluded that its a far cry from its Brentwood sibling Toscana. While they share some of the same dishes or style of cooking, Toscana outshines the newcomer in service, ambience and consistency of its cuisine. On this most recent outing, our waiter, while trying to be charming, was in too much of a hurry as he frequently ignored us. Once we ordered, he managed to spill water on one of our guests (who is actually a regular), not once but twice and seemed to think some desert and limoncello would make up for his inattention. The food was good to very good, with the Gnudi being the standout. The beet salad, while small, was an interesting take on the standard, with thinly sliced golden beets, tiny specks of goat cheese and toasted hazelnuts. My spaghetti with lobster special was good but less flavorful than a similar dish at Toscana. Pappardelle with duck ragu was also good but not great. We'd go back if we were at an art show across the street but otherwise will skip Nerano and head for its big sister on San Vicente.
Great food and service. Restaurant was a little bright. Loved the bar upstairs
Consistently awesome coastal Italian cuisine. Great vibe, great service, love this restaurant and their upstairs bar.
Went there with a friend on Easter Sunday. Were seated immediately, they cut vegetables with a great vinegar dip and delicious bread. I had their fennel salad and veal chops for the main course and my friend had asparagus salad with pasta. The food was delicious. Service was great. Would definitely visit again.
Make sure to ask for Sara. She is awesome!
Excellent as always
Delicious. Delicious. Delicious.
Truly authentic Italian with mouth watering pasta and flavors. They also shave fresh black truffle on your dishes!
THIS WAS A LOVELY RESTURANT, WONDERFUL WAITER, FABULOUS MAITRE D, AND VERY GOOD FOOD. IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE FROM PALOS VERDES.
Food is really outstanding. Service very attentive but not in your face. LOVE their free appetizer of fresh crudite with a lovely dip. We keep going back!
The best Italian in town. Patrick and his team are an absolute delight and the service is always superb. The eggplant parmigiana and the duck pasta are the stand out dishes for me. Try the Nocciolino - you won't regret it.
Great room upstairs. Laid back and very chill. Good food and great service.
too expensive drink, they charged us $35 for each skinny margarita. some of the cocktails where $50 or $55 by
We have been there 10-12 times and have enjoy every aspect of their service and wonderful cuisine!
We love this Resturant from the food to the service it should not be missed!
