Went to Nell Thorn for a special date night based on a recommendation from a local. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the scenic view. Unfortunately the service was a bit off, the server never brought a drink we ordered at the onset and the food was mediocre.

We had a lovely evening. The food was wonderful and the service perfect. When we first arrived there was a table with a couple of boisterous people which was a little distracting. Fortunately they left before our meals arrived so the rest of the evening was just perfect.

This was our first time at Nell Thorn, but it won't be the last, even though it was a 90 minute drive on a weekday evening. The food is superb: I had the Fishtown, and one of my companions had the salmon salad. The wine list was delightful, the server very skilled. It got noisier as the rooms filled, so going early made it more intimate. Go in time to stroll the waterfront and main street.

called to make dinner reservation,to early,so went on line, only time available 3: 30 pm we took it.called later to make sure we are seated in the dining room,answer yes, were not told that dinner was not served until 4pm.at 20 minutes after three we ordered wine and then found out that we could order lunch only,we did. we completed our meal around 5pm,the restaurant still empty,it would have been nice when we asked to be seated in the dining room to inform us over the phone when dinner was served it takes about an hour from Mukilteo

The setting was wonderful, we had a window seat so we could see the water. It was a great mix of locals. We had been once before and have not been disappointed. The food is fantastic! And served beautifully . And the deserts are killer. The first time we were there we were with another couple and we all ordered a different entree and desert. And passed around all of it. It was all fantastic. Right down to the wait staff. They are professional and delightful. You can dress up or down. For four people drinking wine or having a cocktail it was very reasonable. We are looking forward to going back. You do not leave with a restaurant letdown( Oh, why did we go there . ) Thank you Nell Thorn for quality ingredients, incredibly prepared and served by people who really seem to enjoy their clientele.

Black cod and salmon entrees were very good but overpriced. Cod was served atop soggy vegetables. Waitress forgot the pot sticker appetizer, but service was good otherwise. At $30+ per entree I expect cloth napkins instead of the paper ones in a basket with flatware on the table. Martini was good. Pot stickers great.

We had a table for 2 overlooking the water and even though there were 2 families with children nearby, they weren't disruptive. We very much enjoyed our meals. My husband had a steak with a mushroom sauce and I had the barbecued ribs. The ribs were some of the best I ever had. The sauce was pleasantly sweet with a deep smokey flavor. Real smoke, not that nasty liquid stuff. They were so tender they just fell off the bones. I made a special point of passing my compliments to the chef. Everything was fabulous. The prices are a bit on the high side, with $100 for 2 people at lunch so we can't go on a regular basis but we go for special occasions and celebrations. It's our favorite restaurant.

The waitress went out of her way to make our dinner enjoyable. She was always there when we needed her and absent when we didn't. The food was delicious and well-presented. Try the white wine on tap- it was great.
