   We booked a table after reading reviews on Trip Adviser. We were not disappointed . The food was delicious and the staff extremely helpful. An adjustment to the bill was made without complaint when it was pointed out that a discount had not been applied . I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

   Very nice evening. Marked it as Very Good rather Excellent only because I did feel it could have benefited from being better ventilated, as it did get quite warm by the end of our meal.

   Found Neil's on Trip Advisor and it really lived up to our expectations. Wonderful seafood restaurant, great food, with very friendly and eccentric staff - right up our street. Watch out for Vincent the vacuum cleaner though, apparently he can be a bit feisty........ ....and there you have it!

   Excellent menu choices and our meals were prepared and presented by the chef with flair and passion using outstanding local produce. It's a shame that a restaurant offering such good quality on the plate gets it wrong in two respects. I cannot recall a more inappropriate, incongruous selection of background music - Cilla Black, Hot Chocolate ...should never be played as background music in a restaurant such as this. If they can't figure out what to play for a mixture of dining guests then the obvious answer is no music at all. And then the service. Very prompt and pleasant but when will restaurants figure out how irritating it is when the server arrives at a table of two and asks "who's the hake?". Surely it's not difficult for this to be known by the server? And why do servers ask "is everything okay"? I didn't come to this restaurant for 'okay' food or service. The service is pleasant enough but it's these attention to detail points that would transform it from 4 to 5 stars.

   We found it to be a very friendly place very welcoming.Itis so popular that you do need to book.The staff were efficient and the food excellent

   Our delicious seafood and fish dinners at Neil's are always one of the highlights of our annual visit to the Sidmouth Folk Week. The Chef/Owner has a master's touch when it comes to preparing seafood dishes.

   Enjoyed the food except the two main courses we chose were no longer available. Waitresses were excellent & went that extra mile to make our evening, waitress/ taxi driver will know what we mean! The only negative is that the tables are to close together, we didn't enjoy the couple on the next table joining in on our conversation.

   Food was amazing, really great a locally sourced. The restaurant was rather warm though so needed to ask for the fans to be out on, other than that it was fab!
