Our front door is on the neighborhood facing side, in the Annie Street parking lot. Look for a black-stained door with a white and wood light-box sign. Our host will be waiting inside to welcome you! ADA accessible entry through the Sake Garden on the Congress sidewalk.
Please remember a face covering, you will be required to wear upon entry and while moving through our space.
The quality of the sushi is excellent. Very nice relaxed ambiance with good music.
Celebrate with mom on purchase of new home.
Everything was Amazing
Live walking distance from this spot so wanted to give it a try. Bummed you can’t see the sushi bar...I get its COVID but the bar was designed and built to not show the fish and the chefs working...the one thing they did incredibly well was their edamame and tempura...they have that down! I would recommend going for apps and drinks...also please note they are only beer, wine and sake.
There are better sushi spots nearby for the same price.
Fantastic food and service. Extremely beautiful dishes that tasted incredible.
Double date. Had a great time! The happy hour values are on point and the fluke is soooo good
A welcome addition to Austin and this part of town. Perfect name because this is what it really is - a neighborhood sushi place - enter from the back of the building you feel like you are in a blend of South Austin and Kyoto. We were very impressed with the Sushi quality driven by Jorge (if you know his work then you will not be disappointed here) and he brings a level of expertise not seen in most places. Very good menu of other items with solid tempuras and fish collars. Will continue to frequent this place as the prices were not too high for a regular rotation place.
I've eaten at Neighborhood Sushi twice now and I really loved it both times. The elephant in the room is how it compares to the Uchi restaurants and I think that is an unfair comparison. Both clearly have the best (freshest, best tasting) fish in Austin. The Uchi restaurants are focused a bit more on unique flavor combinations on their nigiri while Neighborhood sushi is about the sublime simplicity of high quality fish and perfectly cooked and seasoned rice. Both are worth checking out and both are worth returning to.
Second trip here and can’t wait to go back. I’m usually a try new places kind of gal, but can’t stay away. Will be back soon to try out happy hour.
Get the scallop nigiri. Do yourself a favor.
Very good all around. Everything was fresh and simple.
Decent neighborhood joint.
Amazing experience, I couldn’t be more impressed with the level of service. The food was to die for. Definitely a top sushi contender in Austin which is crazy since it’s so new. I had the best birthday here.
Average food, above average prices.
Very clean, really good food and wine/sake selection. I wish they had liquor cocktails but the ones they have are still really good. Great spot for a romantic date or to catch up with friends. The front door being in the alley kind of threw our group off but makes sense for the flow of the restaurant once you are in it. Great spot and will be back!
Great overall but would love a liquor cocktail option
Great food and very good service! We’re so excited to finally have a high quality SOCO Sushi restaurant.
Nice to see my girls! The rolls could use some work. But the quality level of the fish is what I would expect from this restaurant group. Nigiri & sashimi are delicious! Soups are awesome! Wine & Sake list is on point! I recommend. Feels like a little mom & pop sushi joint, good vibes.
Awesome sushi, great service, excellent ambiance. Will definitely be back.
What you'd expect from MMH! Trendy decor, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and drinks. We'll be back many times!
We love this place. Been several times now. Service is always top notch, music and vibes are immaculate. Fish is outstanding.
Lovely new spot! Sushi was divine and interior simple but sophisticated. Very zen, relaxed spot and the wine was off the charts.
Pretty unremarkable sushi- I know south austin is spoiled with Otoko and Uchi, but NS didn’t impress. We love M/M restaurants, but this one fell short.
This is great casual sushi spot with best quality sushi in town! The Rolls and service are fantastic.
Yummy sushi- nice vibe and decor.
The best edamame I've ever had. The sashimi was super fresh and delicious. Tried Fluke for the first time based on the server's recommendation and it was amazing! Will definitely be back. :)
Terrible sushi like the worst I’ve ever had. Fishy tasting and weird texture 🤢
The atmosphere was very trendy! We enjoyed our drinks, we had a variety of rolls which were okay, nothing mind-blowing. Surprisedly, the california roll was my favorite roll! It was very fresh and the best California roll I have ever had! Loved the appetizers and drinks! Would recommend for a date night or friends get together.
Hard to find the first time. Back entrance, obscure door. Good but very busy place. The servers are attentive, it just took a while - 30 min for first round of sushi. Got a bit faster soon after but I think there were a lot taking advantage of the happy hour and slowed down orders. Lots of take out going on as well. There were some really creative hand rolls which I would try if I went back. Our favorite Yellowtail scallion roll.
First good alternative to Uchiko we have experienced- Food and service were great there are a few dishes that need tweaking but it’s new and will definitely go back
We had a lovely meal recently. We tried almost everything and it was all fantastic. So happy to have this in the "neighborhood"
Great variety of very fresh sushi with delicious menu items. The service is excellent with the restaurant having a shared goal of customer service with everyone chipping in as needed. Chef Jorge has taken his art to the next level.
First time! Absolutely loved it. Food was delish. We got their early, like 515, and Were one of the only people there. Picked up around 6. Highly recommend sitting at the counter. Great new spot!
Our food was excellent and our waiter was amazing. However, upon arrival, we immediately noticed it was hot in the restaurant. The hostess informed us that the AC was broken and the thermostat was reading 80. I understand things happen, but the hostess also informed us that it had been broken for a few days. I really would have appreciated a phone call before our reservation time to inform us of this.
We loved the place! It was a wonderful date night for me and my husband, I can’t wait to go back with friends.
We loved it! The food was delish and the fish was so fresh. The music was fun, service was great, and it felt clean and safe.
Felt very comfortable with the way they are providing service at the moment. Also, that service is top-notch, as is the food.
Amazing specials and great happy hour. All of the cocktails are sake based and no domestic beers. Amazing rolls (favorite was the yellowtail with ponzu) and great nigiri options.
Audrey who was our original server was amazing, some other girl whom took over seemed like we were a bother.
We didn’t receive three of the rolls we ordered, when we asked if there was anything else coming out (anticipating the additional rolls) we got looked at like we were crazy and were told “everything you ordered came out”. I was so frustrated at that point that I didn’t even bother to look at the receipt to see if we were charged, paid our $500+ tab and dashed out. Our first experience was amazing, so amazing we booked to comeback three days later with friends and were met an experience that was completely the opposite of our experience just days before.
Delicious! And the waiter was helpful, friendly, and on it. Sushi was fresh and flavorful. Watch out, Uchi ;)
Love love love!!!
Best bite I’ve had in a while. MMH does it again!!
