The doors did not open on time. The coffee was lukewarm. They were out of cornbread and oxtails. The amount of money they charge per plate doesn’t align with the level of service provided.
The food is always fresh and right amount of seasoning. The vibe is calming with a hint of southern culture and island feels. I sat at the bar so the bartender was more focus getting ready for the night. Aside from that I recommend to anyone who has a love for authentic food and good ambiance.
Excellent food in upscale environment with classy ambiance. Great service and reasonably priced
Our server Maurice was phenomenal! Food was amazing and the music was awesome! We will definitely be back!
First time Negril and the experience was very positive. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. It's a winning recipe! It was a little loud, but hey...people are enjoying themselves. We will return and recommend.
We had an reservation and still had to wait. Wait to be seated and waited 15 mins before someone even acknowledged our table. We waited 30 mins on our cocktails too. We had to ask the young man who brought our food about out drinks because we never received tj prior to getting our food. Not a very good experience for my man’s 40th birthday. And it was our first time being there.
Food was great. Ambiance was great. I was annoyed with the 4 checks for big party rule. It’s actually kind of ridiculous and caused so many issues. Otherwise it was a nice night. Would go back again in smaller group but never for a occasion.
I loved it! I am definitely going to return the next time I visit the city! My waitress was amazing and she was VERY helpful! 💚 I’m glad I decide to celebrate my birthday here.
The food was VERY oily. But the service was great. But i feel like there need to be more drink specials if
food isn’t gonna be a forte. I also don’t like that the bathroom is in West Africa. How do disabled people access that area ? And only 2 worked and the handicapped one was out.
Had the Jerk Chicken and Waffle. Waffle was delicious with pieces of pineapple cooked in it! Very tropical spin on a traditionally southern dish. I was wondering if the Jerk Sauce was going to be spicy, so got it on the side. But it wasn’t too spicy at all. The only thing I would have preferred was the chicken being more white meat than dark meat. Overall really good meal with a good waitress.
Our waiter was new and excellent. Disappointed that they did not prepare for the holiday weekend which meant my favorite dish was not available AND they ran out of to go containers. We had to piece meal some small containers they had in order to take our food home. Love this place but it seems they always slip up on preventable things.
I’ve been to Negril Village quite a few times and was surprised at my most recent visit. The painkiller (drink) is normally quite tasty and it was very bland with no “kick”. My 4 guests and I were seated quickly however it took awhile for our server to come over. After we ordered and they were out of the snapper (Sunday 4pm reservation) which made me sad, all of my guests were excited. About 20 minutes after we ordered, the server tells us that there is no take out containers. So basically we couldn’t take any food that we previously ordered home. I was clearly confused as to how this happens but I also know that Negril should’ve had a workaround plan. No one decided to go pick up some take out containers for paying customers?? Then one of my guests didn’t eat any of their food as it was tasteless (oxtail pasta) and she kept putting salt on the dish. I asked to see the manager and she was more than accommodating by offering a table discount, a pitcher of rum punch (this also tasted quite different than the first glass we had upon arrival) and found one to-go small container for a side dish. I was truly disappointed in this restaurant however I honestly think it was an anomaly! I will try again one day..
Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. The only concern I have was the extremely loud music downstairs while having brunch with old friends and trying to talk over the music. The three of us were visiting from other cities and chose Negril Village to meet and catch up with each other. While the music was pleasant; it was too loud and we could not talk over it. We had to leave sooner than we wanted to.
Negril Village is an excellent choice for great food. I love dining in or ordering takeout. If you come on a Friday night, be prepared for an energetic atmosphere with live music or a DJ. Great for a date night.
I'm going to say yes because I believe in second chances. The greeters may have been tired, and may management slipped up on ordering supplies but the experience was less than pleasant. They were out of over a third of the menu items. Management should be better prepared. I've had much better Jamaican food in Atlanta without the attitude and for better prices. Some places understand that customer service is important and some just don't. I'll give this place one more chance sometime in the future when I can't think of any other options.
The music was too loud. It was hard to converse with my husband whom was sitting across from me. The food did not come out together, as we had to ask for remaining items. Drinks came out way after appetizer. Had to ask for utensils. Just not the best experience.
Bad service but food is always good here
Food, drinks, service and atmosphere was great as always!
Great Food, Great Space, Poor Service
The best buffet in town! The Dj was kinda wack, but the food was EVERYTHING!!
Not at all what I expected after driving 45 mins and paying $20 to park . The server was great but the food was average.
Food was good. Waited about 15 minutes for water but the food made up for it. Will definitely be back
I love love loved my experience. The food was delicious. I almost ate the plate! Mimosas smooth and tasty! Come on! You’re missing out!
The brunch buffet is always on point. I have ordered brunch off if the menu before and it was just OK. I like taking friends to the brunch buffet because the variety is awesome.
This is our go to place in Atlanta for Jamaican food. The oxtail pasta is my favorite. Nice urban atmosphere. I miss the live jazz upstairs during dinner. The service is pretty good but if you ask for something extra they will smile and bring it to your but charge you without mentioning it.
Atmosphere and music was on point! The bar service, where the money should be made, was underwhelming.
Great gathering for the team holiday celebration
This is our first visit. We decide because the Jamaican food sounded interesting and its walkable to the Fox Theater.
The Jerk salmon was delicious as was the jerk chicken. Wonderful service and we'll definitely go again
My brother came to Atlanta for a visit. I thought Negril Village was a good place to take him. Service and food was very good. Just wish they had an elevator to take you upstairs for the rest room.
I’m considered a regular now lol. Negril has an amazing setting, the staff is very friendly and professional they will literally go above and beyond for the guests. The food is outstanding but brunch can be a bit a loud so it’s hard to hear someone at your table other than that overall great!
We had a delicious meal and our service was very good. The music was way too loud for my guests though. Had the elderlies with me
Our food and service was amazing! The Host was courteous and prompt and our waitress was fantastic. We will be back!
Wonderful as always!
Very nice restaurant, service was great, very nice atmosphere. Negril is great date nights, family dinner or ladies night out.
I'm already planning to go back this month for the rum punch brunch. Food and ambiance was amazing.
Great experience at Negril! We were seated quickly, waiter was attentive, and food came out in a timely manner. My meal was delicious I have the jerk salmon sub for regular mash potatoes & a side of their Mac and Cheese. So delicious! S.N parking was $20 so just be mindful of that cost.
Excellent food, great service. Overall an enjoyable night.
I made a reservation through Open Table for dinner this evening. The food was okay. I had the jerk chicken, but the customer service was terrible. The waitress didn't ask my spouse what she wanted with the jerk salmon so we had to request another side. I ordered a vodka tonic and the waitress returned with a half-filled glass and then charged me $10 for it. A short while later she came back with the bill. Never asked us if we wanted anything else. Didn't even ask if we wanted anymore water. I spent $20 in parking and then a nearly $70 bill only to have terrible service. I left after only being there for an hour. And they also don't tell you that the tip is included in the bill. So unfortunately I paid extra for terrible service. Usually restaurants that include the tip in the bill do that because they know people won't pay for their bad experience in their establishment. There are too many good restaurants in ATL to be bothered with this place. I've gotten better service at IHOP.
Beautiful historic old fire house. Be sure to look up and see the holes in the ceiling where the fire poles were. Second plus, easy walking distance to the Fox.
Food was average. Just seems weird to eat Jamaican food in this gorgeous building. Also, the music was a bit loud and not charming, kind of jarring.
Cornbread is delicious. Shrimp and grits pretty good. Oxtail pasta good too. All servings were quite generous and much more than we could eat.
Bathroom is up the longest flight of stairs I’ve ever seen, which I didn’t mind at all. My older mother-in-law went through the kitchen to the service elevator, so tuck that away if anyone in your group is older or disabled.
Overall it was a pleasant dinner. Server was pleasant. Note, even though we were a small party our tip was already included on our bills.
We were there for my partners birthday and although the service was great, the food was not. I had Salmon that was overcooked, mashed potatoes with no seasoning (and actually tasted like instant potatoes) and old wine.. my partner had oxtails that were overcooked and not seasoned very well. The cabbage was bland and unseasoned.. the food was just not great overall. Our server tried her best to make the experience enjoyable, but the food ruined it all. We will not be back.
