About Permanently Closed - Nebraska Steakhouse
This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed -
Nebraska Steakhouse in the financial district has an old-school, traditional feel to it. Immediately upon walking in, you can enjoy a drink at the wood-lined bar before being seated. As the name suggests, the menu involves a lot of beef. However, there is also the salmon, oysters Rockefeller and seared tuna. At Nebraska Steakhouse, you can also enjoy some amazing ribs or surf and turf.
The sides at Nebraska Steakhouse also feature great options like crab cakes, baked clams, a bacon slab and more. You will also find mashed potatoes, steak fries, baked potatoes and hash brown potatoes for those who love a good spud.

Nebraska Steakhouse - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Open Table made a reservation for Nebraska Steakhouse and never even checked with the restaurant to see that it had been CLOSED DOWN the week prior. you even sent me a confirmation the day before. SMDH Twelve of us trekked into NYC from NJ for my birthday to find a notice on the door that it had been seized by the landlord and the restaurant was completely empty.
Thanks to Delmonico's for accommodating 12 people on a moments notice.
I will never use Open Table or recommend Open Table to anyone as you are totally unreliable.
Thanks for nothing!
stay away from this place , waste of your time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT ITS OUT OF BUSINESS. I HAD A RESERVATION THE OTHER NIGHT AND GOT TO THE DOOR AND THEY WERE CLOSED. I SPOKE TO GUY ACROSS THE STREET AND HE SAID THEY WERE MOVING STUFF OUT OF THE PLACE OVER THE JULY 4 TH WEEKENED. !!!!!!!!!
Hurry! Get your name off of this place! It is no longer Nebraska steakhouse and is a terrible representation of said company. The menu is lame, the service subpar and the whole trickery of thinking you're getting Nebraska steakhouse but instead ending up at hurley's pub is a real problem.
This restaurant is no longer Nabraska Steakhouse, it's called Hurleys Pub. It's very noisy, not very clean, and the service from waiter and manager were horrible. My fiancée and I ordered a bottle of sweet red wine, the waiter and manager consistently shrugged their shoulders at our request and seemed to not care about what we were requesting that evening. When presenting our food and wine voucher that I purchased, the waiter made it very clear they would not honor it.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
My wife and I bought a Groupon and got the Prix Fixe Lunch. I got the Iceberg and Blue Cheese Salad and my wife got the Green Leafy Salad. Mine was delicious and her's was just ok as it had way too much vinaigrette dressing. She got the Veal Chop with Mushrooms and I got the Prime Filet Mignon with Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. Her veal was blackened on one portion too much. My steak was just perfect. We got the Key Lime Pie and New York Cheesecake for Desserts which were delicious. The waitress was very slow but the male waiter was very helpful and it took a while for our food to be made by the kitchen. We drank tea with our meal and had refills done four times. When we got our bill they charged us $16 for the tea because apparently there are no free refills at this restaurant.
They have changed their restaurant name and they told me they have a new chef. I order the porterhouse for 2 and it came out looking like they threw the steak on the plate and was not cleanly cut. There was no grill marks or anything and it was really rare. I order cream spinach, it was cold. The onion soup was really salty. The was playing hip pop and r&b music really loud. It's not a steak house at all...more like a pub.
The food was good but I have had better at other steakhouses. It took forever for a waiter to take our drink order. I was disappointed with the olives used for my martini. They were the little ones. We then ordered an appetizer (calamari) that was good. They were out of oysters. We ordered our entrée which took forever to get. I got the lamb chops (good but not spectacular) and my mother got a fillet (she said it was good). I got a Caesar salad as well. The salad should have come out before the entrée. It came with the entrée. Overall I would say it was average.
Found this spot on Groupon and thought wow this is a great deal! Turned out that we had to pay 25% automatic gratuity and was able to get the 4 lunch prix fixe we paid for. Instead we were offered the entire value of the groupon. Sounds like we got a better deal by using the value of the Groupon? NOPE! We got 2 steaks, 2 mashed potatoes a la carter and each had a cocktail for a total of $165. Our Groupon was for 4 ppl to each have a meal and cocktail with a shared appetizer. You do the math! Don't order any mixed drinks as you will only taste the sugar! $16 for a whiskey sour and it tasted more like a shaken refresher minus the alcohol. I wish I could get my money back for the groupon because this place was not even worth the $38 tip they forced us to pay. This felt more like a locals only are welcome! They seem to get more liquor in their glasses! 2 thumbs down
Had dinner for two at Nebraska Steakhouse this past Saturday evening and would have to describe the experience as mediocre at best. For weekend dinner, the place was a ghost town and most of the staff were mulling about and watching March Madness on the bar TV screens.
One of the staff members, a younger gentleman who appeared to be a server, made an unsolicited comment to my boyfriend regarding women's lack of sports knowledge after eavesdropping on our conversation. Not only was he not a part of our conversation and not our server, he was flat out bold and rude. I have no idea where that level of audacity came from, but it left us incredibly irritated. The restaurant manager should take note and consider discussing proper service etiquette with their staff.
That issue aside, our particular server, albeit very friendly, had to return to our table multiple times to inform us that parts of our order were unavailable. We inquired about multiple bottles of wine on the menu, none of which were in stock. The server then recommended a house red, which we ordered based on sheer lack of options (was not great). He later returned to notify us that they were out of the Tomato and Mozzarella salad (AND out of crab cakes, seared tuna, baked clams and a variety of other menu items). Basically, less than a third of the appetizers were available. We ended up ordering Shrimp Cocktail from the raw bar which actually was quite good.
While both our entrée choices were available, my Filet Mignon which I'd requested be cooked medium, came out rare, bordering raw- cold to touch in the center. My boyfriend, who also had ordered a medium cooked cut, received his almost well done. I sent my filet back to be cooked further and even on the second try, it was not medium, but closer to medium rare. Our side of asparagus was good, while the creamed spinach lacked flavor.
It comes as no surprise that the restaurant was nearly empty. With small improvements, they'd do a much better business.
I don't think the restaurant was prepared for the Sunday Brunch that was offered. Our server switched out after taking order and any mistakes made with our order had to be handled by the server who stepped in his place. She was great and I felt she was put in a very bad position, when the order took over an hour to arrive at the table, and the mistakes that came with the order she had to deal with.
Food was cold, order not cook correctly, an $98 porterhouse should be medium rare and is well done, giant piece or port chop should be medium, come out well done, Veal chop medium, became well done, worst experience ever in a steak house. Sear tuna order rare and come out well done, its cold(not mind if its rare) and just 2 small pieces(2x4 inches, 1/2 in. thick) for $36, do not order all all. Side order of Onion ring, batter is raw inside, streak fries dry and burn.
Worst is, just one waiter and one busboy, seems the waiter is not only waiting, also a bartender and chef.
Do not return my credit card after billing, forget to pack my leftover food, do not want to pack but my son need to leave early and force myself to pack it for him.
Seems the restaurant want to save money and customer service and food is the last piece to consider.
I reserved a booth for a business meeting of 4 people for 11:30AM. I was coming in from out of town and arrive a little early. They allowed me in even though they were still setting up. I was very appreciative since it was cold out. I had my laptop with me I was able to setup at the table. I was able to conduct my meeting with my employees with no issues. I was there for 4 hrs. Noise level was moderate. Not loud enough to interrupt our discussions though. I did notice that other patrons were there on business meetings as well. I ordered the Baby Spinach salad with Salmon. It was delicious although I did ask for two modifications to my dish that they didn't do. I asked for no carrots and dressing on the side. The head waiter was a true gentleman. He even asked for my coat so he can help me put it on as I was leaving. Overall I had a great experience. I recommend this restaurant when you are in the area and I will come here again for future business meetings with my employees.
My husband and I went for an early Valentine's Day dinner since we live close by. The service and the food were excellent. In fact, the only complaint we had was that they had actually run out of filet mignon! I wouldn't expect a steakhouse to run out of such a key dish. However, the server gladly gave us the New York prime sirloin for the same price as the 8oz filet and it was delicious and cooked perfectly for both of us!
Very disappointing Christmas Day experience, waited 90 mins for main courses, food was cold, not enough wait staff, only one chef. Feedback to manager resulted in no apology but bottle of wine removed from bill. I took my parents who were visiting from the U.K. Would not return.
