Nebo Ratings and Reviews
Very overpriced and unmemorable meal. We had a variety of gluten free and normal dishes. Nothing to write home about. Even the award winning zucchini lasagna wasn’t anything spectacular - good but not enough to justify the high prices. The mushrooms were phenomenal and the only thing I would get again. Caesar salad wasn’t tossed - a little dressing was drizzled on top. We won’t be returning.
This was the first time we are here and we were all pleasantly surprised. There were four of us and all our meals were outstanding. Generous portions, unique take on classic dishes. The dessert portions are very large. Our favorite dish of the night was the veal. The wine list has a great variety and their gluten free menu is the largest I've seen. Will definitely be back!!
I truly think Nebo was the best dining experience I've ever had, certainly in a long while. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Our waiter, Giovanni, introduced himself from the outset and could not have been nicer or more attentive. We also loved our conversation with Carla, the owner. The interior is beautiful and spacious, with great seating options in the main dining section, at the bar, or at a bar in the window. As a vegetarian, I don't generally love eating out because there are usually so few options for me at a typical restaurant. I'm eager to get back to Nebo because it made me really look forward to going out to eat. Thanks to all for a wonderful experience.
I made a mistake selecting Nebo for a dinner with a business colleague where we needed to chat about our respective companies. Even though we were seated at the table farthest from the bar, we could barely hear one another. Nebo is loud. Really loud. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is for a business dinner. The food and wine were great, and the waiter could not have been more attentive. I'll be back, but with reset expectations! btw - I am gluten free and they have a fabulous GF menu here and take it seriously!
We came in Saturday night, 645. We were promptly seated, taken care of well by our server. Terrible with names, but a tall gentleman who was very attentive and took care of us throught our entire dining experience. My girlfriend has Celiac disease, and they accomidated nicely with their variety of gluten free option, many places have none or very few which stinks to drop her down to always those same couple options, steak or salad... Food was excellent the only minor issue was they have veal milanese on the dinner menu but not parmesan. No big deal, I asked if they could make me one anyways since they obviously have all the ingredients. As with everything else, "sure, no problem". Excellent veal, excellent handmade bucatini. But the bill came and they charged me full price for the milanese, and $16 for a side of pasta making my veal parm $45. Which I thought was overkill, maybe an extra $5-$7 since I wasnt getting the full veal dish and just an upcharge wouldve been sufficient as opposed to paying for 2 full dinners while only getting one. Just a minor detail, otherwise fantastic! WE WILL BE BACK! Ive already told a ton of people about this place too! Keep up the GREAT work!
My husband and I went here before going to a show - Easy to find, reservation waiting, really wonderful food and wait staff. I am entirely gluten free - they have so many options and are capable of handling food allergies. I would recommend to just about anyone looking for a special meal! It was easy and delicious.
We went on Sat. night for my husband's birthday. Some reviews complained about service but said food was good so we tried it. The restaurant was busy so we hoped for the best. Past reviewers must not have had Giovanni as their waiter. He was excellent - friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about food/portions. Burrata and Polpo appetizers were delicious. We were tempted to go for the Bobby Flay Throwdown winner, Zucchini Lasagna, but opted for the Bucatini Fra Diavolo and Tagliatelle with Scallops - both were great. Since we had checked off "special occasion-birthday" on the Open Table reservation, Giovanni brought over dessert with a candle at the end of our meal (without us mentioning it). Decor is lovely - sort of rustic industrial with exposed brick, etc. It was a little loud in there because it was so crowded but not bad because we had a nice table for 2 by the windows. All in all a good night. I would definitely recommend it to friends/family.
Sadly, many things went wrong on Saturday night. First I was told by the hostess that she could not seat us until all members of our party were present however, the table right next to us we're seated and the rest of their party showed up 20 minutes later.....Our server was not to switft and we had to repeatedly ask for items 2 and 3 times and repeat all 3 courses of our meal twice; not what your would expect for this price point. The food was good but I would not say great. The grilled octopus appetizer was delicious as was the burrata and prosciutto. My branzino was cooked perfectly but the cioppino the other 3 members of my party ordered was sub-par; definitely lacked flavor. The ricotta torta for dessert was excellent!
Nebo is my favorite restaurant in Boston! I was a fan back when it was on North Washington St and our North End Moms group would meet there for dinner and drinks. Palotta sisters and their Mom always took good care of us, and they still do. Food is authentic Italian and delicious, and the restaurant has a great vibe at their seaport location. My significant other took me for my birthday and we had a great time! Anything I’ve ever had there is delicious, but some of my favorites are the mussels appetizer, broccoli rabe gnocchi and spumoni sundae (which they brought with a candle). Thank you!!!!
The burrata was really great but I find it silly when you're charged for bread to put it on...I don't recommend the ricotta gnocchi at all. Really greasy and odd texture/flavor. I would like to return and try something different sometime as the menu sounds very good. Our server was a bit pushy and visibly annoyed we were taking our time to pay our bill (enjoying conversation) even though there were plenty of other tables open.
