It was great food, our waitress what nice enough, a little unenthusiastic but we all have those days. The noise level was more than I expected so that was a little disappointing. I also sat next to a couple of younger girls wearing T-shirt’s and sweatpants but I thought I had read there was a business casual dress code.
Fantastic food and service!
Delicious food, great ambiance. Love this place.
A little disappointed in prix fixe for Valentine's Day that was not advertised. Full menu was not available. However, good food and service.
Wide variety of options on the holiday fixed menu with a decent amount of food for the price. Some wines a little over priced, especially those you can find somewhere like Trader Joe's.
It was our first time here and we enjoyed it very much.
When I made my reservation on Open Table, I indicated that it would be for a birthday celebration, and requested a dessert with a candle for my husband at the end of the meal. There was no reply from open table or the restaurant saying that this wouldn’t be possible.
After we finished our dinner, the server asked if we would like any dessert, and I realized then that she didn’t know/had forgotten the request.
It was very disappointing that the ‘birthday dessert’ wasn’t provided as I had expected.
The food we had was very good, and the menu had a variety of interesting choices.
The staff is great... menu has expanded and all apps and salads are worth trying. Steak frites is a classic and the wine list has plenty by the glass choices and variety. Great value too
The Bistro is a great local spot, you can always count on a great meal and friendly service.
Excellent food, service and wine. Doug is a terrific host and bartender. We love eating at the bar there. Though tables are also nice.
Glad we visited this nice little spot. I will definitely visit again.
Awesome. Great food and great drinks.
My family went to the Navy Yard Bistro for my birthday and we were all very pleased with the restaurant and the food. My salmon was delicious, my daughter loved her swordfish and my husband and son loved their burgers. I got a great birthday dessert with a candle in it. Nice time and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I normally wouldn’t rave about chicken as chicken is boring. But NYB has the Best chicken dish ever!!
Anotthee great evening at the Bistro. We had the salmon and the cod. Both were outstanding. Nice wine selection, too
This is one of our neighborhood go-tos and it never really lets us down. It is cozy and familiar. The staff are welcoming but not patronizing. The food is consistently good and they have an extensive wine list. There are some options for vegetarians as well as a wide variety of selections for non-vegetarians. We had another enjoyable evening at the NYB! Will be back.
My husband and l both enjoyed our meals, everything was absolutely delicious and the service was spectacular. Will definitely be returning.
Navy Yard Bistro never disappoints. I have dinner there every time I'm in Boston.
We like coming here, interesting menu great location. However parking is always a challenge and weekend nights are REALLY crowded. Don’t even think of trying to get a table without a reservation! But Sunday afternoon is a great time.
Food was very good we all enjoyed our dining experience!
Excellent place for dinner with some outside dining. Great wine and beer selections.
Something wasn't quite right, during the evening – abysmal service and a 20 minute wait to be seated, when the restaurant was nearly empty. The food was just OK, which is not the norm for this restaurant. I was surprised...
The varied menu is truly outstanding with lots of great selections...there is literally something for all tastes and appetites!
Most importantly, Rebecca our server was terrific...had pretty much the entire outside bistro area including a huge table of 12-14 diners and she never missed a beat! Love the outside dining...maybe get a few outside heaters to keep it going thru the fall...
Food was very good. Waitress was horrible. If not for bus boy we would have received no service.
Dining at the Bistro is always great! We were there for my father's 83rd birthday, and they always make it special. The service and the food were amazing.
From the moment my daughter and I walked in everyone was so welcoming and nice. Food was definitely worth the price! Loved this place and will be back again when in Boston
The duck wings were delicious. The pasta & feta stuffed lamb meatballs entree was excellent, I would definitely order it again. They were out of the chocolate ganache cake unfortunately, but the gluten free chocolate cake was a tasty option. They were understaffed that night so we had a brief wait for a table, but the waitress did a very good job taking care of everyone in a timely fashion. The menu is really unique & interesting, and the location is quiet & cozy.
Great little date night! Not the most amazing dish I have ever had but decent price, good service, nice area. Will definitely go back.
We enjoyed our dinner here. Food was very good. Service left a lot to be desired. The woman who was our waiter was friendly and some might say too friendly. She sat in the lap of a man at the table next to us, then she sat in the lap of the women who was with the man, and then back in the man's lap. It is a neighborhood restaurant so maybe this is the vibe that the owner wants to create but we found it slightly strange for a restaurant where the prices are not at the local bar level. She serves us drinks, splashing the glass over the table. She served our white bottle of wine and then left on the table. Had to ask for an ice bucket. Didn't remove used glasses, etc. Again, food was great but service level didn't not match the effort from the kitchen staff. Kudos to the kitchen staff.
Navy Yard Bistro has a wonderful wine menu and the food is amazing. Love to sit outside!
We sat outside and watched the harbor. The ambiance was very pleasant and unique. The food was very good, with some interesting twists on a classical new American cuisine. Our waitress was sweet, prompt and knowledgeable, however, the hostess was amazingly rude, the antithesis of welcoming. Not the best first impression but the overall experience was great.
Host could be a bit more customer service focused. It unfortunately set the mood for the entire dinner.
Really really enjoyed our 2nd visit in as many weeks! Terrific service and a delicious dinner...
We had a pleasant dinner at the Bistro. Service was excellent. Food was delicious, and the price is very reasonable. We will definitely return. I think the outdoor dining will be really nice. The Navy Yard has its own different flair.
Our party was three couples, including some out-of-town guests. We had drinks, appetizers, and a variety of entrees, so had a chance to sample a number of menu items. Everything was delicious. However, our waiter might rethink a career in the hospitality industry.
When we ordered, we asked for three separate checks. I asked, "Can you handle that?" By the waiter's reaction, it seemed the question may have hit him the wrong way, so my wife clarified, "He means, can you accommodate that?", to which the waiter replied in a defensive tone, "I know what he means!" Then he said, "Yes".
The food was served hot and on time and we really enjoyed our meal. When it came time for the check, the waiter put the check on the table and said, "To be honest, I've lost track of everything you've had -- I threw the pages out - so, you'll have to do some math", and walked away. My wife called him back and said, "Wait a minute -- that's not okay", to which he replied, "What, you can't do a little math? I threw the pages away". We had no response. Then, in a huff, he impatiently barked at us, "Okay, tell me what you had". He wrote everything down and came back with 3 checks, for which we thanked him. One of the credit cards was missing and when we mentioned it to him, he quickly retrieved it.
Although the food was excellent, each of us agreed, the waiter's tone and attitude was gruff from the start and it unfortunately colored our experience. In the end, he accommodated us, but was unnecessarily unpleasant about it.
Blown away by our first experience. Food was delicious , staff were attentive and engaging. Had the feel of a local treasure and chatted to several regulars. We will definitely be back.
Food ok. Undermanaged
Very good food and atmosphere, will recommend to my friends when they visit Boston.
It is, as advertised, a bistro, with a small and intimate feel. The food is excellent, with both a great set of standards as well as specials, the service is attentive, the wine cellar is very good and moderately priced, and a neighborhood gem that welcomes those from outside of the Boston Navy Yard community. In short, we love it, we can walk to it, and we do all year round.
