Outstanding “tasting menu”
We chose tasting menu with wine pair. The presentation was par excellence. The service rendered by the staffs was great and they patiently explained all the dishes. Out of the entire course of menu, monkfish was outstanding
Great food, subtle and fine, it’s more than “an Indian restaurant “. We had the tasting menu, and loved all 7 dishes.
Navadhanya never disappoints - the lamb shank was especially superb !
The food was great but the service was not up to standard. We had to wait 15 minutes for our table although we had a booking; the place was so overcrowded and understaffed that waiters were slow to serve us everything. A waiter had an accident by our table, dropped a platter full of tomato sauce on my plaster cast leg and didn't apologise, off-handedly gave me some wet wipes to clean myself up and we didn't even get a discount or complimentary anything. Not sure I would go back
Lovely small indian place with some meals outstanding. A bit chaotic service.
The reality was woefully unlike the marketing pitch. There seemed to be confusion over our online booking on arrival (three members of staff huddled around the screen with question marks over their heads). Whole atmosphere was utilitarian - rather like a school refectory. Lighting was too bright (more like daylight). Food was nonetheless verging on excellent, but service was cold and abrupt. I have eaten Indian food around the globe, and I suggest you inject considerably more style (eg white linen tablecloths, and a warmer, more attentive service). We will not be back.
Delicious very high quality Indian food with friendly service. Reliable and consistent
Beautiful flavors from each dish, with a very attentive staff.
Exzellentes indisches Essen auf höchstem Niveau. Guter Service, volle Empfehlung meinerseits.
We went for a special dinner out and my goodness ... it really was special. Best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had in Cambridge, plus great service! Of course we ordered too much and couldn't eat it all. Next time we'll order a bit less and share it between us!
My guest was a friend from India and he was able to guide my choices from the menu and point out finer points in the cooking. He as an expert and I as a novice both thought it was a wonderful meal.
Always the absolute best Indian food and wine! Thank you!!
Amazing food, exceptional blends of tastes masterised by the chef to perfection
Very nice restaurant, we all had the 7 course sampling menu which was outstanding, the waiter explains what each dish is and there is plenty even for the bigger appetite like myself. very nice meal for a special occasion. Will definitely be visiting again.
We had a good booking and service and the food was amazing.we had the taster menu which were large portions which was good value for money. Not your normal Indian food.
Fantastic find! Two of us ordered the 7 course chefs tasting menu and really enjoyed every bite. The first four courses were my favorites because I had not had them before, creative and delicious! By the 5th course I was getting full but so good that I continued on, so good portion size for a tasting menu. Service was excellent!!! This is one of the better restaurants in Cambridge, I highly recommend it!
The food is top notch, simple the best Indian food I’ve had. The service is respectfully paced, friendly and professional. The ambience is ok with a low rumble of conversation and the sound of service. The decor however, especially the bar area need to be looked at. It’s all a bit cheap and needs to feel much more special at this price point. You go here for the food and the service, not the table or comfort.
The food was the star at Navadhanya - juicy prawns with two delicious sauces, mouthwatering sea bass, superb lamb shank - every dish was a flavourful delight. The service was somewhat slow (but worth it) and matter-of-fact - the odd smile would have gone down well. There was a baby crawling and making lots of noise, which I wouldn't have expected midway through a Friday night, but luckily we like children.
Food good but very noisey and i did not like having to sit upstairs felt like somebody's dinning room.
We were visiting the area so unfortunately won’t be able to return very often. One of the best Indian meals we have ever eaten!
The AC upstairs made the room very cold however and slightly diminished the experience.
Even after adjustment it was still very cold!
The tasting menu is great however course 6 is a bit too much and the weakest of the lot. I would modify it to a smaller nicer dish if possible
Everything was great, however, the waiters were very soft spoken and was hard to understand what they were describing. But everything was awesome
The food at Navadhanya is wonderful, they put an innovative spin on traditional foods. The Almond tikki and rose yogurt are both delicious. Monkfish is next level. Each course are beautifully presented and treat of flavours. Lovely staff. It was awesome and I can't wait to go back.
Me and my friend visited navadhanya we had a warm welcome in the reception from the manager or owner I am not sure who he was but he received us with great smile . We decided to go for alcarte we had lamb chops and monk fish for the starter both are delicious for the main we had prawn curry and lamb shank Oh my god!!! One of the best curry I ever had in my life . Service was excellent all the staff are very polite and friendly . I can proudly say it is my best Indian food I ever had .
Me and partner visited navadhanya we decided to go for tasting menu with wine flights . Each and every course was well presented , properly cooked , properly spiced . Wine pair was excellent . Each and every course and wine was explained properly . Service was excellent every one was very helpful and very friendly. Overall we had wonderful night out . Thanks to the team .
Had a bit of expectation with a Michelin recommendation, ended up quite disappointed. Ordered the rabbit leg for starter and prawn curry for main.
Rabbit leg was served with beetroot purée, coriander purée, and sauce separately on plate, and the rabbit inside was proper raw.
They gave me a paneer as a compensation, surprisingly it’s also with coriander and beetroot purée with the paneer which doesn’t really make sense to me in flavour wise. And it seems to me that they’re just using these garnishes on every starters. Paneer was greasy and hard to chew. Some whole grains of spices give you an electrical shock sometimes.
Finally I had the prawn curry for main, the base was incredibly bland, with some unchewable coconut chips on top. A couple of sneaky cardamoms hiding inside the basmati ready to surprise you. I think that’s how they named themselves “fine dining of Indian cuisine”
I wished I just went to some other indian restaurants to have some a lot better food with a half of the price.
Although billed as fine dining, our experience was far from it. The restaurant was definitely not what we were expecting. Putting style and atmosphere of the restaurant aside, the food was mediocre at best. The flavours were fighting with each other, almost destroying the subtlety of Indian cuisine. Service was poor, ignoring the fact that it's Michelin starred. I'd categorise this restaurant as a glorified curry house, unfortunately.
Great restuarant with pleasant surroundings and outstanding service
good indian food, we really had the feeling to disturb the personal, almost unfriendly welcome in a spartan restaurant
Un restaurant indien d’exception, largement au-dessus de la moyenne par la qualité et le raffinement de ses mets.
Nice food and amazing experience. Very nice lunch and sure we will repeat.
Great service and delicious food at a reasonable price. Recommended
Impressive food, particularly the first 3 courses blew me away. Loved all 7 courses on the tasting menu and was left stuffed after it. Would highly recommend and is amazing value for money.
Great for and great staff! Will be returning with the rest of work team soon!!
Visiting from the USA. Food was amazing as was the atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Would definitely go back if I get the chance.
Great as always . The lamb for starters is a must !
Quite simply the best Indian food in the area, and a contender for one of the best overall restaurants in Cambridge. They've mastered their craft and have consistantly delivered an excellent meal everytime I have been there.
By looking on their website it looked a beautiful restaurant, however as soon as I got to the door of the building I was hugely disappointed. It being 5* and mitchelin rated expected much better. Food was great don't get me wrong, service was ok, wasn't very welcoming. I did ask on my reservation if they could make our table special as we were celebrating my fiancé's 40th but nothing. Actual décor of restaurant was plain and boring, no ambience at all. My local indian where its £15 per head is far better service and value for money! Dissappointed and over priced!!
Very high quality.
Fabulous food and excellent service. Tablecloths and a bit more attention to decorative detail would improve the fine-dining experience. Would definitely go again
