I wish this restaurant had an à la carte menu to compliment their Sunday Brunch buffet. The offerings, though good quality and attentively curated for diverse palette, were nothing out of this world. I have seen bigger spreads at friends' homes when invited over for Sunday breakfast.
Service is friendly and relaxed, but could have been more attentive.
Skip brunch and go for the live Cuban music, overpriced cocktails and pool side views. Those alone are worth the price of admission.
This was my first time eating here, I recommend 100%.
The service was great, food delicious, ambiance beautiful.
Definitely going back.
Excellent food and service. Only problem is that if you do sit outside there can be people smoking who are seated by the outdoor pool at the hotel. I needed to move inside to finish my meal.
Miserabler Service.
We attended to the "Rosé Sunday Brunch" and it was really nice.
Nice atmosphere, Live band with good music, nice food buffet with good choice of Mediterranean salads, grilled salmon, meat, dessert, and a bottomless of French Rosé for 55++
Will definitely go back!
super gsi, milds fleisch, nette bedienumg, ein genuss.
For how expensive brunch was you would think the service would be better.
Went for brunch stayed for the afternoon DJ. The staff is great. The space is fantastic. Food and drinks are on point and the DJ, Miss Eddy Pink, was one of the best we've seen on South Beach. A great vibe. Guaranteed to have a fun afternoon! This is going to become our regular "Sunday Funday" spot.
We went here for Easter brunch yesterday and it was wonderful. They also had an Easter bunny and egg hunt for the children. Really lovely
Major let down. I see why Chef Alex left!
My husband and I were staying at the hotel and wanted a romantic meal after a long day- the host was charming and accommodated our request to move tables, but our waitress was scattered and kept dropping the ball. The restaurant is very pretty but was almost empty for dinner on a Sat- not a good sign. We ordered 6 appetizers/salads and asked her to pace them since we also ordered a bottle of champagne and wanted to enjoy ourselves. 20 mins later all 6 plates showed at once... we expressed our dissatisfaction and they took three back. Still it was too much going on at once, hot/cold/ceviches and mussels together. Threw off the meal pace and we never got back on track. She was nice but also not super responsible about messing up. Missing utensils, slow getting a new bottle of water. There were perhaps five other tables. Wouldn't go back. Next day it looked like a fun rowdy brunch spot, definitely more appropriate for an inexpensive casual meal than a $300 dinner. Disappointed
Very solid for Miami breakfast by the pool. Always expensive but no more than others. Service very accommodating!
Simple fresh dishes, well prepared and delicious
Menu seemed less interesting than it did when we first visited Driftwood. Waiter was nice-but seemed to be going through the motions. My entree was good- but was missing something. We made it a point of returning this trip as we enjoyed it so last year. Don't plan on retuning next trip as South Beach has so many excellent choices.
The service was terrible. 3 people serving us only one was helpful. They forgot our food The quality of food wasn't bad but the preparation was bad. I have never been to a restaurant where they have the silverware directly on the table and not on a napkin. It was put on a bare marble table. Marble being porous imagine the germs on the table. Very unappetizing.
Excellent meal in SoBe- we had the mussels appetizer which was very tasty- also the calamari was excellent. I had the filet au poivre- was very tasty but large ......I couldn't finish. My husband enjoyed the churrasco and yuca frita. Our son had the kids meal grilled cheeseburger and fries- perfect family dinner w selections for everyone . Great wine list to choose from. Service was great. Hip but laid back atmosphere - Highly recommend this restaurant!
Was there on my Birthday and it was really slow really quiet and a loud staff . Although the food was ok i wouldn't go there again.
First visit - pleasantly surprised. Food was bright and flavorfully innovative. Service was very good and attentive, although the room was not busy.
Best part about the restaurant was our waitress, Tonya. Very very nice and professional - helped us out with food options and was very knowledgeable.
Very good ambiance, service, food quality as well as innovation on the plates.
We had a very nice and delicious dinner in this quiet, romantic outdoor place!!!
I've been dying to try Alex Guarnaschelli's new hot spot, and it did not disappoint. Everything that I tasted was delicious, starting off with Moroccan mussels, and rounding the meal out with the most sublime passion fruit donuts!! Can't wait to go back.
Service was not good, it was practically empty and the waitress was never available. We asked for four drinks at the end of the night and it took 25 minutes to get 4 shots. It is too bad that the service was so horrible as the food was decent.
Well executed food with a very slow kitchen in a good outdoor hotel location on the Ocean strip. If this were a neighborhood restaurant with a quick kitchen, I would give 4 stars. Waiter was well trained and attentive. Food was well executed but with a limited menu. These hotel based restaurants generally are higher priced destinations SoBe. You really can't walk there unless you are staying at one of the big tourist hotels. You not only pay for parking but have to wait for valet. It's more of a casual poolside restaurant with good food that should have been South of Fifth.
Great food, very simple but everything was perfect.
We started with the Calamari - it was delicious. At our table we had the branzini, lobster, and shrimp. The lobster was SO good - we actually ordered another one. For dessert we had the passion fruit donuts - WOW. Our server was fabulous (I don't remember his name). He found out I was a huge Alex Guarnaschelli fan, so he brought out the chef to meet us, which is her right hand man - so sweet! Fabulous meal and experience.
Fish crudo appetizer excellent
Brussels sprouts side dish yummy
And they know how to serve a good English tea!!
As a hotel guest it was a very convenient way to eat in. The outdoor seating has a nice ambiance and on a Wednesday night around 8:30 there were only about 4 other parties dining, so a good choice when you aren't seeking a scene.
I was looking forward to trying the Driftwood Room and was not disappointed! We started with oysters which were incredibly fresh as well as mushroom crostini which was also excellent. For the main course I kept it simple with a burger which as well prepared and tasty along with fries that were excellent. We finished with passion fruit doughnuts which were to die for! The service from David was excellent and Alex herself came by even though she'd had a long weekend with the South Beach Wine and Food Festival.
New restaurant, so still quiet. Food is served super quickly.
Inside and outside sitting.
Cocktails are super good!! Starters too, namely the provoletta and lamb kabobs! The seafood fritatta is also tasty, but deep fried.
Entrees: there are a few options only, but the food is well prepared! Loved the brussels sprouts side!
Dessert: the hazelnut and chocolate cake is a good one.
I had the baked provolone, cold water lobster, and passion fruit doughnuts. All delicious. Perfect date spot.
