Nargis Bar & Grill
A chef/owner was born and raised in Uzbekistan & ready to share a great food and wonderful experience with you and your friends and family.
Great mix of grilled meats and interesting vegetable dishes. Definitely get the Non bread, which is puffy like pizza dough, not flat like Indian naan. The garden is delightful in nice weather.
Great dining experience. With the original menu back, the Uzbek meals (Plov, Skewers...) were delicious. There were 4 of us, and everyone really enjoyed their meal.
Will definitely be back!
Nargis is a relaxed friendly place with excellent interesting food and easy to share - or not. either way is good
Great food and service, beautiful setting, and low noise level. A place where you can actually eat and have discussions with your friends!
This is a wonderful place to spend an evening with friends. Delicious food, terrific service and a bargain to boot.
Great food and service, but inexplicably expensive.
Some of the best lamb I’ve eaten, especially in the Plov. And don’t miss the tongue salad. Sounds strange but is absolutely delicious.
This was our 3rd time at Nargis Park Slope and took friends with us. Disappointed with change in menu. Much more fun when could order various skewers and all share different dishes. In past, waiter was helpful in assisting with what to order. This time waiter seemed rushed and not all that helpful or attentive. I asked if I ordered Bronzino if it could be filleted-- He was emphatic that it could not. ( Prior visit, the waiter did fillet the fish for me). Food was still very tasty-- the Mezze appetizer plate and herring-- very delicious. Would not return to this Nargis again.
We went Our good friends came from NJ, and we decided to meet at Nargis for brunch. A not good representation of Park Slope. The food was mediocre, the lulya kebab was dry and felt as it warmed up from yesterday. Our waiter was inattentive and arrogant. I heard him loudly commanding the other waiters, discussing which table to clean first and where to go. I am very disappointed, will not to go there again.
Was seated at 7 on a Sat. eve. The waiter seemed a bit annoyed that I asked him to repeat the specials more slowly and directed toward other people in our group to compensate for the noise. Service was a bit rushed in the beginning as our main dishes arrived at the same time as the appetizer. The food was very good but the width of table made it necessary to speak loudly for someone on the opposite side to hear. Nicely decorated. Would not recommend if you want quiet conversation. Good for sharing dishes. Nice selection of interesting cocktails.
We used to come here more often, but they've changed their menu significantly this year to accommodate less adventurous palates (read: no more chicken hearts or kompot), but the food remains excellent. I really hope they keep the tashkent beef tongue salad on their menu, it's one of our favorites. The kebab skewers are also top notch, including the lamb, beef, chicken wings, and lamb chops. It's a little on the pricey side, though nothing out of touch with the surrounding park slope vibe. Most recently, they served a good Napoleon to satisfy the sweet tooth. Four stars.
The food here is super fresh and tasty. The staff friendly & efficient. The decor is charming. We enjoyed cocktails & appetizers before the main course (kabobs, oxtails all cooked to perfection). It is such a pleasure to eat in a restaurant where you can enjoy a dinner conversation. We had such a lovely time we stayed for desert - which was delicious.
Loved the place. The food is incredible and staff wonderful. Try the rum!!! The music was loud but the staff was very responsive in turning it down.
What a wonderful place. The food, the ambience, the service, the amazing homemade rum. I go back there again and again.
The kebabs were excellent. The vegetables that came with it were spot on. Excellent service.
This was the worst restaurant experience I have had...ever.
The service is shoddy. The food is not that great for the attitude given. They double charged my card and then would not return my calls to fix the situation. I would not recommend nor will I ever return.
Phenomenal food and service! I would recommend Nargi's to anyone!
Our party of 5 loved this place! Will definitely return!
This is not an Uzbek ethnic restaurant anymore. I used to love this place, however right now the entire menu has changed. They surged burgers, Mac&cheese and other things for dinner and traditional brunch items including Omelets, pancakes with maple syrup and avocado toasts. This is not what it used to be.
Fantastic, as always! Nargis is my absolute favorite restaurant for a group dinner. Delicious food, good service!
Really good food and great service. One of the better places in Park Slope.
It used to be so much better when they hard more Uzbek food - that's why I went in the first place. Now they changed the menu. I didn't go to an Uzbek place to order ramen!
As a family of 5, we have enjoyed Nargis in Coney Island, Nargis in Park Slope and now Brooklyn Eatery- all wonderful! Great service, delicious cuisine.
Nargis Bar & Grill has changed since it opened and no longer offers a full menu of Uzbekistan dishes. There are only a handful of Uzbek items on the menu, and the rest of the menu has been gentrified (e.g. mac and cheese, poke bowl). The service was also lacking - it took several tries to flag a waiter to refill our water and tea, and once we made the request it took a while for the refills to come. Note that the restaurant was pretty loud.
I was disappointed because they changed their Central Asian menu substantially. While the service and atmosphere are still excellent, I missed their liver, lamp chop kabobs and the wide range of salads etc. It was our favorite neighborhood Park Slope restaurant.
They’ve changed their menu! No more kabobs. It’s only half Uzbek now. They trendified it. $16 for a baked beets entree that was one half a beet cut up and not sufficiently cooked (the food was terrible and there wasn’t enough of it). why? Why? Why? Please go back. We don’t need poke or hamburgers!!! We need kabobs!!!!!
The traditional Uzbek dishes are great! You can’t go wrong with them.
We won't go there again. They drastically changed the menu. All the dishes we (and many others) loved are gone.
Great food and value. Service a bit slow.
love this place, food is always delicious, comes out quickly and the portions are generous. definitely filled a void in the "park slope food scene" but also worth the trip from other neighborhoods. The Manti (dumplings), the spring salad (yum, the dill dressing is insanely delicious and fresh tasting) all the skewers are perfectly cooked - such a favorite!
There were 4 of us, one appetizer took some time to prepare, 3 dinners were served before the 4th parties appetizer arrived... It was not a well synchronized meal for the 4 of us...
Such a good experience, nice setting, fantastic food and great service. Must soon come back and try other dishes as well. Skip the usual standard places and try something new was the goal for tonight and this was a very good choice.
Brunch date. Amazing delicious beautifully presented food! Chef Jermey has it going on here!
We love this place. Great hearty food! Liver kebabs are excellent! Also fab are tongue salad and pumpkin dumplings.
Great meal beginning to end and the best lamb kebabs we have every had.
Food is delicious, "home style", fresh....Atmosphere is welcoming and price is reasonable.
I love that you can look into the clean, stainless steel kitchen.
Everyone is friendly and the restaurant is cozy.
Fantastic food, great service and an authentic vibe. Our reservation was for a Saturday night and we were driving in from CT. Traffic made us run late, but we called and they were accommodating. When we arrived, the hostess quickly sat us at a great seat and got food/drinks flowing. We had an event that night to get to so we were rushed for time - but with exceptional service and waitstaff, everything came out on time and we made it to our event.
We had 3 in our party, so we shared some dishes. For drinks, we had the green hot tea and Tarhun. Both were amazing. For food, we started off with the 'Manti with Meet' - it was exceptional.
We then had the Uzbek Plov, Lamb Chop kebab & the Lulya kebab. Those dishes were so full of flavor and so moist and delicious. We also had the house fries and the french fries. Both sides exceed our expectations.
The design and chandeliers were beautiful and really cool looking. We can't wait to go back!!!
If you are in the area - do yourself the favor and go! You won't be disappointed.
Best restaurant in the neighborhood!!! The food in unique and delicious, the staff is always gracious and welcoming ,beautiful decor
Nargis is a lovely space with beautiful lighting fixtures. The menu is large and offers a range of choices from excellent appetizers to entrees. It has never disappointed.
