Went for brunch. The food was absolutely flavorless. Like the chef has never heard of seasoning. Terrible. Room is nice enough and service was totally adequate. But everything we ate was beyond bland.
Decided to try after reading reviews and an article online from the Thrillist. Narcissa did not disappoint! W started at the car with cocktails. Only one bar tender was working for the whole place so the service was a little slow. I could tell the bartender was a little stressed...or at least it appeared that she was. Once we were seated at are seat the service was impeccable and welcoming which I always appreciate. For appetizers we had the grilled octopus and the smoked Japanese fries. The octopus was good but slightly small relative to other restaurants my husband has tried this dish. The smoked Japanese sweet potato was great! We chose the red snapper and the chicken with grapes (lettuce wraps) for our entrees. The red snapper was delicious. The chicken was okay but something was missing and not sure the lettuce wrap part worked. Dessert we had a little chocolate pie (very small) with brulee bananas and vanilla bean ice cream. Very tasty and since it was so small not too much guilt involved. The scene is vibrant and fun. After dinner we went to a cross-dresser show next door and then to the other bar next door where there was a DJ. It was a super fun night.
Narcisa is a truly wonderful restaurant on all fronts. It is elegant, warm, and comfortable, and the food is simply outstanding. We loved the chicken with warm grapes, which sounds weird and then turns out to be delicious, and the smoked sweet potato appetizer was spectacular. Narcisa is one of our favorite NYC restaurants.
Service was impeccable and not at all intrusive. It was a date / working dinner and we felt so comfortable.
I love this restaurant! One of the checklist options were “worth the drive “. Not only worth the drive, but worth the flight! We are from LA and make it a point to always dine at Narcissa at least once during our trip.
I’m vegan so we ordered a lot of vegan modified dishes but everyone at my table loved everything we ordered. Our server was courteous and attentive. Food came out in a timely manner. Hosts were delightful. Food was fabulous!
It was a nice way to celebrate friends' birthdays! Still, I had not expected how noisy it would be, and it took a while for the food to start reaching the table. The service was great otherwise.
The food was lovely and creative, although portions are on the small side. Service was great. However, there was an obnoxiously loud group of six sitting next to us who were practically screaming over each other, and the restaurant has done nothing to address the issue.
food was good and atmosphere was okay. The hotel is really cool. I just wish the restaurant was a bit more modern.
Not what I was expecting, but in a good way. Food was excellent. Kitchen clearly takes pride in using the best ingredients. The burrata was amazing. Clientele was younger and hipper than my 15-year old daughter and I, but no one seemed to mind. :)
It was very good. Only two complaints- the porchetta is too fatty, and the music is a bit loud and not very good.
But I will go again. Overall we enjoyed it.
Sunday Brunch was popular-most tables were occupied. We both ordered Crab Soft Scramble. We asked for bread we were served 1 slice of white toast ($3).
There was a scant tsp of crab in the scramble; @ $22, we expected more crab. After complaining to our server, she graciously comped our drinks. Also, a hostess/ mgr apologized and asked if we would like an order of french toast which we declined. We thought their response most refreshing and we will try them again in warm weather. The garden looked inviting.
Excellent food and service. Consistently great
The food and service were fantastic. Must-tries are the French toast bites with lemon curd dip and the crab soft scramble. Just to die for!
Food is incredible. Highly recommend.
Outstanding food . The wine selection was somewhat limited and overpriced. Overall good experience.
We chose Narcissa before a performance at the Public Theatre--a 5 minute walk away. We each had the vegetarian entrée--a roasted squash dish for one of us, and the house-made pasta mushroom for the other. Both were excellent, as were salads, wine, and dessert. We highly recommend this. The only thing to know is that they don't seem to have a street-facing entrance; you have to enter the door next door and be shown your way into Narcissa. Once inside, it is lovely.
It was our first time there. We could not have asked for better service. The waiters and waitresses were exceptional in explaining their cocktails and menus.
We were a party of 3 but each small bite dish came with 2 pieces only.
A lovely evening. The food, especially the specials were divine.
white windows with Christmas tresses an decorations
hen of wood mushrooms yummy
crabmeat salad with aioli sauce perfection
good wines by glass
We needed to make theater and everyone was so accommodating! The food was delicious and the staff was caring and kind. We really lived Narcissa!
It was a very poor experience for a Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was taste less.
Very nice front person to accommodate my request for a table not banquet. Wait staff very attentive. Food was
Good- noise level deafening
Had a wonderful experience, my wife and I decided to spend our anniversary dinner here and it was well worth it. Would definitely recommend as the food was delicious and the service was amazing.
Great experience at Narcissa the food was delicious and the service was great. I took my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday and they customized the desert for her. I would definitely recommend!
I ordered bronzing. It came drenched in sauce that completely covered the fish. If I had known, I would have ordered it on the side. My impression was that thecentrees were gimmicky. Small bunch of grapes on chicken;,vegan affogatp, etc.
The food was generally very good other than a few dishes that were really off. The service was spotty. The waiter would disappear for long intervals.
The service was outstanding throughout. The dinner started off excellent. The appetizers were delicious but the prawns with bread was disappointing. It was two tiny little prawns and a half load of bread for $29 and the ribs were very fatty and included nothing else but the ribs. Dinner was just over $200 for two people and we both left hungry.
Poor service, warm coffee, highly expensive not great food.
Really loved the bruch. The french toast was heavenly, best ever!
We had a reservation for 4 people made well in advance for Sunday brunch.
We were seated at a table closest to the kitchen.
I suppose we were either too old, not hip enough and only women.
The food and service were fine, however the choice to seat a table of older women as far from the window as possible was obvious.
I will think twice before returning
Narcissa is an oasis amid the hustle and bustle of the City, offering a most delightful outdoor dining experience at any time of day—and most times of year. A quirky artsiness throughout the restaurant and broader hotel contribute tastefully to the uniquely enjoyable experience.
The food and service complement the setting, with an array of creative options for any dietary preference, including a variety of plant-based dishes. And the servers are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.
My only drawback was an absence of outdoor music, but that quickly subsided when they opened the doors to a lively private dining room.
I have been to this restuarant a number of times and love it. Great outdoor seating, great ambiance. I was a bit disappointed by the new menu and the food. Too much vinegar flavor in my beef tartare and salad. Not the usual variety sauces/preparations on the menu. That said, excellent food quality, service and evening.
Highlights were mushroom pasta, Parker house roll and cocktail
Impeccable service and beautiful flavorful food in a trendy atmosphere.
Really warm and wonderful vibe. Came for my mom’s birthday and enjoyed a delicious brunch! Will definitely come again on a date or with my girls.
Waiter was rude and did not pour real glasses of wine
Service was terrible, they messed up several items on our order. The waiter was rude.
Got busier around 7 but would suggest waiting to dine until then for any ambiance
Food, ambiance (outside garden) and service, including sommelier excellent.
