Napolese Pizzeria - Downtown
Great evening overall. Our wait staff was excellent as well as the food. Arugula salad with strawberries was fantastic. We had the Meridian Kessler pizza (if I remember the name right). It was good but definitely could have used a bit more sausage. If I didn’t know it was supposed to have sausage on it, I wouldn’t have known it was there. The only other negative; there was no dedicated valet service.
Wow! Traveled to Indy for a concert and booked a table at Napolese. My wife has a Glutten intolerance and when we arrived we were very please to see that they offered GF Pizza. What really struck us as odd was that they offered a GF Baked Goat Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Focaccia. Not ever seeing this anywhere else we tried it and it was outstanding! Two thumbs up for Napolese and their catering to the GF people of this world!
I had a business meeting and everyone loved the food and they plan to bring their families someday soon.
Napolese left a great impression with their outstanding service and food.
Great experience here at Napolese. We began our day at their sister restaurant Cafe Patachaou which was a great experience with options for all dietary restrictions and ages. Then we decided to go to Napolese for dinner and it was one of the best meals and experiences I've had in a while! All farm-to-table/local ingredients. The salads were very fresh and abundant for the price. They also had great cocktails. And the pizza oven they had curated the best gluten free pizza I've ever had! Would strongly recommend this restaurant.
Gluten free pizza was below average, but everything else was great, we’ll be back, but will avoid the gluten free pizza.
Food was good, service was slow and the prices were pretty high for what the food was. It was ok - probably a better lunch place than dinner.
I continue to be a fan of Napolese. We had a group of 4 and everyone enjoyed their food. For a party of 4, the table was pretty tight. But, our server was good and helped to make it work.
For Indy, this is still an interesting take on pizza. It does feel a little stuck, though. I kind of think similar places in bigger cities have moved forward in a way that Napolese hasn't. Not 100% sure what I'd recommend in terms of updates but I hope they infuse a bit more of the Patachou creativity into their menu in the coming year or so.
We love this place, really good pizza, perfect dinner and drinks kind of place
The service was not very good compared to past times. The server took awhile to even get to us, and didn’t get us the usual olives. The kale salad was not massaged at all, so it was very dry. Overall, very disappointed.
Napolese is one of our favorite places for pizza . The food is so fresh and They have a great wine list.
Very noisy, but I love the look of the place. I appreciate that they offer gluten free options, as I have Celiac.
Amazing pizza and unique starters. We shared a pizza with pancetta, red potatoes and Gorgonzola. A combination that really worked well. It was outstanding. Our roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer was perfectly prepared and delicious. We also enjoyed the Napolese Old Fashioned. Service was perfect, attentive and non intrusive. Can’t wait to go back.
A good date place when you don't feel like anything too fancy but still want high quality.
Napolese is one of my favorite restaurants! The pizza is delicious and the salads are really good too! And I got a dessert pizza which was also incredible! Not to mention the wine - great wines too. Our server was awesome and overall we loved our dinner. Would definitely recommend and will he going back for sure!
We enjoyed Napolese Pizza for the first time. We were visiting from out of town. Great service and yummy pizza. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the area more.
Ah, from the meatballs to the wonderfully fresh pear and radish salad to, of course, the delicious pizzas, we ate too much but left completely happy and satisfied. The Napolese Boulevardier cocktail was a perfect nightcap as well.
Excellent service and meal, enjoyed the goat cheese appetizer, the double chopped salad was good and love the Hamaker pizza!
Josh K. was our server and he did a fantastic job!
Great food and service. Best devour menu in Indy.
Matt the Manager was amazing. And our server Cody made great suggestions and was very helpful. Perfect Team!!
Children are not allowed in the bar area. Hostess was rude about it. The salads were the best. Tried four pizzas including the undercooked desert pizza. The meal pizzas were good, nothing outstanding.
The pizza and salads are large, generous, and delicious!
Great food but the super loud music destroys the atmosphere it could have to actually enjoy their food! That’s sad!
Great food, great service!
Martha Hoover would be ashamed! Second bad experience and we won't try a third time!
I've loved all of Martha Hoover's restaurants around Indianapolis. We went to Napolese a couple of months ago on a Saturday night - we had a reservation for 4. The service was so slow we almost left. The waiter finally took our order and it took forever. When we got our pizzas, they were wrong but we were afraid to wait for replacements so we chalked it up to a bad night. Then in December, we decided to try again. With another reservation for a party of 10. We waited 30 minutes for drinks! We asked what was taking so long and heard multiple times, they would be right out. It wasn't even a busy night. We couldn't believe it. Actually, we waited 30 minutes for two bottles of wine. The cocktails took even longer. The pizzas were so substandard, it was like the chef's first time in the kitchen, hardly any toppings, some under cooked and some dry and dark brown. The only thing that didn't make us sad was the chopped salad. I 'get' a bad night, but twice? And the server wasn't even apologetic. He was just apathetic. We won't go back and I'd say, with all the other amazing restaurants in downtown Indianapolis, go where they earn your money and your loyalty. I wish we'd gone to Bazbeaux!
Had walked by Napolese a few times when downtown and finally had the chance to try it with my family. We loved everything we ate. We split the meatball appetizer to start and it was wonderful with lots of marinara. Then we all had a half salad (not on the menu that I saw but available) if you're also ordering pizza. The chopped salad was delicious with lots of meat in it. We all ended up with individual pizzas that we could only eat half of, but everyone commented how good theirs was. Didn't have room for dessert, but we'll save that for next time since we'll definitely be back. For the quality of food, I thought the pricing was very reasonable as well.
We were met at the door and quickly seated.
Excellent food. Great pizza. Great service and easy to get to!
Third visit and still the same slow, average service. This time, there was a group of six early on a Friday night. One in our group never got the drink he ordered. We waited 30 minutes for our plates to be cleared. Food is good, but not worth it to spend almost two hours to have pizza.
Great place... great service...we will return soon!
We went there with our 3 kids before taking them to the winter lights at Newfields. We had reservations and although it was pretty empty when we got there’s, our waiter said all the other tables were reserved so I definitely recommend reservations. The pizza was great and they do have kids pizzas.
Pizzas and the chop salads were really, really great. Outstanding pizza with a thin crust and char.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. The service was fast and the atmosphere was so fun.
Great choice for a really good pizza and a local beer. In town for the Indy Monumental Marathon the next morning, so picky about what I eat the night before. Sat at the bar and had some great recommendations from Allen. Pizza was so good, I ordered one to go for later.
Really cool place with great food. Excellent service.
Have dined there many times and it’s always been great but our servicer was a little slow and inattentive. Surprising. Still enjoyed and will return!
I had high expectations from this restaurant as the pizza menu looked good.
I was really hoping to find an 'almost' traditional Italian pizza in Indianapolis, between the many other American variations, but sadly it wasn't what I was expecting.
What I liked: good service, nice and clean restaurant, good food/drink selection, decent pizza dough.
What I didn't like: we ordered a couple of pizzas and both were very plain and with little flavor. The buffalo mozzarella was just a plain mozzarella cheese, prosciutto was tasteless, very little tomato sauce.
If they just improve the ingredients selection, the pizza would be great!
Our server Alan made our experience even better than usual!
Pizza was delicious. They were very accommodating when we asked to make some modifications and additions to the salad.
Fantastic fresh pizza. We look forward to coming back!
