Naples 45 Ristorante E Pizzeria Ratings and Reviews
This place was great as usual however it was very HOT. I told the staff and they new. They said it's the building that controls the heat. Sorry - you are paying rent and it's your place so control the heat. Otherwise great staff and food. I have to re-think if I'm coming back until AC season. way to stuffy. I saw many paeople rolling up sleeves and making gestures. Not acceptable if you are dropping $ for a nice business lunch..
The pizza is excellent as was our dessert. The service was particularly good. When we both ordered the same dessert, our waitress suggested that we share as the portion is pretty large. She was right, saving us some money and calories and gaining extra goodwill for the restaurant.
The food was not good and it was overpriced for what it was. My guest had pizza that he said was "ok." My salad was terrible. It was supposed to be a chicken with greens salad with avocado, pine nuts, apples, and tomatoes. It was about 90% lettuce (and not good lettuce). It was all chopped so fine, that it was hard to pick up. There were no pine nuts, almost no avocado, apple, or tomato; there was a bit more chicken than anything else (except lettuce), but not much and again so small it was impossible to eat with a fork. Very unsatisfying and overpriced. The cappuccino was good.
Very large pizzeria with outdoor seating, a Thursday dinner at 8pm I found a lot of people having drinks after work and it was quite busy. Outdoor seating is rather nice as you aren't right on the sidewalk but a few steps up so you can people watch the crowds passing....obviously a bit of noise, but I noticed inside is so large voices echo so it isn't much quieter there. The appitizer of calamari was crispy and tasty, the pizza margherita with nduja (spicy calabrese spread) was delicious, aside from the "type of" mozzarella used. The pizza was well cooked but the mozzarella solidified quickly. The staff was ok...one friendlier than the several others who passes, but service for drinks is slow.
Food and service were fine. Dining area was spacious and comfortable. Just one problem: acoustics. Sound bounced off the walls. It is very hard to have a business conversation inside. Next time, I will dine in the outdoor area which was quieter than indoors despite it's location on busy 45th St.
Second time I've been there, and on the whole, I'd say pretty good but not great. It is very, very, noisy inside, and I could never endorse Naples 45 for a business lunch. Though there's noise from trucks and other street noise in their outside seating area, consider eating outside (weather permitting, of course) if you need to discuss anything where what is said to you will need to be heard. The woman seating us frowned when, just before she seated us inside, I asked to be seated outside because of the interior noise, but ultimately she did so, though without uttering another word. This place tries very hard to be trendy; they'll give you butter for your bread instead of olive oil if, but only if, you request, and the bread is merely adequate. The service was a little sluggish, but to be fair, hardly the worst I've ever encountered. My entree (a "Paccheri Napoletani," a pasta dish for $20 or so, for lunch )was pretty good but not better than that, and the portion size was small and the dish was pricey. I will probably go back, but not for a business meal, and my recommendation is a lukewarm one.
The food was not great, but good. Much too noisy but certainly alright. I was disappointed in my portion of pasta that I had, mainly because it was good and I could have gone for a bit more. But all in all it was an enjoyable meal. Our waitress was quite attentive to our needs.
We went out with a few girls from the office to celebrate a birthday. We were able to sit outside which was terrific and the menu is extensive and the food very good. Our waiter could have been a little friendlier. I think when he realized our bill wasn't going to be a few hundred bucks, he gave us the bare minimum service. I would try it again though.
