Great service and food! Our waiter was very attentive and offered recommendations. The lead and the manager both came to our table to ask if everything was OK and ask if we needed anything. The manager brought my friend a generous splash of wine to add to her wine glass, which was unexpected and a nice touch. We were dining before going to the Geffen Playhouse and did not have time for the complimentary dessert offered to diners going to the theater. The manager invited us to stop by after the play for our free dessert and gave us his business card so there would be no problem getting dessert. Will definitely return.
The staff are very friendly, courteous and attentive, and they took great care of our group!

Our food was excellent (both the salad which was interesting and the branzino perfectly cooked). However, our server was MIA from the beginning to the end. She took our order, we waited almost 20 minutes for the salad... 30 minutes for our main course and had to get up and swipe a fork from another table to eat. When my branzino finally arrived, there were no lemons which I had originally requested...by the time they brought the lemons, the fish was barely warm. We were comped the entire dinner by the manager. I will return to NVG, just never use this server!!!!

nice ambiance but food preparation needs a lot of improvement. Had to send rack of lamb back twice (ordered medium rare, came out well done. Second time they brought it out was basically uncooked and not even warm. Initially thought it was a joke but had to send it back again). I expected more from a $48 dollar entree as far as the execution and preparation.

We had a fantastic and totally unexpected wonderful time at brunch Saturday, September 7th. And we want to thank all the people who work at NAPA Valley Grille who helped make our very special occasion with dear friends truly special on a very busy weekend day with multiple celebrations taking place throughout the restaurant, throughout the time that we spent there. We’ll all look forward to going back.

I've been to this restaurant before, but not for dinner. While the table we had was comfortable and the service was very nice (with an attentive server), I found the food very over-priced for what they were serving and also for the food presentation. Not sure I'll be back again.
Appreciate your comments. And so happy you like the folks here and our restaurant as a whole. We are not cheap, that is true. We use the best ingredients and we are what is called casual fine dining so you will pay here. Also let us not forget for us and every restaurant in LA, we just gave our staff an incredible raise ($14.25/hr) and that of course is something that bears in our pricing as well. We were ignored by our waiter. When he disappeared for about 20 minutes, my dining companion called out asking for any waiter to help provide us with service. He only reappeared to give us our check. By the way, it was a birthday celebration and The waiter did nothing except provide good wishes together with the bill for service. The manager came out later with a piece of cake… Normally, this is a better quality venue in this neighborhood, but tonight it was abysmal.
We originally told our waiter that we had to leave promptly in one hour. We were kept waiting well beyond that time and that was the manager who brought out the cake. I hope the management cc comments and reprimands accordingly the negligent waiter.

Napa Valley Grille has the best ahi salad. It comes with olives, baby tomatoes blue and white baby potatoes and, of course, ahi with the most delicious salad dressing.
The staff are wonderful, especially Tara and the Manager, Brian.
I drive all the way from the South Bay most Saturdays to have lunch with a friend, eventhough the drive is 45 minutes.
It is surely worth the drive.
And Maxime is a very special lady. She is part of our community and a delight to see every Saturday. Thanks again Maxime for your wonderful words and support. See you this weekend!! Brian
Second time at Napa Valley. Service is friendly but we have been seated next to the server station both times - despite both times other better tables near the windows open and a relatively empty restaurant for a Friday. We asked to me moved this time which they accommodated but we were professionally attired so I’m unclear if they don’t prefer use of Open Table or of we’ve been unlucky both times. Food was mixed as my husband enjoyed his entree and I had the prawns which were swimming in oil and relatively inedible. I love the location convenience and atmosphere but can’t recommend for other Open Table diners as the Starlight across 5r street has better food and great service.

we started to leave after sitting down because they were only serving “brunch” at 1pm last Saturday, and my daughter has celiac - on the way out the manager stopped me and asked if everything was OK - he then offered gluten free pasta and gluten free bread to my daughter - we stayed and the food and service was excellent - please thank the manager for me. The food quality was good, choices a little limited, service has been rather poor, the manager was kind enough to try to rectify the problems, but in this kind of restaurant shouldn’t happen.

The service was excellent as were the tuna main course, brussels sprouts and Caesar salad. Also the flourless chocolate cake and the strawberry pot de creme were delicious!

Used to like this place, but very poor meal two nights ago. Food terrible. Pork Chop dry and hard to cut. Salads bland and unattractive. Flat bread that used to be good, also now bland and unappealing.

Very poor service, waiter was either new or very distracted and often left us for long periods of time.
Overall the restaurant is nice and elegant.
Hi, Hope that you let our management know of your service issue when you were here. It helps keep us on track. Typical response by the way from guests on this forum and on Yelp as well is that they didn't say anything because they didn't want to feel uncomfortable complaining. Never an issue for us though. We can take it. Besides it doesn't stop folks from coming here to complain and that doesn't offer us the chance to solve an issue or make things right. Thanks for the time, Brian
Although this restaurant is a little pricey, The food and service are very good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. One of my dinner companions thought her steak wasn't cooked properly, and it was replaced without a problem. The manager even came over to make sure everything was Ok, which it was.

We were incredibly surprised by how good the food was. Service was initially slow and server needed some training on the wine menu and how to talk about the food preparation. Outside of that it was a lovely meal and we will be back the next trip.

We both ordered the ahi salad and it was delicious.
Tara, our server, was attentive without being obtrusive. She certainly added an extra warm and fuzzy feeling to our lunch.

Great , attentive service and the food did not disappoint! My father ordered his favorite entree, the Berkshire pork chop- portion is generous so skip lunch!

We were going to see a show at the Geffen and this location was convenient so I reserved using Open table. Nowhere did it say they ONLY serve the brunch menu on Sundays (we wanted the lunch menu). Service couldn’t be nicer and the food was ok. The chicken and waffles was wanting in the chicken department...very little meat/mostly crunch batter.
Loved having you here! Sorry that you weren't expecting a brunch menu. Opentable does have links to our menus. And yes, we do brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11-3. That being said there are 9 items on the menu that are lunch items that include sandwiches and salads and even the salads can have proteins like fish, meat or chicken. We also give our guests the option to turn the Steak and Eggs into a Steak Frites. Appreciate the opportunity to clarify our brunch. Brian

Has been a favorite pre-theater (Geffen) place for years. The food was great and the service, was friendly and attentive, including a small treat from the kitchen. Can't wait to go back and have the kale salad and scallops again!

They have the best kale salad in town. Get it with the salmon.

Our meal was disappointing! The soup came missing key ingredients. The Kale Salad and an entry were just not good. This judgement is both against an absolute standard, but also based on comparisons with what we have previously experienced at this restaurant. We have had excellent dishes here before and this night they were just not up to par. The manager came to our table and was most gracious in adjusting our bill. I would hope this experience is the exception and does not become the norm. As I said, we have had excellent meals at this restaurant in the past.

this is a very comfortable environment and the service was quite good. But the food for all 3 of us was average at best. Nothing wrong with average but not better than average for sure.

Many of us had heir smoked tomato soup which was very good. Those who had Branzino also fel it was very good. My sonmhad the catch of the day which was dry. The bread pudding was very good.
