No complaint with the service the food is another story. The menu is really quite limited and the quality is just editable. I had the pasta with shrimp and it could not have been less interesting with a bland taste. My friend had the Branzino, it was small and oily. The server was however very pleasant.
The entrees of my colleague and I had too much sauce. She had the lobster sandwich, and I had the chicken curry.
Consistently good food and good service, with delicious menu items for array of diners. Often a nice place for a quiet corner for talking with friends and family but was quite energetic this weekend which is fun too (unless you planned on the quiet corner for talking). :) My #1 choice in Westwood!
Great wine and food. Pricey but worth it.
Good atmosphere, great food, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I will definitely go back next time I'm in the Westwood area.
Napa Valley Grille is an excellent choice for business related lunches in the Westwood area. However, the music is always extremely loud. It can be very difficult to have a conversation without almost shouting with my guests. And, for those with hearing impairments, its almost ridiculously loud.
Old high school friends meeting for lunch
I've eaten here before and in fact threw a private party here. Tonight's meal included poor but friendly service, delayed delivery of food that needed to e redone and a seat near cold window. I think food is good but a bit highly priced.
Tara our server was even better that before. She remembered that I have had gum surgery the week before and reminded me not to have almonds in my kale salad.
Her smile in contageous and the atmosphere is so pleasant with her serving us.
We were there on a Friday night at 7 pm. FYI - if you make on-line reservations make sure to ask for a table location. Otherwise, you may get stuck with the least desirable table location. That's what almost happened to us but we were able to change to a much better table. We had to wait for it though. The food is fine as is the atmosphere. But the service was very slow. Basic things like getting bread or drinks took forever. No one came by to check on us either which could have avoiding some of these issues. Overall, I would go again.
Excellent service
Two of us ordered the scallops and we were very disappointed in the small size of 3 scallops that made the meal especially given the price. At $10 per scallop, definitely not worth the money.
Food good. Servers seem to rush out of kitchen and just put the items anywhere, not even asking who the entree belongs to. Follow up was minimal-- had to look around for waiter. Accommodating when required. So, the experience could have felt more upscale if there was coordination between servers, writers, etc.
Excellent service but the food was bland
Comfortable table, nice menu. The braised pork special was delicious even with the modification we requested for our Keto diet. Our server was really nice. One suggestion: add grilled cheese to the kids menu ;)
I used to love this restaurant, but it's well past its prime. I will not be returning. The food is just too mediocre
We had a wonderful time, with delicious food, and a wonderful waitress. Thank you!
service was outstanding, especially for person in wheelchair
Salad was over dressed
The waiter got the order incorrect
Noisy background
Noisy at the patio
Service
We had reservations for 5 and were asked to wait while they set up our table. The restaurant was empty and we had reservations so it seemed odd we had to wait 10 minutes. We also did not see our server once food was delivered - had to flag down another server to find him. He was on a patio chatting with another server.
Food
We ordered several dishes, including a Filet Mignon (ordered it cooked medium) and a chicken Caesar salad. The Filet was burnt and it took 10 minutes to saw off the burnt bottom (literally looked like the black sole of an old slipper). The lettuce of the Caesar salad was all yellow - like wilted, old center part of romaine - like it had been sitting in refrigerator sine prior week - no flavor. They took care of the steak on the bill - but clearly chefs are not at a professional level.
No wonder restaurant was empty. I was so excruciatingly embarrassed as I took family from out of town here for a special occasion - there is MUCH better in LA - probably MUCH better in any town. Not sure how / if they’ll stay in business.
Nice place but my brunch at Napa Valley Grille in Westwood yesterday is one for the “burn book”. Don’t think I will be returning unless I hear through the grapevine some big overhauls are made. The service and food was literally terrible!
Food was NOT good. Food sat in heat window for 10-15 minutes while server talked to someone around the corner and no one brought our food - there was hardly anyone in the restaurant so no one was “in the weeds”. Highlights of this doozy: The bread on the breakfast sandwich I had was charred black around the edges and dried out because it sat in the window and eggs on the sand which were poorly prepared and dried out; the person in our party that had the Benedict said it was “meh” and dry due to sitting - he said he has had way better at a diner; the turkey sandwich the other person in our party had was also so-so, not great. The server had told us the tater tots were amazing - she was right, it was by far the only thing I enjoyed about this meal. The rest was NOT good. Hope they find the way thru the fog to remedy problems at what is a very pretty nicely designed restaurant.
As always, the food is great. I think the Sunday brunch menu could be a little more extensive, however, I asked for my Benedicts to be made a certain way and they were very accommodating. A little pricey but we enjoy going there either before or after our Geffen Theater days
Simply put, perfect.
Tara, our server was excellent. She listened to how I wanted my order yet she was not obtrusive.
I ordered the kale salad and my husband loved his eggs benedict with potatoes.
The Manager welcomed me with a beautiful smile as I arrived.
Our food was delicious. I even persuaded my hubby to have a "date lunch" at this restaurant
Thanks Napa, keep up with the delicious dishes.
Excellent. Great place and really good food. Service was awesome
Excellent service. The butterscotch bread pudding dessert is to die for.
Food was great and service was excellent. We will be back soon
Beautiful ambience, food good but not great, nice attentive but not overbearing service. But the space is more than half empty at rush hour on a Saturday night?
Our waiter Carlos was very attentive and friendly. Food was good.
This is our favorite place to take our son when we visit him at UCLA. Staff is very friendly and service is always very good.
great food, wine, drinks and service in a very nice Westwood setting.
The food was spectacular- extremely fresh and very flavorful. The entire staff was very attentive but not intrusive - The table service provided by Roy and Rick was exceptional --- it was more like sharing a great meal with friends rather than having a "wait staff" just doing their jobs. Special kudos to Carlos, the Sous Chef, who came to the table to thank us for our compliments about the food.
It made the food taste even better than it already was. Bravo...well done.
Great food & atmosphere for a business dinner!
We saw three empty booths and requested one, only to be told they were all reserved. For our entire meal of two hours, these same three booths remained vacant. The service was very slow, but the food pretty good. I’ll be back, because I’ve had two prior positive experiences. We were hosting a new global director, so a little disappointing.
Napa Valley Grille was a welcome and pleasant surprise. It offers a varied menu, good wine choice choices and really delicious food. The service was great.
Our server was amazing. She was a skinny redhead, can't remember her name but she was incredibly friendly and attentive.
Usually pretty good. Not this time. Food over cooked. Pork chop sent back. Cheese plate lots of cheese not enough to put it on. Flat bread pizza dull. Ceasar salad dull.
Our server Derek was attentive and helpful, whether it be suggesting and allow us to taste different wines, or helping me chose a tasty Gluten Free dish. I chose the Lamp Chops and they were amazing.
Pretty restaurant with good service and food close to Geffen. We would all go back.
