Napa River Grill
Our small group had a date night/birthday dinner at Napa over the weekend! The ambiance and setting was great. Our main server was having an off night.. he had moments of excellence (recommending our wine lightly chilled and bring ice water to do so) but the majority of the time he seemed annoyed by any request we had. We stayed a while and spent a lot of money and felt like we were a burden and rushed. He brought our checks twice without asking if we wanted more drinks, dessert, etc. By 10:45 pm they were sitting trays and bus tubs on the table next to us, signaling to us it was time to go. The other staff that occasionally helped out were great - they gave us great menu recommendations and helped us have an enjoyable evening. Without them - this night would have fell real short of what we were looking for. They were apologizing as we left for the other service. Other than the service, the food was great but the service left a little more to be desired and we all felt like we could get a better value elsewhere.
The food and drinks were very tasty and expertly made. We will be back. My wife wants to go back and reorder her plate.
Mother’s Day. Server was nice but not very knowledgeable. Food was excellent and we had a nice time!
Our server ( sherry ?) was outstanding!! Food was great !
Outstanding Brunch. great every time. We go back monthly because it is so good. The Hot Brown casserole is a real treasure.
Our original restaurant in Downtown Louisville on the top floor of a hotel along the river would not allow us to add three more to our party of 8 for a total of 11. We canceled and left. Napa River Grill accepted our last minute reservation for our party. When we arrived our large round table was set up for us. It was perfect. Everyone had space and we could see and converse with all at the table. Sandy provided fantastic service and the kitchen staff prepared an awesome meal. All of us left stuffed and happy. Thanks for making this graduation celebration a great evening.
The food and service were both good and I expected the menu to be pricey, but the menu was rather limited. There wasn’t a single appetizer that looked appealing to our party. The entrees we chose were well prepared. Maybe we will try again when there is a new menu.
We went for a surprise dinner and had a wonderful experience. The vibe was chill and the food was excellent.
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious impromptu meal at Napa River. The Pad Thai was delicious and the chocolate peanut butter cake was divine! Paul was pleasant and made our experience even more enjoyable. Thank you!
Took awhile to be served, when it didn’t seem to be that busy. Food was good.
Disappointed in food on buffet, a lot of the items were dried out and looked picked over. We have been numerous times, this is the first time we encountered this. Our reservation was for 1pm, later than we normally go, but still if your hours are until 2pm, I would have expected better...
We enjoyed the delicious brunch buffet. Always good!
Nappa's Servers were so nice since we had split tables young adults and older adults. Treatment of the teenagers was professional and very nice - our server did both tables and the word from the teenagers was she did awesome. Kind attentive service made overall experience wonderful.
Love location and atmosphere.
Wine list was good as was the bourbon list. The ladies in the group found a new favorite chardonnay.
The overall cost was much cheaper than I expected. So very pleased on the pocketbook side.
Our party of 10 were all pleased with service and with food. We were able to enjoy
our food and drink and to also carry on our business meeting. We plan on doing
this again soon.
I love Napa River...and every time I’m meeting someone for lunch or dinner, this is the restaurant I always recommend. I have never had anything on the menu that I didn’t like or had to send back to the chef. Portions are ample, service is always friendly and prompt, and their drinks are excellent, too. I highly recommend Napa River to snyone looking for a classy restaurant that is not too expensive and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I also love that is not noisy... you can actually hear each other speaking ! Try it!!
Sunday Buffet was nice. The kitchen portion for eggs was not as smooth. We received our eggs (over easy and an omelette) a bit over cooked. The kitchen forgot the toast but server delivered later and we'll worth the wait. It seems odd to go on about the wonderful toast but the bread was exceptional.
There was 5 of us & we all had the Sunday brunch @ $20. One also ordered eggs Benedict off the limited menu. He said it was only OK.
Although $20 seems to be a lot for a buffet, the difference here is that the offerings are very extensive. There was at least a dozen breakfast items as well as a dozen lunch items.
Coffee at $2.50 is about average cost, however hot tea even with a premium brand is excessive at $4 (ice tea $2.50).
Service was OK. We had to ask +he server to take plates & refill coffee & hot water on multiple occasions. My wife who has been to the Sunday brunch twice before, said that the service level was unusual. It wasn't very busy (about 50%-60% between 10am & 12pm), so it was relatively quiet.
Service and food was great!!
Did not care for the salmon dish.
Service was slow. I saw them bring back several parties that had to wait for tables to be cleaned. Took about 15 minutes to get bread to our table.
They ran out of grits at 730. Seemed pretty early to run out.
Food was good as always but service and ambiance seemed to be lacking. It used to feel special to go there. Something was missing.
Son birthday party gathering for brunch. The food was outstanding with plenty of choices. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back again.
I haven't been in years and really enjoyed it. There are some very nice dishes on the menu. Next time I will get a salad and save room for dessert!
Great food and service! We were looking for something we hadn’t tried and are so glad we found Napa. My husband loved the pork shanks, my daughter the pad Thai and I loved the carbonara pasta. Be sure to try the appetizers too - we had two - the calamari and the goat cheese. And crime brûlée for dessert. Very enjoyable evening at a nice pace. Will definitely return.
Food, service, and atmosphere was great. The price shock was not. It's too expensive except for maybe a very celebrated event such as a 50th anniversary or something. Unfortunately will not be having to good food again.
The food was great, the service was spectacular, the ambiance was beautiful, and our overall experience was incredibly enjoyable. The only reason I won't be back soon is because of the price of the meal. If money wasn't an issue, I'd bring my fiancee back regularly. Thanks for having us!
Absolutely amazing brunch. Will be returning. Couldn't have asked for better. One of Louisville's best kept secrets.
Had a great time at Sunday brunch!!!! We will be coming back again!!!!
Our experience was wonderful in every way! We will be back!
Very yummy food and great mimosas! The service is always great as well, everyone is very friendly!
Person who first waited on us in bar was rude - through her words, behavior and tone of voice. Luckily, someone else picked up our service and she was great so we stayed in the bar for dinner. Food was just okay and overpriced. Husband had lasagne and I had an oriental dish, each $24. I ate at PF Chang’s tonight and had a $12 meal that was far superb to what I had at Napa River. The bar had a nice ambiance but I would not return based on value and food quality.
Service was great. Food was delicious. Getting a bit tired of open table reservations being seated by the bathroom or the kitchen. This isn’t specific to just this restaurant. It seems to be an Open Table issue at all restaurants we’ve booked at in the last 6 months.
I was in the wine business and I think your wine prices are way too high.
Good food with good friends
Our pad thai was great. The soup and salad were good, as always. The brownie was to die for. We’ll be back!
A little slow getting our beverage order when we first got there. But everyone is always so nice. I’d still say it was an awesome brunch.
Wonderful Sunday brunch! A great place to take friends. Food and service are always outstanding!
Service was great. Brunch was very tasty!!!! We had a baby with us and they were very accommodating!!!
My wife had seared tuna ($40), which she enjoyed. My daughter had filet ($40), which was OK if it was served at Taxas Roadhouse for half the price, and I had a Ribeye ($48), which was the toughest piece of meat I have had in a long time.
Way over-priced and just not good
A group wanted to have a committee meeting at Napa River Grill, but a little earlier than the restaurant's regular dining hours. Thanks to Gretchen and Stephanie, we were able to have the meeting around the round table and enjoy libations until the restaurant opened. We did order food which was very good and some of us especially enjoyed the tomato soup and hamburgers. The staff were all very helpful and made our time at the restaurant very enjoyable.
Great service; we had a few special requests and they accommodated them very well. Great food.
