Napa River Grill Ratings and Reviews
Napa River Grill offers the best brunch in the Ville! You can eat 'breakfast' type foods (pancakes, grits, eggs any style) or 'lunch' type foods (hot brown, grilled salmon, fried chicken) or do what I did and have yankee pot roast wrapped in pancakes...delicious!
The head chef keeps an eye on the buffet and foods are replaced as needed...always hot and delicious!
Forgot to mention that you can wash it all down with $2.00 mimosas or bloody Mary's.
We visited Napa with out of town friends. It was a beautiful night and we sat outside. I had been there a couple weeks earlier with my daughter and we had the same waiter. He was just average and didn't act excited to be working either night. The waiter in the bar was great, attentive and quick however.
Overall, a nice experience. Food was very good.
This is a local institution that never disappoints. The service is excellent with servers who are knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The menu always has a Kentucky flair featuring whatever is in season. Each dish is beautifully presented.
It's always a treat to eat at Napa River Grill !
This was an unusual day where I was meeting 2 different groups of friends, one for lunch and one for dinner and they both picked Napa grill. For lunch I had a salad with the salmon added. The salmon was delicious but a very small portion. For dinner I had the burger and fries. The burger was delicious and if you are hungry it provides plenty of food.
Excellent food, excellent server, great place with friends. We love the outdoor seating area, but sat inside this time because it was a very warm evening. The chef offers very creative dish combos, often with some low country/South Carolina twists that are great. We will return.
Best Sunday brunch around. Napa does it right. Plenty of breakfast and lunch options on the buffet plus a made to order egg menu all included in price. Executive Chef Seth's cuisine is always top notch. All this plus Michelle's desserts will keep me coming back for more.
We hadn't been to Napa in awhile so we were excited to go back with some out-of-town friends. However we should have looked at the menu before making reservations. The limited and pricey entree selection was a little disheartening. I went with the Ahi Nachos which are usually very good. This last visit they tasted like they had a stream of mayo on top. My husband's shrimp and grits were a hit - cleaned the bowl! Thank goodness for the Caesar salad (which 4 of the 5 of us got). It's always spot-on (even though the Parm bowl wasn't as crispy as normal - even a little hard to cut through). With the massive number of fabulous restaurants in Louisville, some of the local favorites (Porcini's is another) are becoming complacent with flavors and selections.
We dined at Napa on Saturday and enjoyed a wonderful meal. We sat outside and were able to enjoy a gentleman singing & playing guitar. The volume was not too loud, which made having a conversation easy. He is an accomplished musician added to our evening.
We started off with an appetizer of calamari. It was nicely prepared and the red dipping sauce was a favorite. The green goddess dressing on our salad was a perfect compliment to the fresh greens.
I had the shrimp & grits which I found nicely spiced with lots of tender shrimp & chunks of tasty sausage. My husband had the seafood trio and found it beautifully prepared.
We ended our meal sharoing the strawberry crème brûlée. Oh, my, it was fabulous! It was creamy yet light & refreshing, a delightful finish.
Our waiter, Jeffery, was attentive and helpful, and all the other wait staff kept the meal moving smoothly without making us feel rushed. It was truly a winning experience. Thanks!
Menu choices very limited. Not impressed with the selection. Have been there many times in the past and this was definitely a disappointment. Aaron crane outside playing music was fantastic. However again the menu was limited with choices. Doubtful we will return anytime soon.
Overall pretty decent experience here, went for Father's Day and the restaurant definitely felt appropriate for the occasion, a bit of an older clientele. Food was good, waitress was good but not overly attentive. I would go back for a similar occasion in the future but not for a fun 'dinner with girlfriends' kind of night.
