Napa on Providence Ratings and Reviews
The service was really good. Nice people and they honored the note about my wife's birthday and provided us with a complimentary dessert. Great experience from that standpoint. My wife's Haddock dish was phenomenal. The bread and butter was also amazing. My squash soup and clam pasta were good. However, I could not justify their price. The soup was a slight but bland and the pasta was pretty salty. All in all we enjoyed ourselves a lot and would go back. However, it would be a once in a blue moon thing because hard to get excited about the food for the price of the menu.
Great brunch with my daughter and grand daughter prior to Nutcracker. Our waitress,Carla, was so sweet and attentive to Piper. She even brought a week early birthday cak with candles for Piper. She made the occasion very special for us. Food was beyond fantastic!
The only negative about this place is, unfortunately, the food. It's not "bad" by any means, but it is so beyond over-priced for its quality. And we are not cheap at all, my family regularly dines at the best restaurants in Charlotte. The other night, this was what we ordered: braised duck gnocchi (a little over-salted and incredibly visually unappealing. The gnocchi itself was not very tasty); margherita pizza for the kids (hard to mess up); wife had linguini and clams in a white wine sauce (noodles were way undercooked/semi-crunchy, ground sausage taste overpowered all other flavors, sauce was blah); and I had a hangar steak that was on special. It was delivered perfectly medium rare as requested, but was cold indicating it had been sitting for a bit, also obvious by the shell that was forming over the puree'd mashed potatoes. It had a demi-glaze on it that was way too strong too. My wife returned the pasta and asked for the salmon dish instead. The salmon was good, but again the presentation was lazy... and the things on the plate just didn't seem to go together (wet steamy kale w/ juices mixing with white bean puree and a cranberry glaze on the salmon, I don't know). Anyway, with tip we spent $120... didn't order any wine or other alcohol. Because the decor and everything else in the restaurant is really nice, they seem to get a pass for their food. We've probably eaten at Napa 8-10 times in the past 3 years, lunch and dinner, and maybe once did we walk away like, "wow that was good," and that was when they had lamb chops which were inexplicably removed from the menu. We have officially crossed Napa off our places to dine list. You can go to 131 Main and spend less for much better food.
Amazing food and wine!! The service was top notch. A must visit. Randall our server was very accommodating. The manager Fred picked the perfect bottle of wine for our meal. Then after dinner we stopped at the bar for a nightcap and Charlie mad us each a cocktail that was just spectacular. Thanks for a great night!!!
We went for my husband ‘s Birthday and we were not disappointed. The hot bread and the honey butter was a nice start. The wine choices by the glass are good. We shared the mussels and requested the chorizo to be left off. So happy about that since I don’t eat animals that walk on land. Hubbie had a steak and I had a salad with grilled salmon. We were both very happy.
Our first visit was incredible! Our waiter was very informed regarding the menu and was never hovering! Our drinks, appetizers and entrees came out in a timely manner and were delicious! The ambiance is lovely and we’ll definitely return. It was a perfect dinner start to finish! Thank you!
Came over the summer and had a great meal, so I chose Napa to celebrate my birthday at. Instead of nitpicking every single item we ordered, I will just say it was all just very disappointing. On top of that, our server forgot about us at the end when all we wanted to do was get out of there.
WAAAY too loud... hard to hear others. The booths are super deep, which translates into super uncomfortable because you have no back support. If you sit back far enough to have back support, you cannot reach the table. The server was attentive and the food was decent/good. I would definitely not say it was exceptional. The sauce on the pork chop was a bit overwhelming and too sweet. Calamari was average at best - the dipping sauce was too thick and mayonnaise-y. Stuffed chicken got a thumbs up from other person in my party. The ease of parking in the restaurant's own lot was KEY... no fuss, no paying for parking. Big plus there.
Went before a show at Ovens, shared a salad and three appetizers with a friend. The beet salad was split beautifully between two plates. Truly we over ordered, but now we know to order the meatball appetizers! So truly delicious. Also, the small sample that the chef offered before our meal was out of this world delicious ~ small tortilla with cabbage slaw, shrimp and sliver of jalapeño. Hoping that make the main menu this Fall.
Our server, Kevin was absolutely amazing and made my birthday lunch so special. The GM Kim Hemsley is exceptional and came by to make sure I was having an amazing experience. The food was awesome and we will spend many more days here. Thank y’all so much for a great lunch!
