The food is good at the Tap room. There just not a lot of options for me who is gluten sensitive and can’t do dairy. The kitchen doesn’t seem to be able to alter dishes as much as other Nantucket restaurants to accommodate food sensitivities.

I really wanted to like this restaurant because I had read about it. I must say that the focaccia with Fontana cheese and mushrooms was delicious. The smoked whitefish fritters were actually coquettes. They were not good at all. We also had the chicken on their menu, which was very fatty and Was not to our liking. The upstairs was a cute large room, but the acoustics were horrible and it was incredibly loud almost to the point where you could not hear someone sitting right across from you at the table. People seated, practically on top of us also commented on how loud the restaurant was and this is for a dinner sitting at 8 PM. Service was great.

We’ve always had a great meal at the taproom however, this time was disappointing. The menu changed up a bit so what I usually order wasn’t available. I had the roasted chicken and I have to say it was very small and dry. I’m sure over the summer and hopefully it will be better.
